The first thing you saw when you opened your eyes was the sky. It was blue, much unlike your home planet. It was the brightest blue you'd ever seen...and it had clouds. Clouds never happened on your planet. Nothing this beautiful ever happened on your planet.

An alien left here by an interstellar merchant, you were forced to remain in a place you didn't know with people you feared would hurt you. They stared at your strange appearance with apprehension and disdain. Most people shunned you the first day you were on your own.

But some of them tried to hurt you, so you fought back. Energy came from your eyes and hands as your anxiety levels rose. People started to scream and run. Everywhere you looked, there was something to hurt you, something to be afraid of.

You destroyed an entire city block before the Avengers arrived, though you didn't know their name at the time. The six figures landed in several different areas of the block. Some were even flying.

A man with a shield starts walking towards you. You can't understand what he's saying because you don't know the language of this planet, but you can tell he' sincere. His eyes plead with you to stop, and he reaches a hand in your direction.

You would learn later that he told you, "Don't be afraid. I'll protect you."

In the moment, all you can do is lower your hands and collapse on the broken street beneath you. You wipe your eyes of tears, trying to contain yourself. The man with a shield runs over to you, helping you up.

"Don't be afraid," Steve says, though he figures you aren't able to understand him. He holds you close, walking you towards the other Avengers with a look that tells them to back down. "Everything's gonna be okay."
