Some walk a thousand miles to reach their destination, just to realize that they never had to leave home...

A clearing. Green moss covered the ground, shining with dew on their small leaves. The smell of lavender hovered overhead. The sunlight shown down perfectly, almost like a dream. Surrounding the moss-laden circle were tall, thin birch trees, strangled with ivy. 

A body lay in the middle of this perfect clearing, still and silent. An animal, it seems, maybe a cat? No, a strange cat. One with two tails. Each thin like a rat's. Instead of back paws, the creature had hooves, like a deer. With hindquarters to match. It's head was small, with a small muzzle, and long, pointy ears, each adorned with a tuft. It's pelt, one the other hand, was a dark gray-brown with black stripes. 

The creature's eyelids fluttered. Then the eyes opened. Large and purple then stood out among the perfect green of the moss. It blinked. Taking a breath, and trying to get up, the creature struggled to move. As through the creature was frozen, it seemed to regain control of it's limbs. It propped itself up on one front leg, flexing long claws from it's tired paws, tucking it's back hoofed legs under it's belly. 

The creature slowly turned it's head, scanning the clearing.

A cloud of breath came from it's mouth as it spoke, "Why?.."
