Sitting in the waiting room of the hospital , the sound of beeping noises wouldn't stop replaying in my head. Mike called Kim telling her ms Smith was found passed out in her room and now she was in really bad condition . When we arrived at the hospital they wouldn't tell us anything , just to wait . Now we were all spread out across the room .

Kim and Lucas face is drenching with tears , I even cried . I keep praying hoping all of this turns out right, that we will all leave the hospital happy and forget all of this happened . That the cancer will leave and never come back .

"She's strong minded , a great support system and the best person I know " lucas mumbles . We all look at him . "The three things I like about Kim " he says .

"He's loving , a protector and no matter what he's there for me " she says . They look at each other and hug . "I'm proud of you bro , continue moving up " she cries in his chest .

"I'm doing it for you man " he says . Dillyn gets up and joins the hug , then amber . I grab Chris hand and we did the same . We probably looked silly , but this is what love felt like .

"Paula Smith " a doctor says . We almost run him over running to him .

"How is she doc ? " Lucas ask .

"She's in a coma " he says bluntly . Lucas puts his head down . "But she could be worst , you can go talk to her , and it's a possibility that she will wake up soon.Although Her lifespan will not change , it's still more time to spend with her " he explains and we nod . I didn't want to believe any of that . She was going to be okay is what I kept telling myself as we walked to her room .

We fill in the room and Lucas grabs her hand . She looks so lifeless and sad . I start crying and Chris hugs me . I always see her with a smile , she shouldn't be sad like this . Why would this disease be in her ? I can't take it.

"God " lucas starts " I don't even fuck with you like that cause I've always done for myself on some straight g shit you feel me, but I can- " he stops and puts his head down starting to cry . Seeing Lucas cry was so rare . Dillyn grabbed his shoulder and amber grabs his free hand "I can't do this shit alone , we can't beat this without you ! Please just save my mother " he says and a tear drops down Chris face .

Kim kisses her forehead and sits beside her . "Momma you got this " she mumbles .

The door opens and mike walks in . He sits at the edge of the beds and bows his head . We were silent . Me personally I was thinking of all the things we take for granted . Living , breathing , being healthy and happy . We wake up expecting those things not knowing that it can all be taken from us in a blink of an eye . Ms Smith did nothing but care and love her family and this is happening to her . We need to stop tripping over the little things and start appreciating what we got now .

"When I left this morning she was okay " Kimberly cries "she said she was fine , and I still left"

"Kim it's not your fault " I hug her .

"It's not , I shouldn't have moved " lucas mumbles. I hate that they were blaming themselves . I look over at Chris and he just shook his head .

"Ms Smith one of the strongest women I know she gone get through this lil pussy ass shit , or we gone have to kill it " lucas says dead serious . dillyn starts chuckling .

"How you gone kill cancer nigga?" dillyn ask him and we start laughing lightly .

"I don't know but we need to figure out shit " he says .

"You know what the last thing she told me was ? " mike asks .

"Take That ugly ass shirt off? " lucas asks and we laugh . I'm glad they lighten the mood .

"No , but she should've " Mike laughs

"Yeah that was a bad fashion choice " Chris laughs

"Not you talking with them school shooter starter pack shoes on " dillyn says to Chris and we laugh because Chris had on black air forces .

"Nigga you got on overalls " Chris points . We all laughing by now making the best out of a bad situation .

"Y'all chill " lucas laughs "what she say ?" Lucas ask

"She said if I go , tell my kids to smile again " he says and my heart shatters . She always wanted smiles no matter the situation .

"She not finna go " lucas shakes his head .

"Big facts " dillyn adds .

"I'm finna be right back " Chris says to me .

"Where you going ? " I ask him grabbing his hand .

"My moms outside, I had to check on her man this hit different " he says and I nod kissing his cheek . He gets up .

"Where you going hazel nut ? " dillyn ask

"I'm finna be right back " he says .

"Bring back two Big Macs a large fry and a medium strawberry milkshake " lucas tells him .chris laughs and daps them up walking out . I start thinking about my mom and look for her number. No matter how much she dislikes me for being out here , I can't live with her dying if I didn't talk to her .

"Aye dillyn you got some stress reliever ? " Lucas ask him . Dillyn looks at him weird , lucas winks , then dillyn smirks .

"Stay wit dat shit bro " dillyn says dapping him up

"We gone be right back " lucas says as him and dillyn exit . Kim was falling asleep with her head on ms Smith bed , and amber was sleep . I kiss kims forehead and step into the hallway calling my mom .

"Amouria walker speaking " she answers the phone . I start crying missing her familiar voice .
"Hey mom it's me "
"Adoria ?" She ask
"Yes "
"Oh my how are you , I've missed you so much " she squeals . This was a better reaction than I thought she was going to have .
"I miss you to ma , I just wanted to tell you I love you so much " I tell her
"Adoria what's going on sweetheart? it sounds like your crying "
"Its Just kims mom is in a coma and it's really messing with my head " I cry
"Oh honey I'm fine, and tell Kimberly and Lucas I'm keeping there mom in my prayers I'm so sad to hear this "
"Thanks mom " I tell her
"I have to go honey , but I will call you back when I get off of work " she says .
"Okay I love you "
"I love you to baby , bye bye "

I hang up the phone and sigh, i felt like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders . It felt so good finally speaking to her .

I see Chris walking towards me with McDonald's bags in his hands . "Hey baby " he says kissing my forehead

"Hey , I called my mom " tell him

"That's good how did it go ? " he ask

"Great ! How's your mom doing ? " I ask him .

"She looks ... happy " he says and smiles I smile at him then hug him .

We walk back in the room and Kim was awake . Chris passes out the food and I get on my phone .

"You always hating shut up " lucas laughs and kicks ambers leg "wake up" he says . I just laugh .

"Why would you wake her up like that ? " kim ask .

"Facts she should beat yo ass "

"Lucas ? " she groans .

"What girl ? " he ask

"My stomach hurts "

"Awe" he says kissing her stomach .

"Guap said y'all straight " Chris tells them coming back in the room .

"That's why you cool with trey huh ? " I ask putting it all together. He just huffs and sit down , I couldn't believe him .

"Y'all I have an announcement to make " lucas stands up . I was over all of this ."me and dillyn are rappers now " he says .kim, amber , and mike starts laughing . "Aye What y'all laughing at ? I'm dead ass " he says

"Yeah he deadass , we gone be sensations watch " dillyn adds .

"Okay " Kim laughs .

"Yeah okay all you want but when it happen don't hop on the wave " lucas tells her

"Yeah whatever I'm done talking to y'all " lucas waves them off .

I look at Chris and he looks at me . I roll my eyes and he does the same making me laugh . He was so childish .

He reaches over and kisses my lips . "Ewwwwww"
