"Does it ever drive you crazy, just how fast the night changes? Everything that you've ever dreamed of disappearing when you wake up. But there's nothing to be afraid of, even when the night changes."

Not many people know this, but when I was younger, I was an extrovert. Surprised? Maybe not if you've known me for awhile and/or if you don't. LOL. Anyway, onto storytime. It's not terribly long, but please bare with me. 😝
Throwback: I was 10 when everything in my social life dramatically changed. Within two years (age 12), I had lost all my friends (they'd moved on), my immediate family reduced to three (no one died), my personality 180-ed, and I was only old enough to see what was happening but too young to do anything about it. My single mother had her hands full with legalities and distancing the person who had flipped my life and her's upside down to be present. With no outlets and no one to turn to, I bottled all of my feelings inside, suppressed it, kept it under lock and key lest I upset my mother for bringing them up. It was painful ... painful af - still is, tbh. To date, I've only told one person the entire story with my heart on my sleeve.
A/N: I'm not good with emotions when the spotlight's on me, so I hope that's sappy enough for you. 🙃 Since it's rather awkward to end this in a dull feeling, above is a photo of me in all my silly glory. 🙈
If you want to read something actually happy, I wrote about my adoption. I have it linked in the external section if you care.
