I am Adoria Marie Walker , but everyone calls me seven . I grew up in a city filled with big dreams and low graduation rates known as Detroit Michigan. Because of this I was around behavior that influenced me to become destructive. I got suspended over 30 times , Been in more fights that I can count , and don't even ask how many times I've been arrested . Because my mother wanted me to be successful she moved me out of there when it was time for me to go to highschool. We moved to Georgia and I went to a private school . At first I missed  my friends so much I decided to act a damn fool just so I could go back . But soon enough I started getting my act together and developed to my surroundings. I made new friends and learned new vocabulary. I was getting pretty settled. Until recently on my last day of being a junior . My best friend from Detroit sent for me to come live with her for the summer . Naturally I took the offer .

My mom was not happy about this she said I was going backwards and needed to stay focused on my future . Buts she had to realize , you can take me out of Detroit , but you can't take Detroit out of me .

Getting out of the Uber I walk up to my best friend Kimberly's house and open the door . Her mom left it open so I could surprise her . I walk to her room and realize she was in the shower . So I sit my stuff down and wait, Texting my mother telling her I arrived .

I hide in the closet hearing Kimberly walk out the bathroom and get ready to surprise her .

"Awl hell nah who shit dis is ? " she walks in seeing my bags .

"Surprise " , I yell jumping out tackling her on the bed .

"BITCH " she screams picking me up . " I missed you so much " she kisses my cheek over and over .

"I missed you to bestie " I hug her .

"Well go take a shower and get dressed we got somewhere to be " she rushes me in the bathroom

"Wait I just got here what could we possible have to do? "

"Girl you know how many people know you in town , we have to get shit lit at the park for the one time " she explains. I mug her .

"Didn't I tell you not to tell nobody I'm tryna keep a low profile "

" good the fuck bye you just scared that trey might be there " she smirks .

"I don't give a damn about trey " I lie . Trey was my ex . We used to be on and off since first grade . The summer I was leaving Detroit we planned on keeping the relationship going . That was until I found out he had been cheating on me with Tori since we first started going out . He claimed there was nothing going on. Then her and her big ass sisters jumped me .
How can you be a hoe in the first grade !!

"Bitch did you not know your pupils dilate when you lie " she laughs , I join only because she knows me so well "I missed you so much " she hugs me again "I promise to make this the best summer you've ever had "

"And I also assumed you would be dressing like somebody's grandma at a funeral so I got you an outfit to wear " she smiles

"Hold on , I know how to dress " I lie again . Shopping and dressing has always been hard for me . I think I may be a boy .

"Yeah and I know how to be loyal " she mocks me handing me the clothes . I shower do my hygiene and get dressed . Not gonna lie this out fit was nice . The shirt had the number seven in the back , symbolizing my nickname that the neighborhood gave me .

I decide to put my hair in a tight slick bun on the top of my head , edges slayed of course . I can't dress but I sure can do hair .

I hear Kim and her brother talking downstairs so I follow the sound to the kitchen .

"Ooouuu bestie you so bad " Kim squeaked taking pictures . Her brother turns around and I was stuck . He was so fine . Ever since we were in elementary school he's always been my crush . Yeah I had a boyfriend at the time but he secretly always had my heart , only thing was he was like 4 years older than us . A girl can only dream .

"Damn Ian know you was back in town , you look nice ma " he says . I can feel myself blushing . His grills and tattoos gone make me melt .

"I know something that's gone make that outfit drip though " he says getting up . You could tell he was high . I don't know where he got his money from . Dude was 21 without a job and always had nice stuff, something wasn't right.

"Seven sit your nervous ass down his ugly ass not even cute " Kim told me .

"Yes he is " I blush .

"Nah at the park imma show you who cute , you remember lil Chris from third grade the one you kissed ? " she ask making me cringe thinking back .

"After that lil kiss he fell in love wit you , you kept being rude to him so he just let it go , he probably hate yo ass now " she laughs .

"And I don't care he probably still look like a fat ass monkey till this day " I roll my eyes .

"We gone see " she smirks .her brother walks back down the stairs holding a box .

"This a cold ass watch I bought yesterday, I ain't kno it was for females though " he told us sitting next to me . Lord he jus don't know .

"Lying gay ass "Kim mumbles

"Kim Shutcho ass up before I tell Ant you stalk him " he says to her as he opens the box revealing a beautiful diamond watch .

"First off I don't stalk him " she started

"Yeah right tell that to the diary you write all the things you like about him in " he smirks "Anthony eyes melts my heart like the butter on a stack of pancakes uglah " he mocks her voice . I couldn't help but to laugh .

"I'm going to kill you " she pushes him .

"You know he don't even like you? He said your chin to pointy "

"No he didn't " she pouts . Lucas was so mean to her , but we all knew it was out of love . He wanted the best for his sister and everyone in Detroit knew Anthony was not the best . Maybe the best looking .

Lucas grabs my hand and I tense up "my fault I was trying to put the watch on " he tells me looking dead in my eyes .

"Your fine " I smile and so does he.

"She's underage you pervert " Kimberly smacks  him .

"Man shut yo cock blocking ass up , when you turn 18? " he asks me and I giggle unable to answer .

"In May , which means she just turned 17 you creep "

" shut up " he mumbles . He snaps on the watch and stood up . "Now that's driptastic "

"Thank you " I smile at him .

"Cmon babes time to go see our mans " kimberly tells me .

"Where y'all going ? " Lucas asks

"Too the park "
"None of your business ", me and Kimberly say at the same time .

"Why would you tell him ? " she laughs at me .

"Y'all need a ride up there ? " he asks

"No its walking distance from here " me and Kimberly start walking out the house .

Making our way towards the park I finally get to let everything out " oooouuu ma gawd your brother is the finest thing walking I swear , when he touched my wrist I nearly died !WATERFALLS " I yell .

" yeah I don't know why your mom wasted all that time putting you in that private school , you still the same ghetto bitch You was when you left " she laughs .

"I know right , but if I would have stayed here tori would have got me locked up "

"Her thot ass , bitch that day she jumped you on everything I was about to stop throwing hands and start shooting bullets " Kim got hype .

"Her and trey still talk? " I ask hoping to get the answer I wanted .

"You don't wanna know " she told me as we approached the entrance of the park . Instantly i heard basketballs bouncing , lighters flicking, and bitches yelling . Wow I'm really home .

"Oh shit is that seven? " I heard a voice say . Turning around I seen Melvin .

"Hey boo " I smile hugging him . He is treys best friend , granted he probably knew about the tori situation. He was still there when I needed him .

"I knew you was coming back , but damn looking like this " he complimented.

"Thank you " I smile

"Kimberly " he mugs her .

"Melvin " she mugs him back using the same tone .

"When your ready come over to the court and say wassup " Melvin says to me walking off .

"Damn what's your beef with Mel?" I ask Kim.

"When you left me and summer became closer since we were always up here together . She ended up talking to Melvin and he played her so I called him a knock off  Jackie Chan and we ain't been cool ever since " she explains and I laugh.

"You know he's not asian right ? " I ask her .

" coulda fooled me " she says as we walk further in the park . We had to walk past the basketball court to get to the benches so I decided to say wassup now . We walk up and the first person to see me was anthony . Kimberly grabs my hand as he walks toward us his blonde-brown curls bouncing and sweat running down his face .

"Seven ? " he asks I smile and he hugs me .

"Man I thought you was gone foreva " his accent fills my ears . That's one thing I miss about him , he was from New Orleans and that accent was everything.

"I couldn't leave y'all forever " I say, we hug and his eyes meet Kimberly's.

"Hey Kim " he smiles . Flashing his pretty teeth .

"Hey " she says . That's the lowest I've ever heard her speak .

"You look nice today " he tells her

"So do you " she replies back . This was the most awkward conversation I've ever heard in my life . I just start laughing and Anthony  joins .

"Well well well "I hear a familiar voice. Instantly my smile fades ." Hello Adoria " trey speaks

"It's seven " I say with attitude.

"When were you going to tell me you were back ? " he steps closer to me .

"I'm sure you were the first person to find out " I say looking towards Kimberly as soon as I did she started scratching her head looking in the sky and Anthony started looking at the basketball acting like they weren't listening to our conversation . Everyone knew me and trey had a horrible relationship .

"Yeah me and tori are thrilled to have you back" he smirks

"You thrilled about that std she giving you to ? " I ask causing Anthony and Kimberly to laugh . Trey chuckles and grabs my hand kissing it .

"You always were my favorite " he says walking away . He was so charming that I hated it .

"Seven I really missed yo rude ass " Anthony laughs. We start having a conversation and I notice that Kimberly and Anthony be flirting a little when they talk . I don't understand why they just won't date .

Looking off on the court I start watching the game . I played basketball when I was in Georgia and I was pretty good at it . The game I was looking at was going at a very fast pace . Trey and some other boy were competing very hard . I hated how athletic trey was . It was so - BOOM

I felt my body hit the floor and when I open my eyes all I see is the sun .

"Oh shit my fault " I hear as a tall light figure helps me up . I stumble a little and he grabs me "You straight? " he asks. Picking up the basketball. Either I was really weak or that basketball had some muscle to it .

"Yeah I'm good " I say . The dude looks at me and I look at him . He was extremely good looking I couldn't help but to stare for a while

"I'm seven " I say . he rolls his eyes walking off .

Eh . Rude ass .

"The hell is his problem " I say . Trey was laughing at me and so was kimberly and Anthony .

"You know who that was right ?" Kimberly asks getting the dirt off of me .

"No and I don't care " I say walking off to the benches . "Why lightskin niggas always got a problem? " I ask her as we sat down .

"Girl that's - " Kimberly started but that ice cream truck music cut her off " bitch you hear that " she ask . I stare at her for a while then started dashing towards the sound . Me and Kimberly used to always race to see who made it to the ice cream truck as kids . I always beat her but she always claims I be cheating .

I made it to the truck and she wasn't even close . I laugh at her and start ordering .

"Can I get 2 dragon blood snowcones please ?" I ask .

"4.00 " the mans says I dig in my bag for the Money then someone behind him gave him a 5 .

"Keep the change "the familiar voice says .

" trey I don't need you paying for my shit " grab the snowcones and walk off . I felt him grab my arm and turn me around .

"Girl who you talking to ? you must have forgot what I do " He gritted through his teeth

"Fuck you " my eyes water as I think back to our relationship.

"Don't get fuck-"

"Let her go " the rude boy from earlier says to him .

"Who you supposed to be mr captain save a bitch ? i thought you would have learned by now " trey laughs at him .

The boy grabs him by his shirt slamming him against the ice cream truck .

"Say it again I ain't hear you " the dude I'm starting to like says .

Trey jus mugs him and says nothing "that's what I thought " he says releasing him . Trey walks off and the dude starts to walk off in the opposite direction.

"Hey , Wait " I yell after him trying to keep up .

"What do you want ? " he ask me with attitude.

"I just wanted to say thank you " I mumble .

"I didn't do that for you " he scoffs

"It sure looks like it " I say looking up to him trying to keep up with his fast pace walking .

"Okay think what you want , now get away " he told me .

"Why ?where are you going ? " I asks. I was doing this on purpose. If he was going to be rude I was going to be annoying .

He ignores my questions and unlocks a nice black Lamborghini. I gasps and run to the passenger door . I hear the door lock

"What are you doing ? " he asks

"I've never been inside a Lamborghini before please please please " I beg

"No nigga " he tells me

"Why are you so mean? " I ask genuinely curious

"I really fucking dislike you "

"You don't even know me " I laugh

"You sure? " he asks he threw a necklace at me and sped off in his car .

It was a peach in shape of a heart . I remember seeing the necklace I just didn't know from where .

Then it hit me

*Flashback*

"Seven im sad that your leaving but I know it's for the best so I got you this to remember me " Chris says to me .

" awe Chris I - " I seen trey walk up .

"I don't want this bullshit , get away from me and don't ever come back " I say throwing him the necklace slamming the door .

I instantly start crying . I wanted Chris so bad but trey said he was going to hurt him if I ever talk to him . I don't want to get Chris involved in that . So I have to push him away . Thank god I'm leaving .

*flashback over "

"Chris " I whisper as if he could hear me .

I start walking back over to the bench and Kimberly was talking to summer as Melvin , and Anthony surrounds them .

Summer has never been my cup of tea . She was the neighborhood hoe and I just wasn't feeling that type of shit. Let's not forget she was friends with tori at one point .

"Seven ! " summer yells " I missed you"

I ignore her and hand Kim her snow-cone."what's wrong boo ? " Kim ask me

"You kno Who dat is now don't you ? Anthony ask referring to Chris .

"Yeah " I mumble squeezing the necklace .

"Yeah you did him wrong , he didn't get over that shit for some weeks " Anthony told me .

"Yeah That was wrong had dude crying and shit , I would never do somebody like that " Melvin says egging it on . Summer cleared her throat mugging Melvin . He didn't seem fazed which caused me to laugh .

"Why you was so mean to him? I mean I know dat nigga was ugly as hell no homo but damn " Anthony asks

"I don't know " I lie . I knew exactly why I did him like that . It hurt me everyday .

Kimberly looks at my eyes then shakes her head .

"Ou bitch look " summer says looking towards the field . I seen tori and trey kissing . I instantly get upset and start charging towards them . Kimberly and summer follows and Anthony try's to pull me back . I was upset because he ruined my relationship with Chris , when he was cheating anyways . And with that bitch !? Oh hell nah .

"Oooh look who's back " tori starts. I slap her . I swear it was muscle memory I didn't even plan on touching her .

She try's to hit me back but Melvin grabs her . Trey was laughing . "Bitch I got something for yo ass " she yells .

"It's cute how your still fighting over me " trey says to me . I raise my hand to slap him and that's just what I did . The slap meant way more than it needed to be I felt cleansed.

"Cmon dori it's time to go " Kimberly pulls me away walking towards the exit of the park . I saw the hatred in treys eyes after I slapped him . A snake can't hide for to long.

"Bestie you are one crazy bitch " Kimberly hugs me as we make it to her house .

"Only for you daddy " I wink at her . We laugh and walk in .

"Where y'all been ? " lucas asks as we walk in .

"Having sex for money " Kimberly responds going upstairs.

I plug up my phone in the walll. Soon realizing me and Lucas were downstairs by ourself . If I look at him I will break .

I turn around taking off his watch preparing to hand it to him .

"Thank you for letting me wear it " I try handing it to him .

"Keep it , it look better on you anyway " he says .i blush sitting down . My stomach grumbles really loud and he starts laughing .

"You hungry ? " he chuckles .

"Yeah, kinda " I smile . That was so embarrassing

"Come on I'll take you to get something " he gets up going towards the door . I'll be damned if I pass up this experience.

We walk to his car , he opens the door for me and I get in . For him to be such a thug he has manners . Why can't he be 17.

"Where you tryna go jitt ? " he asks

"Coney Island duh " I say and we laugh.

"I knew you was gone say that , lil self missed Detroit huh ? "

"Yeah I wish I could come back " I tell him.

"Honestly it was best for you to go , you was bad as hell " he laughs

"I wasn't that bad "

"Bruh you remember that time I had to pick you and Kimberly up from jail cause y'all decided to skip school and smoke weed behind McDonald's " he says and I start to laugh .

"That day was so fun "

We get my food and start talking about old times . Talking about all of this was so funny . Me and Kim really was bad .

On the way back to the house he took the long way . I don't know if it was because he was to high to focus or he wanted to continue talking but I wasn't complaining.

As we pass the park I seen an familiar car in the parking lot .

"Hey Lucas can you drop me off at the park for a minute ?I can walk back "I ask

"Sure and it's cool I can wait ma " he says pulling up to the park . I smile at him before getting out. This should be quick anyways, considering dude don't like me .

"Why you out here so late ? " I ask sitting next to him . He looks over and shakes  his head about to get up . " Chris Wait , I came to apologize"

"I don't want your fucking apology" he spat . I was shocked "now that trey not in your life no more you want to start regretting all of the bullshit you pulled when you was with him , nah fuck that "

"Chris when I kissed you it was because - "

"Because it was a dare right ? " he cut me off clearly upset . I felt tears coming down my face . " you told everybody dat shit was a dare knowing damn well it wasn't , I tried to comfort your stupid ass but now I know that was a mistake , you deserved every single thing that trey did to you " he said before walking off to his car .

I try to wipe all the tears away from my eyes before walking back to Lucas car . Knowing Lucas he would do something crazy . He don't like seeing females cry .

Getting back in the car it was Smokey . I start to laugh noticing Lucas had a blunt lit .

"Aye my bad " he laughs looking at me " that nigga had you crying ? " he got serious

"I'm fine " I fake smile .

"I'll kill him" he says reaching for his gun in the glove department.

"Lucas it's fine " I say grabbing his hand laughing at his craziness. He calms down and I notice I was still holding his hand so I decide to let it go .

"Why you let go ? " he ask . I grab it again and we start driving again . I could hold his hand all day . It's a perfect hand . Just perfect .

We walk in and Kimberly was standing at the top of the stairs with her hand on her hip .

"And Where was y'all at ? " she asks

"Having sex for money " he responds laughing . He is a mess .

"Lucas you not funny and Adoria Marie walker you gotta be out yo damn mind " she says sounding like my mom .

"Don't hate on our forbidden love " Lucas says and we laugh

"Yeah shit gone be hilarious when y'all end up like Romeo and Juliet asses " she points.

"Nah we more like Bonnie and Clyde " he says

"They still died at the end you fucking retard " she says and he tackles her . They start play fighting and I laugh going to check my phone . I got a text from an unknown number
