Day 12/29
I entered school with a big yawn and sleepy eyes. The nightmare I had back at Jungkook's house returned again, making it impossible for me to sleep comfortably. I sighed as I sat in my seat, mentally preparing myself for the school day.
Minutes later, Jungkook walked in with his hands shoved in his pockets and a scowl on his face. Before I could greet him good morning, he passed right by without giving me a single glance. I buried my head in my arms while grumbling about him being so rude sometimes until classes started for the day.
When lunch came, I pulled out my lunch box and set it on my desk. I looked around the class for Jungkook, thinking about eating lunch with him for once, but he was nowhere to be found.
Jeez, how good is he at disappearing?
I opened my lunch box and slowly ate while keeping my eyes glued to the classroom door, actually anticipating Jimin's arrival.
"Who're you lookin' for?"
I jumped in my seat and hit my knee on my desk. I turned around to see Jimin laughing while clutching his stomach. While rubbed my knee, I glared at him before turning back and eating again.
"Have neither of the princes returned for their princess?"
"Quit saying that. How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not a princess and that no one is a prince? I thought demons were suppose to be smarter than humans."
"Now, now, don't get so mad just 'cause I called you princess instead of queen."
"Park Jimin, shut up right now before I shove my chopsticks up your nose."
"Ooh, I'd love to see you try, My
Queen."
"I swear, if you weren't dead already, I'd kill you."
"Don't be stupid. That's one of the worst mistakes a human can do, and they'll regret it with everything they have left."
Jimin gave me a serious look as he replied to my stupid slip up.
"Oh, shit. Sorry, I didn't mean to bring that up."
"It's fine. Whatever."
I watched as he pulled out a piece of candy from his pocket. He popped it in his mouth while staring off into the distance. I quietly ate, scolding myself for making such an idiotic slip up. Jimin soon finished his treat and returned his attention back to me.
"So, how much progress did you make with prince number two?"
"What progress? I have no idea what you're talking about."
He chucked at my quick response and just rolled his eyes playfully.
"Mhm, sure. I'll let that one go for now, but if you lie to me again, I don't know what'll become of you."
"I don't need you threatening me, Jimin. Just shut up and finish my lunch for me, I lost my appetite while looking at your face."
"It would be an honor to, My Queeー"
I shoved my chopsticks into his mouth and handed him my lunch box with a sharp glare. He snickered before eating from my lunch box. We sat quietly, him eating and me watching him while waiting for time to pass. There was a question floating around in my mind that I couldn't seem to get rid of. Unable to stop myself, I let it slip from my mouth.
"Who did you kill?"
Jimin didn't give me a reaction or any sign that he was actually listen as we continued to eat. My
curiosity grew larger but I found myself feeling slightly relieved that he didn't hear me. Or that's what I thought. A minute after I asked, I heard him place the chopsticks down and chuckle.
"You really don't beat around the bush, do you?"
"S-sorry. You don't have to tell me, my curiosity got the best of me."
"It's fine, I'll tell you. There's no reason for me not to, anyway."
He closed my lunch box and handed it back to me without finish it.
"Just not right now. It's not a good time. I'm not ready for another person I care about to think I'm totally insane yet."
"W-what?"
He smiled at me before laughed lightly and turning around. He hummed a minor tune while throwing me a wave and leaving the class as the bell rang. I stared at the empty space where he sat before leaving a moment ago and pondered on his words until the owner of the chair Jimin had pulled up came to retrieve it. She gave me a look before dragging her chair back to her seat. I mumbled a quiet sorry before looking around to see if Jungkook had come back. Sure enough, he walked into the class with his hair ruffled and looking annoyed. I made a quick note to myself to check on him when classes ended and returned my attention to the starting lesson.
Once the last bell rang, I shoved my notebooks into my backpack and debated whether or not to talk to Jungkook. He looked angry as he shoved his supplies in his backpack. I decided to cautiously approached him with my hand tightly gripping the strap of my backpack.
"J-Jungkook? Are you okay?"
He looked up after zipping up his bookbag and his expression softened, making him look a little less mad now.
"I'm fine. Do you want to walk hoー"
Jungkook was interrupted by his phone which blared loudly from his pocket. He gave a sheepish smile before answering his phone. His sheepish smile immediately hardened seconds after his phone touched his ear. He turned around as he yelled in a harsh whisper, leaving me standing there awkwardly, waiting for him to finish. After waiting for two minutes, I felt self-conscious just standing there. I opened my mouth to remind Jungkook that I was still here when I felt a strong grip on my wrist.
"Let's go."
Jungkook and I turned to see Jimin with a menacing glare and his backpack thrown over one shoulder.
"But Jungkook and I are goー"
"No, I told you I'd tell you something, remember? Now c'mon."
"Wait, Jimin, I'm almost doー"
Jungkook tried to grab me by my other wrist but it was too late as Jimin had already pulled me away and out of the classroom.
"Hey, hold on! That was rude, Jimin, you can't just puー"
"I can do what I want. You didn't want to be there either, right?"
I stayed silent at his true statement. He stopped in the middle of the hallway and moved his hand from my wrist to my hand. He shot me a satisfied smile before turning back around and guiding me out of the school, hand in hand.
