Day 09 - How you hope your future will be like.

I hope to have a future that is more calm and stress free, surrounded by nature and way from the noise and smells of a quickly growing city. I know lots of people look at cities as a place filled with places to go, things to do and people to see but it is also a place filled with almost constant noise, horrendous amounts of pollution and in many cases the only time you can see bits of wilderness/nature is if you find a park that (hopefully) has not been either polluted or taken over by drug dealers/gang members. And even then it is rarely more than a handful of trees, neatly cut grass and maybe a playground for the kids to play in. If there are more trees, then the changes of either criminal elements being there or a tent town homeless group making there home there (due to a horrendous lack of places for them to shelter themselves elsewhere) is rather high.

Nothing against the homeless. Personally I wish that some of the funds that go to the unnecessary 'upgrades' to the city would actually go to something more useful, like additional homeless shelters and soup kitchens. Failing to supply such things will not make the homeless go away, it will only show the utter lack of compassion on the part of those who could actually make a HUGE impact on their lives for the better.

I would love to get enough land someday that I could offer temporary shelter to some of the people in need, at least during cold winters or harsh storms. Although I would love to offer more long term solutions for them, as it became possible for me. Maybe shelter in exchange for help around the property, like picking up fallen branches, helping to do a chore here or there, things that are easy to do but still make a a big difference when everyone pitches in together. If I could grow enough food to donate to the homeless in the communities near where I end up living, that would be an amazing feeling, to make that kind of difference in someones life. And to know that what they were getting was grown WITHOUT chemicals, that it was actually something healthy for them. Yeah, I would love to be in a situation where I could not only take care of myself and my family members, but also the people that NEED that help the most.
