"Who are you?" you ask as the English woman takes a seat across from you. "What year is it?"

Her face falls. "You haven't seen me before, have you?" You shake your head. "You told me that you wouldn't recognize me one day."

"I've never seen you before. Now, tell me. Who are you and when am I?"

She looks up. "My name is Peggy Carter. It's 1946."

You scoff. "You've got to be kidding."

"I wish I was. What's even stranger is that the last time I saw you, you said you came from the year 2019. Is that still true?"

You shake your head. "I'm from 2018."

Peggy Carter nods. "That explains why you don't know me."

"How do I know you again, Ms. Carter?"

Peggy grins, her white teeth showing contrast against her red lipstick. "We're going to have many great adventures in your future, [Y/n]. But first, let's figure out how to get you home."

A week later, you and Peggy stand outside her apartment building. Going from Los Angeles 2018 to New York 1946 really took it out of you. But with Peggy's help, you were back to normal in no time. However, you were going to miss her.

A lot.

"Come back and visit?" she asks.

You nod with a smile, pulling Peggy in for a tight embrace. "I promise, Peg. You haven't seen the last of me."

"Oh, I know I haven't."

You turn to leave. You feel Peggy's hand grab yours and turn you back around. Before you can say anything, her lips are on yours. You kiss her back.

She pulls away, whispering, "Come back to me, time traveler."

You kiss her again, then disappear in a flash. But one thing is for certain: you'll be going back to 1946.
