"[Y/n], I really just don't feel like going out tonight."
"Awe, c'mon, Vis! You said you couldn't 'feel' things. How can you 'feel' like not going out tonight?"
"Please, don't make me socialize."
By the tone in his voice, you could tell that this wasn't just something he was saying. Vision really didn't want to go out and socialize. Now, you couldn't blame him, but it wasn't usually like this in your friendship. He was usually the one that was getting you to get some sunshine and talk to people at least once a week.
It's never been the other way around.
You take a seat next to the android, seeing his eyes gaze out the window over New York City. He doesn't look to you, even though you're staring at him.
"What's wrong?" you ask softly.
Vision doesn't sigh or shrug his shoulders, nor does he look to you as he gives his reply. "I'm not like you, [Y/n]. I am not human. I can't...can't sympathize or empathize. Everything I 'feel' is just binary in my circuits. I feel like I'm a pretender when I talk with your friends. They look at me like I'm nothing more than a robot. It's hurtful...and then again it isn't because the 'hurt' I feel isn't real either. It's made up, a flawed attempt at recreating human emotion." He hangs his head. "I'm too different, [Y/n]."
You chuckle softly, bringing Vision's eyes up to yours. "You think I won't like you because you're too different? Vis...that's not true at all."
"What, is that humorous? You're laughing."
You laugh again. "It's funny because it's so wrong. Vis, I like you because you're not like everyone else. You're smart, you're unique, you're kind. Remember when Wanda was sad and you made her Paprikash? That was so sweet, and you made her smile again. You understand human emotion just as well as everyone else, because guess what? No one has this thing figured out. No one. We're all just trying to...to get on with our lives while doing the best we can." You reach over and take his hand. "You're one of a kind, Vision. I wouldn't trade you for a friend in the world."
Vision gives you a smile, then nods. "Then maybe we should go get...ice cream? Ice cream makes us both happy."
A grin spreads across your face. "Ice cream sounds amazing."
