LXXI. Gone, Gone, Gone ☆ Peter Parker
Song | Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips
-
"Baby I'm not moving on.
I'll love you long after you're gone."
-
Letting you go was Peter's biggest mistake, but after Gwen's death, he didn't feel like he could ever love fully again.
You proved him wrong.
You knock on his front door, and are met by his Aunt May, who smiles at you kindly. "[Y/n]! Oh, thank God. You have to come in." She drags you through the door, not waiting for you to answer. She escorts you to the stairwell, pointing firmly to the upstairs. "Go. Talk to my stubborn boy. He hasn't been himself since he stopped seeing you."
"Really?"
Aunt May rolls her eyes and moves her head towards the stairs. "Please. He needs you more than you know."
You give her a smile and a nod, turning to walk up the stairs towards Peter's room.
When you get to the door, you try the doorknob, seeing that it's locked. "Peter, it's me. Let me in."
"Go away."
"Peter, don't make me."
"Make you what?"
"I know exactly what kind of lock you have on your door and can hack it with my eyes closed. Don't make me come in there with you indecent."
You hear a click, and the door falls open. You see Peter sitting in his computer chair, hands folded in his lap. There are dark circles under his eyes; he looks exhausted and sad. "Hey."
Your gaze softens and you walk over to him to sit in his lap, holding him close. "Oh, Peter."
"It's the anniversary," he whispers, arms around you. "It's been three years..."
"It's okay to miss her," you mumble, burying your face into his neck. "I know you love her."
"I love you, too. I'm sorry I pushed you away. These past few weeks have been... pretty rough."
You pull back and smile at him. "Don't sweat it, Spidey."
