Something I Feel Strongly About
Void: Hmmm....
Void: If you can't respect a person's life/decisions/choices/or whatever else, then kindly F*CK OFF.
Void: I do not appreciate people who don't respect other people's willing choices (Sexuality, Gender, Political Alignment, etc).
Void: It's one thing to be curious to learn more about said choice, but it's really not your business what is in their pants, who they are with, or even what political affiliation they have.
Void: Plus!
Void: They are not necessarily obligated to 'debate' you if they think you're coming at them with the intent to fight, not debate.
Void: If you came at me over a piece of writing saying stuff like "you're a nazi!!!! DEBATE ME NAZI!!!" I'm not obligated to debate you.
Void: But if you come over, and you're like "Hey, I read this thing you wrote and I'm curious to understand why you think that way." I'd be like "Sure!" and I'd explain my ideas, and you'd explain yours, and we'd be respectful and polite and it'd be nice.
Void: And if we didn't agree, then oh well, at least we didn't attack each other.
Void: But if you think that's 'too hard' and it's easier to just shout at people and get them to shut up.
Void: No matter if you're 'on my side' or not.
Void: Get the f*ck out.
Void: We need mutually respectful debating on BOTH sides.
Void: Not "One Side controls the entire everything and the other side just has to shut up and take it"
Void: Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.
