Me: HA, YOU THOUGHT I WAS DONE WITH YOU!?
You: What are you talking about?
Me:*draws more Oreocup and throws it at your face*
Jk XD
But did you think I was done drawing Oreocup even after the alternate drawings?
NOT A CHANCE XDDD
Okay, maybe 😜
But this book will go on...for a while 😁😁😁
So with that out of the way...
My (older) brother stole my sketchbook and drew in it, and he drew a scene from La La Land.
Has anyone else seen that musical? XD
But the thing is, he said that the main protagonists reminded him of the Oreocup ship, which is why he drew this.
Don't judge the drawing too harshly, it's legit his first time drawing objects XD
FRICK IT'S TILTED AHHH
By the time you've read this, I've already seen La La Land, and it is AMAZING.
I'll give you a breakdown of it, and I'll try not to give spoilers :3
Actually, major spoilers down below XD
Seriously, if you haven't seen La La Land, I advise you not to read this next part! Go watch the musical, you won't regret it!
La La Land is a musical about two people, Mia and Sebastian. Mia aspires to become an actress, auditioning for different movies. Sebastian is a musician, and he wants to make his own Jazz club.
One Winter day, Mia is auditioning for a movie, when a guy, Sebastian, spills his coffee on her. She's in a bad mood for the remainder of the day, until her friends show up that evening.
Mia and her friends are supposed going to a party, and while Mia agrees to come with them, she leaves soon afterwards. She finds herself at a resturant where Sebastian is playing his own tune instead of a Winter song, and while his boss hates it, Mia loves it, but Sebastian is too angry to take notice of her compliment.
Spring, Mia is at a pool party, and Sebastain is Playing there again. After they take the request of a sing from her, I Ran, they start to really talk. They leave together in the evening, walking and talking on the way to their cars.
Then they meet again at the coffee shop Mia was working at, and when she's on break, she walks him around Los Angeles a little bit, they talk about things, and Mia brings up Jazz, and how she doesn't like it.
Sebastian explains to her that Jazz is awesome, and brings her to a Jazz club in LA. He talks about how Jazz is a conflict and comprise of instruments, it's never the same. That's the kind of Jazz he wants to preform at his club, exciting and unique.
Then an old friend of his, Keith, comes up to him, he and a few friends had a band, and they wanted Sebastian to play in it. He agreed, so they were to start practicing in a while.
After the meet up at the Jazz club, Mia gets a call, and she's been chosen to audition for something. She excitedly tells Sebastian, and he wants to celebrate by taking her out for a movie. She agrees, and they make plans to meet up.
But Mia forgot that she already had another date planned with Greg, who was a business person. She's torn between the two, but in the end, goes on the date with Greg. However, she's being ignored, so she leaves to go to the movie theater with Sebastian.
The movie they were watching was cut off, however, but they get an idea. They drive to the place were they shot a particular scene, a planetarium. They dance, they have a great time dancing among the stars on the roof, and then they(finally) kiss.
It's Summer now, and Mia and Sebastian are officially dating. They're kind of a pair of rebels, but that's okay. Sebastian is practicing for his band, but Mia is still having trouble getting into the show biz. Sebastian suggests that she stop trying out for something, and make a play of her own.
And she agrees.
She starts writing her own play as Sebastian cheers her on, playing for her what I like to call their special song, City of Stars.
Somewhere around this time, Fall arrives. Their jobs, Sebastian's band practicing and Mia's script writing and play planning, keep them from really loving each other, and they kind of grow apart.
But Sebastian does make a little dinner for the both of them, to treat Mia. Everything is going fine, until Sebastian's band, The Messengers, is brought up. He's gonna be on tour with them for a few years, and Mia isn't very excited about that.
See, The Messengers don't play the kind if Jazz Sebastian plays. It has specific instruments, this liad-out path of melody and beat, and Sebastian doesn't think this is what Jazz is. He doesn't like it, but he's convinced if he stays in the band, he can earn a steady income for him and Mia.
But Mia knows thag Sebastian doesn't enjoy this, she wants him to start his own Jazz club and do the things he loves, just like he told her to write her own play. They fight for a while, and then Mia leaves.
The next day-ish, Sebastian is to go to a photo shoot for his band. But the thing is, his photo shoot was scheduled on the same day as Mia was to show her play. He was torn between his job and ambition, and the person who needed his support.
He decides that the photo shoot is more important, and stays over for it. But he isn't very happy. And when the photographer asks him to play something, he finds himself playing a little bit of City of Stars.
Meanwhile, Mia is acting her play, "Goodbye Boulder City", by herself. It was a one woman show. Once she finished, the small amount of people, her friends, clapped, but she didn't see Sebastian anywhere. Distraught, she goes backstage, but overhears her friends talking crap about her acting skills.
And she just can't take it.
Sebastian runs over to where Mia was performing, only to find that he was too late for the play, but catches Mia outside. He says he's sorry for choosing his job over her, but she dismisses him, and said she was going back to her hometown in Nevada.
She goes back to her parents to try and recollect her thoughts, and it's quiet for a few days, until Sebastian shows up. Apparently, Amy, a director, had shown up for Mia's play, and wanted her to audition for a big movie she was making. Mia said she was going to think about it, and at 8:00a.m the next day, Sebastian thought that she wasn't gonna come, but she pulled through in the end.
After her audition, she just sits with him at a bench overlooking the town, and they talk a little. Mia was not to get her results until a few days later, so they had to just wait, hope, and see.
Now Winter, 5 years later. Mia is a fairly well known actress, and is married to Greg. They go out, but then decide to cut the traffic and go get some dinner.
They stop by a Jazz club, but it isn't any Jazz club. It's Sebastian's.
At one point, he quit the band, and went back to playing what he loved. He was successful, and so he has this thriving club of Jazz lovers. He comes up on stage to play a song, and plays City of Stars.
And in that moment, Mia is back to when they first met, at the restaurant. But it's different.
They kiss on sight, and every memory is different. Sebastian refuses Keith's offer, they still date, but are more focused on each other than their ambitions. They get married, have a kid, and they're back at the Jazz club, enjoying the Jazz music they love together.
And while they both knew that they could've had a perfect future together, they know the path they chose, and while it wasn't the most ideal, they were both going to make the best out of it.
And I can see why this reminded him of Oreocup. Because he believes that while Oreocup was perhaps meant to be, it just won't happen. The contestants and Object Illusion itself is putting a strain on them. With Watermelon manipulating Oreo, and the absolute uncertainty that Pudding Cup really doesn't have a crush...because of these sheer circumstances, they just can't be together and it's just...god.
The symbolism is too real ;-;
I still believe in Oreocup tho, miracles can happen, right? 💖💖💖
So, that'll do it for today, and I will see you in the next one! Love ya, byeee 💖💖💖
