Day 11/29

I sat quietly at my desk while staring at my phone. I was looking at the picture of Jungkook and his little cousin watching TV together. I felt myself smile at the picture, giggling to myself at how adorable they looked.

"I thought I told you to delete that."

I jumped in my chair, surprised to hear his voice from so close behind my ear. I could feel my heart beating against my chest as I turned to see him. He raised his hand to cover his smirk as he snickered quietly.

"God, you scared me, Jungkook."

"Sorry, my bad. You're just so easy to scare."

He leaned over my shoulder to look at the picture on my phone. I saw the amulet I gave him dangling on a chain around his neck, causing me to smile.

"Fine."

"Huh?"

"The photo, I'll let you keep it."

"Hmph, I wasn't going to delete it anyway."

Before he could reply, the classroom door slid open to reveal our teacher. Jungkook walked to his seat and sat as class started for the day. When lunch period came, I pulled out my lunch from my backpack and let a smile spread across my face at the sight of the food my mother had made for me. I heard a chair scrape the floor along with someone clearing their throat in front of me. Jimin had pulled a chair up to my desk and now sat in front of me while staring at me with a sly smile.

"I've come to keep you company, Your Highness."

He gave me a 'V' sign with his fingers as I rolled my eyes at him before starting to eat. He watched me as I slowly ate and I noticed his eyes watching the food going from my

lunch box to my mouth. I tried to ignore it, but soon, he started to drool while staring at me with pleading eyes.

"Gross, Park Jimin. Just take some, I don't need you drooling all over my desk."

I saw his eyes light up and immediately, he devoured the rest of my lunch. I watched as he inhaled the food as if he hadn't eaten in weeks and a question from a few days ago appeared in my mind again.

"How'd you end up like this?"

Jimin paused for a moment, staring at me with confusion in his eyes. He finished chewing the food in his mouth before asking me what I meant.

"You're like a devil or a demon, right?"

"Indeed, I am."

"How'd you end up as one? You don't seem like a bad person, so I was just kind of wondering..."

"I killed someone."

He looked at me for a few seconds before resuming his feast. I stared at him wide-eyed in shock. I couldn't believe the words that just came out of his mouth.

He killed someone? At this age? What the hell was he thinking?!

"Don't look at me like that. I've already been treated like a psychopath long enough, I don't need to experience it again."

"S-sorry..."

We both sat in silence as he ate. His smile was gone, now replaced with a dull, straight face. I felt myself becoming more and more curious as I thought about his reply more and more. Lost in thought, I almost didn't notice him finishing and standing up to leave.

"Wait, Jimin! Why'd you do it..?"

He turned around to face me again and I saw that he wore a sad smile on his face, his mismatched eyes showing.

"You

know what they say. Love makes you do crazy things."

With that, he walked out of the classroom, leaving me in a confused state of mind. The bell rang, signalling that lunch period was over. Without a choice, I packed away my lunch box and refocused my attention to the next class.

When the last bell rang, I let out an exasperated sigh before sluggishly packing my backpack. I saw Jungkook walking down the aisle of desks with his phone pressed to his ear. In a rush, I pulled my backpack over my shoulder and stepped out from behind my desk to ask if we could walk home together instead of me just following him, but I was blatantly ignored and his shoulder slammed into mine as he walked out of the classroom while talking on the phone.

I grabbed the edge of my desk to stop myself from falling back. What the hell was that about? I straightened myself out and headed out of the building feeling hurt and angry. I saw Jimin laying on one of the school benches with his backpack under his head and his arm thrown over his eyes to block the sunlight. I approached him and pulled his backpack out from under his head, causing him to hit it on the bench.

"Ow, what the hell?"

He sat up while glaring. I handed him his backpack back and sat down on the bench next to him. He looked at me in confusion.

"What are you doing?"

"Sitting, what else does it look like?"

"There was a bench next to this one, why didn't you just sit there, gosh."

I ignored his complaint and just sat there with my head turned away and my arms crossed. I heard him chuckled as he laid his feet on my lap.

"What's with that face, Princess?"

"Nothing."

"Did prince number two piss you off?"

"Shut up, Jimin. I'm not a princess and no one is a prince."

"What? So you want to be a queen now? Well, if that's what the Highness wants, I guess I have no choiー"

I pushed Jimin off the bench before he could finish his sentence. He got up and glared at me before sitting back down.

"Alright, fine. Loosen up, Princess, you'll get wrinkles if you frown too much."

He reached over and lifted the corners of my mouth until we both bursted out in laughter. I found it almost impossible to believe that he was actually a demon. After a minute, we were both trying to recompose ourselves from laughing too hard and we sat in silence, staring at the blue sky that hung above us.

"Is there anything you regret doing before your death?"

"Of course, who doesn't?"

"What's your biggest regret?"

"Disappointing her."

We stayed silent once more, watching students walk home looking excited to finally be going home on a Monday. I heard Jimin chuckle as he finally rose off the bench. He threw his backpack on and crossed his arms behind his head.

"Let's not get so gloomy, it's only a Monday. What'd I tell you about frowning?"

I rolled my eyes at him and forced a smile before giggling again. He ruffled my hair before turning and walking out of the school gates. He threw a wave behind his shoulder while sending me a smile.

"See you tomorrow, Princess."
