I stare at the ceiling as Kimberly brushes my hair . I haven't left the house , talk to anyone , or even ate in 3 days . I was lost in my thoughts of how I was going to keep myself , Chris , and Kim's families safe . It was only one explanation and it made me sick to my stomach .

"Aye y'all straight ? " Lucas came in the room and ask. Amber left Sunday so he's been kind of lonely since me and Kimberly were being antisocial and sad

"Yeah we good " Kimberly says .

"Well I'm bout to go get something to eat y'all tryna ride ? " he ask

Kimberly looks at me and I nod my head yes . I can tell she really wants to go but wont go if I say no

"Cheer up baby " Lucas says picking me up putting my stomach on his shoulders . I start to laugh for the first time in three days .

"Put me down " I say smiling .

"There go that smile " he says putting me down.

"Your turn " he looks at Kimberly and starts tickling her . She starts laughing instantly. Lucas always wanted to see someone laugh even when he was sad . He has a good heart just like his mom.

"Lucas stop playing " she laughs as he body slams her .

"Damn you getting fat let's go " he says . We get in the car and go to McDonald's. I swear this is his favorite place to eat . The line was long so we sat in the car listening to the music .

"Ain't no place I'd rather be chillin with homies and family sky high iced out paradise in the sky " the music plays

"Who this ? " Kim ask

"2pac it's called thugz mansion " Lucas answers.

"What do that even mean ? " she ask

"Are you a complete fucking retard ? " he ask her pulling up to order . I couldn't help but to smile he was so mean . "Y'all want something?" He ask . I shook my head no and Kimberly told him what she wanted .

"Welcome to McDonald's May I take your order ? " the voice says .

"Yeah lemme Get Two Big Macs a large fry and a medium strawberry milkshake " he orders

"Will that be all ? "

"Nah I also want a number 6 with a sprite and honey mustard" he finishes "that's all "

She tells him the total and we get back in the line .

"Bay what's wrong with you ?you not eating or talking pretty soon you gone be looking like Anthony non proportioned ass " Lucas asks

"Aye don't be talking about my nigga " Kim smacks him . They get there food and we drive off .

"Speaking of yo nigga he came to the crib yesterday with Chris" Lucas tells her . I haven't talk to chris since that night Melvin died I can't risk him getting killed because of me , or getting killed at all . So for his protection and Kimberly's protection I decided to stay away from Chris and just go back with trey . It's only for the summer. I love Chris to much for him to get killed .

"Dori you hear that ? " Kim ask taking me out of my thoughts .

"Yeah " I lie

"Why you lying ?" Lucas smacks his lips causing me to smile

"I did hear you "

"You should call that guy Chris, dude going crazy without " Lucas tells me . We pull up to the house and I was getting ready to get out .

"Kimberly go , lil bit stay " lucas says

"Hold on nigga why can't I stay ?" Kimberly asks .

"Nigga cause I said so " he yells . This whole house got anger problems.

"Alright y'all remember that ," she says getting out the car . Lucas climbs in the back with my and lays his head on my lap .He stares at my face and sips his shake .

"Can I help you ?" I laugh .

"What's wrong with you ? " he ask

"Nothing I'm good " I lie

"My nigga you can't lie " he got frustrated. I start laughing." See that's the real you smiling and blushing all the time , lightening the mood when you enter the room , an uplifting spirit that's you I don't know who this monster is but I don't like it " he says making me blush

"Only you lucas " I shake my head . Why must he break me like this .

"Now whats wrong ? Ian gone ask nomo " he says

"Ight so looks trey killed Melvin and - " I pause thinking about Melvin getting emotional .

"Take your time love " he says getting up putting his hand around my shoulders .

"He killed Melvin and he said Chris was next if I kept messing with him " I start to cry . Lucas took his thumb and wipe away my tears "I don't want anything to happen to Chris or his family so I just want to stay away from him " I say sobbing into his chest .

"Stop crying " he says . I know how bad he hates seeing females cry but I just keep holding this stuff in.

"Then he says since kim saw Mel die he should be messing with her family and that she should count her blessings " when I said that his face turns into a mug .

"That's nigga got me fucked up he think he fucking with my family " he says .

"I just don't know what to do , should I just go back with trey until y'all are safe ? "

"Adoria listen to me , everyone you love gone be safe imma handle that nigga for you " he says holding my chin.

"What about you ? He's dangerous " I tell him

"Tuh that nigga pussy , I'm going to be straight " he says . I nod and wipe my face .

"Why were you mad the other day ? " I ask referring to the night he left without saying anything.

"It don't matter I'm straight now " he says . I know he don't like expressing his feelings but I don't care .

"Lucas stop playing with me " I say eyeing him.

"Look ion wanna talk about it "

"I don't care , you made me talk about something Ian wanna talk about "I tell him

"Your lips look real full after you cry " he says licking his lips looking at mine. When I tell you I melted .

"Flirting not gone break me this time " I say sternly .

"Ight fine my g " he groans " when I went to go grab my weed I heard my mom coughing so I walked up in her room -" he stops to cough . It sounds like he was finna start crying "Ian gone cry cause I'm not pussy " he looks at me .

"I understand " I smile . He extra .

"I walk up in her room and she was coughing up blood , that's shit hit me different . She says it's nothing but I know she lying " he says putting his head in his hands . I knew he wasn't gone let me see him cry . "So I told her she don't gotta work no more , and I would provide for this family. She put in her 2 weeks notice today . When I left that night I went to go see guap " he tells me . The story made my heart hurt .

"Why did you go see guap? " I ask knowing the answer . He lifted his hoodie showing bare skin and a new tattoo . It reads the trouble is , you think you have time. "You started selling ? " I ask in shock .

"I had no choice what was I supposed to do ? "

"Not that ! How are you going to keep your family safe when your working with the nigga that's going to kill them? " I yell in frustration

"Trey ain't got shit to do with me selling " he yells back

"Lucas -"

"Don't worry about me , I'm going to be okay " he tells me in a calm tone . Bipolar?

"What if your not ? "

"I am " he kisses my cheek cause me to blush . "Now go call Chris "

"Okay " I smile at him. I get out the car and go in the house sitting on the couch dialing Chris number .

"New phone who dis ? " he answers making me giggle

"Hey Chris "

"Oh now you wanna call me " he says

"I was going through a lot " I smile at his voice .

"Yeah mhm you got the fingers then you dipped " he says making me laugh .

"Chris hush before ms Joyce hears you " I tell him

"Girl she is at work , what you doing ? " he ask

"Nothing really " I say thinking about what trey said . I really wanted to tell Chris but I knew he would react .

"You going to Melvin's balloon release?" He ask making me heart drop .

"When is it ? " my voice cracks

"It's at 7 , I can pick you up if you want to " he tells me .

"Yeah that will be nice " I say wiping the tear that fell thinking of Melvin . I decided to post him while I was still talking to Chris about everything under the sun.

I read treys comment and block him . Why does he insist on ruining my day . Then tori asking for an ass whooping she trying to bring my Detroit side out of me .

"Baby I'm outside " Chris says through the phone I smile and hang up going outside getting in hugging him tighter than usual. "You okay ? " he struggles to say since I was holding him so tight . .

"Yes I'm just so glad your safe " I say kissing him and over and over . He just smiles and starts driving to the park .

"His mom decided to have it here since he was here most of the time "Chris tells me parking . We walk towards the sight and it was this picture of Melvin sat up on the ground with flowers surrounding it . I instantly start crying . He was smiling in the picture . I could hear his laugh and his voice . Why would trey do this .

"My baby " I hear his mother sobbing into his little sisters arms . I walk over to them  and join the hug crying with them . His mom didn't seem to mind , she probably remembers me . Out the corner of my eyes I seen trey walking up with flowers and a bag .

"Ms coon I'm so sorry for your lost this was the last things of Melvin's i had" he says to her . I gave him the nastiest look I had inside of me. He smirks at me and puckers his lips .

Ms coon pulls out a chain that said "Mel" and a ring . She starts crying harder because you never seen Melvin without that chain on . That was his prized possession.

"Thank you trey , you were his best friend "she hugs him and he smiles . It wasn't a warm smile . It was an evil smile.

I shake my head at him then walk off to Chris . "Let's go " I tell him

"Where you going Adoria? " I hear treys voice . "You can't keep running away from your problems " he snickers

"Just leave her alone tremaine" Chris says

"He wasn't talking to you " the dude on the side of trey says. He always has two sets of security at all time .

"And I wasn't talking to you " Chris says to him. Chris was gone buck but so were they .

"Come on Chris let's just go " I tell him

"Nah He all big and bad let him handle his problem" trey says reaching for his gun so Chris did the same . Which caused the other two dudes to do the same "you sure you want this ? You by yourself nigga" trey says

Trey shakes his head and start walking away and so does his boys . I knew trey was mad . But he wasn't going to react with Lucas around. Something about Lucas crazy ass had these niggas scared .

"Lucas bro you a fool " Chris says

"Man Ian scared to die , plus that nigga pussy anyway " he laughs lighting a blunt .

"Adoria you okay ?" Chris ask bringing me in his lap as he sat on his car across from Lucas.

"As okay as I'm gone be " I mumble .

"Bay you know what's gone make you feel better ? " Lucas ask me

"Nigga forreal you just gone call my girl bay right in front of me ? " Chris ask him

"Oh shit my fault we will keep it behind the scenes " Lucas laughs . "But I was gone say you should hit this blunt " he says taking a long inhale then exhaling it . I reach for it and he gives it to me .

I do what he did and start coughing . They start laugh and Chris takes it from me . "You wasn't ready " Lucas high ass laughs.

I take the blunt back and take to more puffs, I was starting to feel it .

"Where is Kim ?" I ask feeling calm forgetting about everything that happened today

"She with her malnourished ass boyfriend " he says referring to Anthony. Me and Chris start laughing . "Oh shit this my song " he says turning up the radio in his car  opening the door sitting on the hood

"You got me feeling emotions , deeper than I ever dreamed of " He starts singing along with the music . I can't help but to laugh . I start recording so me and Chris join in . The videos were so funny cause Chris was feeling  it .

The song went off and Lucas turns to the song he was listening to earlier.

"What is this song about ? " I ask not understanding the music

"Its basically explaining how when a real nigga die we don't gotta be scared about not going to heaven for all of our sins cause we got a thugz mansion waiting for us when we gone . That's why I jus do whatever cause I know when it's my time to go imma be straight " he explains

I nod and start really listening to the music . It made sense

"Well sorry to kick it to y'all but I'm finna go get something to eat and go to the crib " lucas says getting up .

"Let me guess , you finna go to McDonald's?" I ask knowing he was .

"Duh " he says sarcastically getting in his car and driving off .

"Where you tryna go ? " Chris looks down and ask me with low red  eyes .

"As long as I'm with you I don't care " I smile .

"Cmon " he says . We get in the car and take off . He was driving very fast but I wasn't complaining. We were holding hands and it made me feel safe . We pull up to a very nice house  that I've never seen before.

"Where are we ? " I ask

"We are at my escape house " he sighs getting out . First a lambo then this house . This man is full of surprises.

I get out following him inside gasping . It was beautiful.

"You hungry ? " he ask as I follow him upstairs. 

"Not yet " I say knowing as soon as this weed starts to kick in IN I will be .

There was a large bed in the room and I couldn't wait to get in it . I took my sweats off and my t-shirt getting in the bed . Chris did the same leaving him in his boxers . He got in the bed holding me .

I look at him smiling and he smiles back .

"Chris? " I say

"Yes adoria ? " he says with his eyes close

"Can I get another preview " I mumble embarrassed  causing  a smile to spread across his face .

"Sure " he kisses me . as he deepens the kiss He starts rubbing my area again causing the wet feeling to come back. It happens so fast with him .
