Chapter 2
David Raymond told his son to take a seat as he closed his home office door and settled down.
"Michael we need to talk. Your mother and I have agreed that it is time you get married. You are turning thirty-five next month. We want to hold at least one grandchild in our hands son. Please give this some thought."
"Dad, I have thought about marriage but most of the women I meet only want me for my money."
"That is not a big problem son, the next lady you meet, don't mention who you really are, and just go with the flow of things. Besides its a good thing you keep a low profile, most of the companies we deal with only know your assistant right.
"Okay dad, I hear you. I will try out your plan, I hope something good comes out of it."
Leaving his parents house he headed back to his office as he dialed in his friend Benjamin. After telling him his dad's crazy plan, he asked him for his help, when the time came to implement in.
"No problem Mike, this will be rather entertaining on my part."
Walking into his building Matt his distributions manager looked excited, but on seeing his boss's serious expression, his also became serious.
"Walk with me Matt and spit it out. I have other things to take care of," he told him as he walked towards his elevator.
"Good day Mr Raymond. We...we have a problem. Mr Olsen has delayed with the next shipment of grey marble stone, and that stone is exactly what one of our clients requested."
Turning to him as they left his elevator he came to a halt looking down at him. He could see beads of sweat on his forehead as he awaited his response.
"And what does that have to do with me. Do I pay you to tell me problems or do I pay to make sure I don't have such problems?" he asked in a harsh tone.
"Si....sir...sir Mr Olsen is not picking up any of our calls."
Looking up he saw most of his employees looking in their direction.
"The last person to get back to work will lose his or job on the spot" he said in a venom laced tone as they quickly scurried off to their work stations. "Give the file to my PA," he said as he made his way to his office.
Joanna's POV
I spent my Friday with Tash, binge eating junk food and catching up on the weeks' activities. I knew my workout would be brutal for the next couple of weeks. Giving Jonathan the day off I spent part of my morning, working out in the gym. Morgan my butler brought me some water informing me I had a call from my mother.
"Darling, how are you, are you busy tomorrow? my mother Samantha asked.
"No mom, I will come over in the afternoon."
"Wonderful, I will tell your father right away. Take care and see you tomorrow sweety!"
"Goodbye mom," I said handing the phone over to Morgan.
"Please tell Susan to prepare a light breakfast for me Morgan."
"Yes mam," he said leaving the room.
Plugging on my earphones I let the music pump me up for my run on the treadmill.
Two hours of working out, I was satisfied for the weekend, I didn't want to wear myself out, or else I would be unable to function at full capacity at work. After having my breakfast I went out back and relaxed soaking up some sun. Jonathan came to inform me that he was around if I needed anything, though I had told him to go out and enjoy himself.
In the evening I decided to drive myself to the city to get some fresh drinks. The drive helped me clear my mind after spending the whole day pondering over why my mom desperately wanted me to come home. I enjoyed the freedom I had in my own house. Living under their room had its limitations as one could not do as they pleased all the time, e.g. playing my music out loud. As I drove I did not anticipate the heavens opening to spill out large volumes of water.
What made matters worse was that I did not see the man who was by the road in time to hit my brakes, as I heard a sickening thud.
Michaels POV
I had given my driver the weekend off, as I didn't require his services during the weekend. Driving myself back home after my day at the sports club playing basketball with Benjamin and a few other guys, I didn't expect my car to breakdown, as I slowly pulled over to the side of the road.
"This is just my lucky day," I mumbled to myself as I checked under the hood.
When I felt the first drops of rain I cursed my bad luck. Looking at my phone, I saw that my battery was dead. Not many cars came in this direction as Hillbright estates was far away from the city. I saw a pair of headlights coming my way as I quickly rushed out onto the road.
"Bad mistake Mike," I thought as the car knocked me down.
-------------
"Oh my gosh, are you alright! Please say something!" Joanna said as she knelt down and patted him looking for any broken bones. When she tried to move his arm, he winced in pain as she quickly let go of his arm.
"Can....can you stand up," she stammered worried now.
"Yes, I thing so, please help me up."
Getting ahold of his good arm, she struggled to help him up as he was twice her size and led him to her car.
"Wait what about my car."
"I'll get someone to come fetch it for you, right now we need to take care of this arm," she told him as she settled him into his car.
"Morgan, Jonathan! I need your help," she called out as she opened her passenger door. Susan call the doctor immediately!"
"Which room should we put him in," Morgan asked at they walked up the stairs ahead of me.
"Take him to my room, the others are not prepared."
"Well he is a lucky fellow, he just has a fractured arm, from what I can see, he will need an X-ray as soon as possible, the sling I placed will be good for only until tomorrow."
Giving him some pain medication, the doctor told her to check on him every two hours, and that he still needed to get examined in a hospital as there could be some internal damage.
"Thank you doctor," I told him as I let Morgan show him out.
After telling everyone to retire, she headed back to her room. Changing out of her wet clothes she put on something warm and comfortable, she noticed that the man she had hit, still had on wet clothes.
She called Jonathan asking him for some clothes as he was about the same size as the stranger. He brought up the clothes and left her after she told him about the strangers car. Softly shaking the stranger awake, she told him about changing his clothing.
Leaving the room to give maim some privacy, she came back only to find that he had managed to change his pants, and only had the good arm out of his shirt sleeve.
Sitting beside him she finally took a good look at him. His lips were slightly parted as if he was about to say something. He had a straight nose and strong jawline that accentuated his facial features. His eyes were the color of honey, and seemed to have specks of gold when he turned towards the light. She slowly helped him remove the shirt, making sure not to hurt his arm any further. Grabbing the waistline of his vest, she slowly peeled it off over his head, loving the feel of his muscles. The body of a Greek god, she thought to herself as she helped him into a dry shirt.
"Wait what am I doing he is a complete stranger," sh thought.
Afterwards he drifted off to sleep once more and she settled into a chair beside the bed.
This was her problem and she would have to deal with it. She needed to find out his name, were he lived and any other information that could be useful in contacting his family.
