Chapter 1

I only have one thing in life, have a peace of mind. But that all changes when Griffin started messing with my peaceful life. That's all I ever wanted, but on the other hand, he started messing with it.

My father who wishes to invite the person who meet the person who keeps giving me stuff at the campus. I was sharing it to them so when they had a chance to visit me on my place--a complicated stuff happened.

Caleb who was about to meet my parents suddenly texted me that he won't be able to come because of a sudden emergency. When that happens, I was about to tell it to my parents when someone knocked on the door.

I nearly fell on my seat when I heard the knocks on the door. I know Caleb was just making it all up. Sabik na sabik pa akong pumunta ng pintuan para pagbuksan ng pinto si Caleb, but I was too shocked when I opened the door. Nabato na lamang ako sa kinatatayuan ko nang makita ko si Griffin sa harapan ko.

"Griffin, anong ginagawa mo rito?"

"Can I come inside?"

Mabilis akong umiling sa request niya. I was on the verge of pushing him out of the house. "No. What are you doing in my place?"

"Can I just get inside for a minute? Please?"

Wala akong nagawa nang pagdaupin niya ang palad niya at siya na mismo ang nagpasok sa sarili niya sa bahay. He then shut the door behind him. I am too stunned to speak about what he's doing. 

Ang sunod na lamang na nangyari ay sumulpot sa likuran namin ay ang parents ko.

"Is this your admirer, Aneesa?" dad asked.

I was about to explain when Griffin steps in.

"Yes, sir," tugon nito. "Griffin Paulson," pagbati pa nito. Inilahad pa niya ang kanyang kamay, but my parents insisted on giving him a hug. 

Napalunok na lamang ako ng laway dahil hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko. When my parents then invited Griffin to the kitchen for the dinner, I quickly pulled Griffin out from them.

"Why did you say that?" I questioned. Matalim ang tinging ibinabato ko sa kanya. Hindi niya dapat ginawa 'yon. He doesn't have to right to come into my place and make a scene. "You should leave."

"Why would I do that?" he countered. "It seems like your parents love me."

I scoffed, rolling my head. "Ang assuming mo rin naman pala, 'no? They were expecting someone else and you've ruined it."

"Oh... I see... so where is your true admirer? Why didn't know his name?" he questioned me like throwing bullets on me. "Or did I just save the day for you?"

"No," mabilis kong sagot sa kanya. "You didn't save it. You're completely ruining everything because of your stupid act. Dadalhin kita sa kusina at ipapaalam ko sa kanila kung sino ka nga ba talaga."

Kinuha ko ang kamay niya at hinihigit ko na siyang pumunta ng kusina para ipaalam kung sino ba talaga 'tong mokong na 'to pero nagmatigas siya. He shoved my hands off of him.

"Is your admirer coming?" he asked.

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. "Wala ka ng pakialam kung darating o hindi iyon. You don't have the right para makialam sa buhay ko. Ni hindi nga tayo nag-uusap sa school. I bet you didn't know I exist and my name."

"You're Aneesa," he said, smirking. "Well, that's what they you called you, right?"

"Narinig mo lang 'yan sa papa ko. Please, just leave. I'll just make a reason kung bakit kailangan mong umalis. Sasabihin ko na lang na nagka-LBM ka bigla. Akong bahala, just stay out of my business."

"This is my business now," aniya. "And I believe you're parents are waiting for us in the kitchen. Let's go and see them."

Siya na ang kumuha ng braso ko at idinala ako sa kusina. Para bang alam na alam na niya kung saan ang pasikot-sikot sa loob ng bahay ko. Nang madatnan namin ang parents kong naghahanda sa kusina ay sabay-sabay na kaming umupo. Wala akong kawala kay Griffin dahil pinanindigan niyang siya 'yong admirer ko.

He sits across my parents habang katabi ko siya. It was easy for me to step on his foot kapag sumusobra na siya sa mga sinasabi niya. At kung makipag-usap sa parents ko ay akala mo magtagal na sila magkakakilala.

When they asked him about all the gifts and other stuff I was receiving from him, may agad na isasagot si Griffin. Para bang napagplanuhan na niya kung paano sisirain ang gabi ko. Pansin ko rin namang naniniwala sa mga pinagsasabi niya ang parents ko and if Griffin mistakenly said a word against me, magkakalagutan na.

"What did you like about my daughter, Griffin?" dad asked.

Napangiti si Griffin saka ako nilingon. His stares came right through me. "I mean, everything about her. I thought I won't be able to do this with her and have a dinner with her parents, but I'm glad that it all work out perfectly. Right, Aneesa?" Kindat pa nito sa akin.

Kumuyok ang kamao ko sa ilalim ng mesa. I know at that point, I had to step on his foot para matauhan siya. But when I did it, hindi man lang siya nasaktan. He just looked at me on the side of his eyes and make a grin on his face. Hindi ko alam kung bakit niya ginagawa 'to.

It could be a dare from his friends or what else.

Kung pinaglalaruan niya lang ako ngayon, this has to stop. But nope. My parents has another plan. Kinausap pa nila ito sa kung ano-anong bagay. I was already sending glares secretly to Griffin para paalisin na siya, but he made himself comfortable in my house so when I've got the chance to pull him out and talk to him alone, I know it was the time to push him out of the house.

"What you did is crazy."

"But I'm glad I did help you." Kindat pa nito sa akin. "Wala bang thank you?"

I smirked. "Asa ka pa. Umalis ka na at baka kung saan pa kita masipa ngayon."

He then covered his crotch area while walking out of the door. I immediately shut it off when he's finally out of the house. So, when I announced his sudden departure to my parents, ako naman ang na-hotseat at hindi nawala sa isipan ko ang sinabi nila sa akin.

Matutulog na lang ako, iyon pa ang nasa isip ko.

Griffin's a good guy. I hope he's the one for you, Aneesa.

Oh, for pete's sake, I hated that man and now to what he did, he's going to hell. Or maybe, he will make my life in hell for what he did. 

Gosh. What a fucking night.
