I looked out from under the bed sheets towards the nightstand where my simple black clock was sitting.  Two o'clock it read.  These past five night's at precisely two o'clock the noises would start.  The house wasn't moving or creaking, nor was any of my family members up and roaming around for something to eat in the kitchen.

I thought that for the first couple of nights, but then the noises became more repetitive and much louder than before.  The noises first were soft and slow, as if they didn't want to be heard.  The creaking of the wood extended slowly one by one with a second between what sounded like a footstep.  As each hour went by I started to be a bit more secure of the sounds I was hearing. Groans escalated into gasping coughs.  The whimpers of a lifeless life echoed through the hallway into my sensitive ears.

I looked back at the clock, it was one minute after two.   I couldn't stand it, this had been going on for too long.  Every time I heard the screeching sounds I refused to go and check it out.  I slowly and carefully slipped out of the blankets, my tippy toes just barely touching the wooden floor.  I slowly lifted my body off the mattress.  I froze as I hear a squeak from the old mattress, the noise of footsteps from the hallway stopped.  I bit my lip, hoping that whatever was in the hallway would ignore the squeak and move on. My heart started to beat rapidly in my chest.  The silence lasted only a moment, yet it felt like an eternity. I let out a deep breath that I didn't know I was holding, as I listened closely I heard the noise from outside my door increase in volume.

I carefully walked toward the door, my legs were shaking uncontrollably.  I stopped once I reached my destination. My shaking fingers tried to grasp the cold metal of the door handle.  My ear touched the wooden panel as I desperately tried to listen for any noise on the other side of the door.  Nothing but the faint creaks.

I took a deep breath and gathered up all my courage.  I slowly turned the handle, my ears searching for any unwanted sounds from the hallway.  The door quietly creaked as I pushed it open.  I peeked my head through the gap of the door, searching the hallway for any sign of life. I squinted my eyes looking through the darkness.  Focusing on the hallway before me, I listened for the sounds and walked down the staircase towards the open back door, when I saw a red-headed teenage girl, wearing a white night gown that looked like my sister, Rose. She looked like she was heading towards the shed.

I ran after her, keeping my distance, as she entered the shed.  As I got closer, the noise I have heard all these nights before was getting louder.  It was coming from the shed.  I peeked through the slightly opened door, as I saw Rose staring at the empty wall.  I focused my eyes to see clearer and I noticed she wasn't just staring at a wall, she was staring at a black shadow.  I looked around the shed, different sizes of shadows filled the now empty walls covering every inch.

The shadows had piercing crimson eyes, their human like bodies limply bounced as their groans became more of a low pitched humming.  The shadow that my sister was facing was bigger than the others, so I assumed it must be their leader, as it seemed to wear a tall hat on its slim head.

The leader started to sing it's loud voice over the others and as it sang in its deep masculine voice. The other shadows started to bounce off the walls, circling my sister, singing into her ears.  "For a full moon night, the demons may lust, the chosen of sacrifice, must be brought to dust" they sang.  I expected my sister to run or scream but she didn't. She stood there like a blind mouse. Unaware of what was happening. As if she couldn't move nor speak.

I couldn't take it anymore, the screeching song filled my brain.  I had to get her out of there.  I ran into the shadow filled shed and slipped through the dark figures that were trying to grab me, their song only getting louder the closer I got to Rose. One grabbed me from the arm and swung me over to another shadow close by.  "Five nights of learning, the sixth of sharing, demons are forever leering" they sang.  I managed to keep my balance and get away from the grasp of the other shadows.

As I dodged from the shadows reach. I called out my sister's name as loud as I could, "Rose! Rose!".  She didn't seem to hear me over the screaming song. I reached out for her arm and I dragged her through the shadows that still were chanting the haunting tune.  "For a full moon night, the demons may lust, the chosen of sacrifice, must be brought to dust".

I looked back at Rose, she was still in the shadows trance, her eyes slowly turning crimson red just as the shadows, her face was emotionless with no sign of her old self in her eyes. I started to get worried.  What if I couldn't get her out of this mysterious trance?  What are the shadows singing about?

Suddenly, I feel a thorny grasp on my ankle. Before I could try to get free, it pulled me down onto the floor. My head smashed against the concrete with a loud thud. I start getting pulled by the prickly hand that made my ankle sting. I can feel the thorns puncturing holes in my ankle. I scream as loud as I possibly could toward my sister over the shrilled singing. But as expected she did not move a muscle, still tranced by the darkness. So I scream louder, for anyone to hear, to come for me.

I glance down to the floor, spotting a trail of thick, red liquid on the concrete. Just noticing the sticky substance running down my cheek. I look behind me, getting a glance at my capturer. It stopped pulling on me and grabbed my two wrists. It stung like needles were puncturing through my skin, which it was.

The creature pulled me onto my feet, now limp on my bleeding ankle. I grunt, giving the creature a death stare. The skrilled singing suddenly stopped. A deathly silence hit like a wave. No more piercing song to make me cringe.

The limp figures created a circle around me. I look around to find my sister standing stiff between two other creatures. Still in the crimson eyed trance.

I pull my attention to the wall I was facing. The leader was still attached on the wooden wall. It opened its mouth and let out an aching scream. Pinching it's way into my ears, running through every inch of my body. It felt like a sword to my stomach.  The pain goes to my head, a huge migraine appears, chasing through every ally. Thorns piercing inside my blood. My muscles aching with every staggered breath I take. My heart pounding, desperate for this too stop.

Unwanted memories wash through my brain. Monsters stabbing innocent people as blood spilled onto the roads. Terrified screams fill my brain. I search around the shadow filled shed with my watering eyes. The walls were bleeding thick, sticky, red liquid. Pouring out onto the floor. The shed quickly began flooding, clinging onto my bare feet.

I start to choke, the feeling of a noose around my neck, tightening with every breath I make. My head screams for air.  My hands circle around my neck, trying to pull off something that wasn't there. I try to move my feet, but I was paralyzed. My body stiff from the amount of pain in my bones. A shock runs up my legs, into my torso. The pain getting worse and worse.

More screams shoot through my brain. Screeching and hollering make me shiver. All I want to do it to turn back. To move from this nightmare, and curl up in a ball. The screams were to hard to bare. The pain aching my bones. My legs tremble, and I splash into the pool of blood. It's everywhere now, all over my clothes and now red face. The choking wouldn't stop.  My fingernails scratching at my neck.

Hot tears pour down my face, burning my skin. Agony seeping through my body. I manage to get out a scrambled howl, throat burning in suffered pain.

I'm done! I'm done with your pain, I can't take it anymore. I scream in my head. Let me die already! I can't go through with this torture any longer! I scream as loud as I can in my mind. A trilling scream infiltrating my body.

My eyes start to get cloudy. I sway in a dizzy stance, side to side. The pain still searing through my body. Thorns still prick my blood. Screams still haunt my mind. A choking noose still tightening around my neck. And walls still bleed. And bleed. And bleed.

My unstable eyes gaze around the room. Shadows begun their chanting once again. Though I didn't hear what they were saying since their voices became so muffled.

I spot Rose standing there, her eyes were back to their unmistakable bright emerald colour. Her face was contorted in a horrified look. Her eyes red from the waterfall of tears falling down her face. Her body was trembling, but she stood in one spot, not moving any closer. Her body seemed to be twitching, like she was trying to force her way out. She was paralyzed by those shadows, just like I was. She yelled out my name in a haunting shrilling scream.

I faintly smiled at her reassuringly, but quickly faltered because of the pain. Rose begun to shake her head wildly, repeating no over and over again, with another yell of my name.

How I want to go up to her right now. To hold her in my arms. To run my fingers through her thick scarlet hair, that I've always loved. To whisper that it is okay, as she shed her hot tears on my shoulder.

          But I can't.

I'm trapped in my own choking body. Left to die in a shed in front of my own sister's watery eyes. Surrounded by terrifying shadow creatures, which are chanting the unforgettable tune.

Soon I will be free from this. Soon my sister would hopefully be safe from these dreaded creatures. Soon the bleeding walls won't have to haunt me anymore.

I took my last glance at my beautiful shivering sister. The choking world turned black. The agony started to swiftly fade away. I felt the thick liquid take over me, sticking to my thin hair and coating my rough skin. A faint smile spread onto my lips, it's going to be over, all of the pain will be done.

The last thing I heard was a shrilling, haunting scream. A cold shiver went down my aching spine. But this time it wasn't from the shadowy figures or my sister....

----------------------------------------------Dun dun duuuuunnnn!!!!!!

hehe😅 I hope you liked that scary story of mine. It's the first scary thing I've ever write before. Sooooo yeah.

Like before, the beginning of this story was written back in October, and I've read ELEVEN books since then. So my writing skills got waaaaayyyyy better. And shout out to Marissa Mayer who wrote The Lunar Chronicles (read it) for getting me the idea of the hallucinations the character had in my book, (You will know this if you read Winter.) like the bleeding walls and the choking noose thing.

Make sure to like and vote the story, and feel free to leave a comment.
bye bye! Hope you don't get nightmares!
