Day 20 - How important you think education is.

I think education is very important, although I think the schools are going about it the wrong way, more and more as each year passes and they change things "for the better" in their opinion. They are putting too much stress on students now and that makes it harder for them to grasp what is being taught. A stressed mind has a harder time understanding and retaining knowledge. They might remember it just long enough for a test, but it rarely sticks in their minds beyond that test and any real understanding beyond the basic surface of what is being taught is nearly impossible with the speed they are trying to push the students along at.

Still, I think PROPER education is important, far more so than most people seem to realize. Without a good understanding of mathmatics, a person could be cheated out of hard earned money when making purchases. Not just in stores, but when buying cars, a house/condo, when signing for an apartment or getting tickets for something, be it a concert or airline tickets. You want to make sure hidden fees or 'extras' are not being added on without your knowledge and if they are, how much is being added on? Is buying in bulk really cheaper than buying one at a time? (i.e. - does the big bottle of ketchup really cost less per ouch than buying lots of little bottles? The reality is, not always.)

As for language classes, for anyone who dreams of becoming a writer, you can't really find a class that is more important than language classes. If you don't do well in them, expect extra classes in college to 'get you up to speed' on your reading/writing skills. That and the knowledge comes in handy for many other aspects of life. There is not a day that does by when a person does not read and/or write something down, even if it is a simple list of items. But when the time comes to get an apartment, buy a house or car, or make any other major purchase or sign a lease, you NEED to be able to read and UNDERSTAND as much of the paperwork as possible. If you don't understand what you are signing, you CAN get screwed over BIG TIME! You want to make sure there are no hidden clauses that could end up with you paying extra in the long run.

History, yeah... I could do without all the dates and stuff, but I think it is important that people at least understand a lot of the past so they can avoid making similar mistakes to some people while looking up to the amazing things that have been done by others!

Gym/Physical Education is good because it is good to be at least in good enough shape to run away if someone is trying to hurt you. It's also good for Pokemon Go players because dang, when you see that rare Pokemon pop up nearby, you WILL want to be able to walk far enough to get to it before it vanishes! (Hint - zoo's are amazing places to catch lots of different kinds of Pokemon. I found a Lapras at our local Zoo the other day! And Meowth, Psyduck, Pikachu, Squirtle and Charmander too! There were others, but I couldn't find them before they moved to new spots.)
