CIII. Choices (Part 1) ⚛ Tony
Request: 44 & 50 with Tony

"Why does anyone have to be naked, Tony? Why can't we just have a normal, ordinary wedding?"
"Because when, in the history of ever, has anything been normal with me? Or with us, for that matter?"
You chuckle, walking with your fiancée into the briefing room at the new Avengers headquarters. Everyone is seated around a table, and an unfamiliar man stands at the front. He doesn't look friendly. He introduces himself as Secretary of State, Thaddeus Ross.
"We're here to talk about the events over the past few years...and what needs to be done to put us in check," Secretary Ross begins.
You look to Tony who sits beside you. "Did you know anything about this?"
Tony doesn't reply verbally, only nods.
"And you didn't tell me?"
He gives no reply.
After the talk, everyone has time to think over their offer: surrender to the United Nations' authority and control or turn in our Avengers' cards.
You pull Tony out of the room before he can have a chance to talk with Steve. "You should have told me about this the moment you found out," you whisper angrily.
"Would you have felt any different if I had?" he defends. "I happen to agree with Ross."
You step back, surprised. "How could you? He's talking about taking away our freedom as Avengers. We should never be controlled by the government, no matter which, because government's change with the people in power. If we become just another government program, they can control who we help, when, and why."
Tony shakes his head. "We need some sort of barriers, [Y/n]. I love you, but we need this. I'm going to sign the Accords. The choice is yours."
You brush past him, muttering, "If you really loved me, there wouldn't be a choice."
