Glowing Eyes
Silence. Complete and utter silence, not the tiniest sound to be heard. It was slowly driving Jesse insane.
She wasn't sure how long it's been, but she knew hours had passed. And in those long hours, the only noise that met her ears were the sounds she made.
Her anxious breathing as her eyes scanned the dark room. Her shaky voice when she tried to talk to herself for a shred of reassurance. Her bare feet's soft padding on the cold floor as she restlessly paced up and down.
Jesse sunk down against the obsidian wall, pulling up her knees and wrapping her arms around her legs. Her brown eyes came to rest on the red gauntlet on her right hand, it's glowing aura being the only light she's seen in hours.
She wished she knew what the Admin's plan was for her. All he had said, was that her actions in breaking the clock 'pleased him'. The blue gauntlet had tightened around her wrist in an instant, slowly turning the colour of blood. And then everything had went black for Jesse, the echo of her friends calling her name, still echoing in her ears.
She woke up in that obsidian cage, her armour, sword and any other items she had on her, missing. Deafened by the silence and only having the gauntlet itself for light.
Jesse gritted her teeth, huddling herself into an even tighter ball. The room was incredibly cold, and she no longer had any armour to keep her warm.
Letting out a soft sigh, Jesse buried her face into her arms. She could only hope that the Admin let Petra and Jack go, that they were in a better position than her. She didn't care what he did to her, as long as her friend's were left alone.
Jesse wasn't sure for how long she sat like that, her face buried in her arms. Her skin was hard with goosebumps from the cold, and her stomach was starting to remind her of just how long it's been since she last ate something. But Jesse's mind wasn't focused on her own miseries for too long, when she felt an odd shift in the air.
"What is this pathetic mess? Get up, champion!"
Jesse's head shot up at the Admin's voice suddenly echoing through the obsidian prison. Her breath caught in her throat when she found herself staring straight into his blood red eyes, the pupils glowing a sickly yellow. On pure instinct, Jesse scrambled to her feet, edging back against the wall.
"Now that's better." A smirk began forming on his face as he slowly took a step towards Jesse.
"The hell you want from me?" Jesse hissed, scowling. "And what have you done to my friends?"
"I want you to be my champion of course." He said, excitedly slapping his hands together. "You completed my challenge, just like I had anticipated. This is your prize! As for the losers? I simply threw them out."
"So they're okay?" Jesse asked, hating how her voice faltered. "You let them go, and now you'll leave them alone?"
"As long as they don't interfere with my plans, yes." Romeo responded, his smirk growing. "Not that there is much they can do now. I got what I wanted."
"Look, I don't know what you want me to do as your champion, but I'm nobody's possession!" Jesse growled at him. "And I will not let you use me!"
"Use you?" The admin threw back his head, laughing. "Oh, Jesse, Jesse, Jesse... I don't want to use you! I just want us to be... friends."
He took another step closer to Jesse, her response being to quickly scamper away from him again. Despite the fear swirling inside of her, she put on an expression of determination, trying to look as intimidating as she possibly could – which wasn't a whole lot at that moment.
"Shy, are we?" The Admin raised his eyebrows, grinning. "We'll have to fix that."
"I'll never be friends with somebody as horrible as you!" Jesse hissed, pointing a finger at him. "You can do to me whatever you want, but I won't succumb to your desires!"
"Oh, but Jesse, that's where you're so very wrong." The Admin said as he began moving closer to her again. "It's not about what I want. It about what you want."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jesse asked warily.
One of the Admin's hands suddenly shot out, clasping around her wrist, holding her there so she couldn't back away from him again. Jesse could hear her heart beating in her ears as he stepped forward, pulling her closer as well. His demonic eyes were bearing into hers, so close she almost felt his breath on her face.
"I am offering you, so, so much." He said in a low voice. "Anything your heart desires, you can have it with a mere snap of your fingers."
"No." Jesse said firmly, clenching her jaw. "There is nothing in this world that I want badly enough, to give up my freedom for."
"Power is freedom, Jesse." The Admin said to her. "With it you can do anything you want. You can live the life you always dreamed off."
"How would you know what my dreams are?" Jesse asked him, although the fierceness in her voice was beginning to dim. Her brown irises had a hazy glow starting to form around them.
"You want to continue ruling Beacontown, with all four of the other Order members right by your side." The Admin said, his voice almost dropping to a low whisper. "And you want them to stay."
Jesse blinked slowly, her eyes starting to obtain a faint golden tint. "No." Her voice was beginning to weaken. "I don't want to rule... I want to lead."
"Power will let you lead." The Admin whispered to her. "You can lead without ever having to worry about your friends leaving you."
Jesse blinked again, her irises becoming more gold with each flutter of her eyelids. "They... would never... leave me."
"Have you forgotten already?" The Admin asked. "They had an adventure planned without you. With my hep, you'll never be left behind again."
Jesse's eyes glowed brighter, her gaze becoming almost distant. She was no longer pulling against the Admin's grip, standing as still as a statue.
The smile on his face began to grow. "Do we have a deal, Jesse?"
No reply.
"Don't fight it, champion." He whispered to her. "Everything you truly desire, could be yours."
Jesse stood still for another second, before her eyes slowly closed. When she opened them again, they were glowing solid gold, none of the original colour visible anymore.
"I ask again, champion. Do we have a deal?"
"Yes. Admin."
------------------------
Petra was running as fast as her legs could carry her, completely ignoring the hammering of her heart inside her, or the desperate heaving as her lungs fought for air. Her eyes were focused on Beacontown's large red gates in the distance, her mind set on getting to them as fast as she possibly could. She could hear Jack huffing and puffing behind her, only barely keeping up.
"Petra-!" He gasped. "Slow down!"
Petra flat out ignored him, too out of breath to call a reply, while also refusing to stop or slow down. She had to get to Beacontown as quick as possible, tell Lukas and Radar what happened. They had to find a way to get Jesse back from wherever that maniac teleported her to!
Somebody must have been on the lookout, because as Petra and Jack neared Beacontown's gates, they began to slide open. Two figures emerged from the gates, moving towards them as they approached.
"Petra!" She heard Lukas call her name as he and Radar came running up.
Petra dug her heels in, before bending over and resting with her hands on her knees as she tried to get her breath back again. There was a light thud behind her as Jack promptly collapsed to the ground in exhaustion.
"What happened?" Lukas asked as he and Radar came skidding to a stop in front of them. "Where's Jesse?"
"Vos... was the... Admin all along." Petra choked out through her ragged breaths, wiping the sweat from her face. "He... took... Jesse."
"W-what do you mean he t-took Jesse?" Radar asked anxiously, his voice beginning to nervously stutter.
"He teleported away with her." Petra said, finally managing to somewhat catch her breath. "Said something about her becoming his new 'champion' for completing the challenge."
"We need to figure out what he did with her." Lukas said firmly.
"But how are we going to do that?" Jack asked, standing back up from the ground. "We have no idea where he took her!"
"That doesn't mean we'll give up." Petra growled at Jack. "We're going to find Jesse, no matter-"
She didn't get to finish her sentence, the sky above them dimming all of a sudden. Their gazes shot upwards, fear and panic glinting in their eyes. The sky flashed red as a man teleported into sight, levitating in the air above them.
"The Admin." Petra breathed, only barely able to refrain from taking a step back. She began opening her mouth, ready to fire her words of disapproval at him, ready to make this monster understand just what she thought of him.
But Petra never got the chance, as somebody else appeared next to him with a second flash of red. And this time, she took that step back in horror.
Because hovering next to the Admin, gaze empty and lifeless, eyes glowing a horrific golden colour, was Jesse.

So this happened! Not quite sure what it is, but I think I like it!
I was brainstorming for what to write for this prompt when I thought, what if Romeo somehow hypnotized/possessed Jesse into joining him? And this was born!
I feel like I could have done better on it, but I still don't think it turned out too shabby. And it was definitely a fun one to write!
This A/N on the other hand, time I stop writing it and call it a day. I think I can hear my bed calling my name all the way here. In other words, I'm tired XD
I'll give this one shot another sweep tomorrow, so just bear with any mistakes for now. Editing is beyond my tired brain's current possibilities, lol.
I hope you all enjoyed this one shot, and I'll see you tomorrow with whichever prompt comes next!
