     SITTING IN HER TRAILER, VANESSA looks up when there's a knock on the door. "Come in!" She looks back down at her phone, texting Colton a quick goodbye as the door opens. Stepping inside is a PA, who she recognizes as a sweet girl named Kimber. "Hey Kimber, what's up?"

     "Hey, Nessa, you're wanted on set." She smiles at her politely. "They're about ready to shoot some of the final act scenes, and they wanted to start with the garden scene."

"Perfect!" She's already dressed for the scene. She's in a baby blue long sleeve with navy blue sleeves paired with some dark wash jeans. The clothes are all covered in fake blood, due to the scene in the movie taking place after Dewey's death. That scene had been filmed a few days prior so the clothes could be messed up for today's scenes. Now, they had to film her and Mason, as Chad and Carina, are chased through the garden and attacked by Ghostface.

Make-up would have to come in after they shot the initial chase scene in order to finish her look for the rest of the scenes they were going to film today. They'd have to rip up the back of her shirt, riddling her back with fake lacerations and blood, and make her looked ruffled up from running in the garden and being attacked by Ghostface.

But for now, she stands from her chair and follows Kimber to set, asking questions about her dog. She remembered her taking the day off two days ago to take him to the vet.

     Successfully making it there, she found Mason and one of their directors talking in front of the porch steps. "Hey!"

     Turning to look at her, they both smiled. "Hey, so, we're going to start filming you walking up to Chad and your interaction on the porch, and try to film through the attack. We'll obviously have to give it a few gos, but are you comfortable enough with the scene and the blocking to try that?"

     "Yeah!" she confirms, pushing her hands into her pockets. "Sounds good to me, do you want me to start behind the camera and it'll get me walking in from the back, and just edit it however with the drop-off scene?" They also filmed that the other day, so they didn't need to worry about it anymore.

     "Sounds perfect. Let's get into places?"

     Both Mason and Vanessa agree. Mason smiles at her while squeezing her arm quickly before stepping away to stand in the front porch light. He's handed a candlestick and a phone, and Vanessa makes her way behind the camera and waits for her cue.

     "Alright, anddd action!"

CARINA ROTH walks up the driveway of the FREEMAN house, surprised to run into CHAD MEEKS-MARTIN.

     CARINA: (jokingly)
Hey. Are we about to kill Mr. Green with the candlestick in the garden?

CHAD: (smiling)
There you are, we were wondering how you guys were holding up over there.

CARINA: (flinches)

CHAD: (concerned)
Woah, what happened? Are you okay?

CARINA walks up to him, and CHAD drops the candlestick to grab her.

CHAD: (panicked)
Carina, oh my god. Are you hurt? Whose blood is this?

     CARINA: (numbly)
Forgot about that.

CARINA: (breathing deeply)
It's okay, it's not mine. It's Dewey's, actually. Uh, Ghostface they...they killed him while we were at the hospital.

CHAD: (painfully)
Fuck, Carina. I know how much he meant to you, I'm sorry.

CHAD hugs CARINA close to him. Sinking into it, CARINA feels CHAD place his chin on her head*. A couple of beats later, CARINA pulls away.

CARINA: (confused)
Wait, what are you doing out here with a candlestick?

     CHAD: (chuckling)
I came out here to look for Liv. She ran out on me earlier and I don't really want her wandering around on her own.

CARINA: (scowling)
So what, you're going to do exactly that instead? There's a fucking psycho running around. That's how to get killed 101.

CHAD scans the girls face.

CARINA: (feeling awkward)
What?

     CHAD: (smiling)
Nothing.

A phone pings. CHAD bends to pick up the candlestick.

CHAD: (subdued)
Well, I'm gonna go find Liv, either you can come with me or head on into the party.

CARINA: (decidedly)
Alright, lead the way.

CHAD: (surprised)
You're actually going to follow me into the woods right now? What if I'm Ghostface?

     CARINA: (annoyed)
Don't, Chad. I don't want to believe you could be a psycho.

CHAD stares at her. Shrugging, he starts toward the right.

CHAD: (calling)
Liv?

A phone beeps repeatedly.

CHAD: (confused)
I don't get it, it says she should be right here.

CARINA scans the area.

     CARINA: (direct)
Well, obviously she's not, so let's-

Stopping short, CARINA is shocked by something off-screen.

     CARINA: (alarmed)
Chad!

CHAD turns around, faced with GHOSTFACE. A blade comes down at him that he deflects as he pushes CARINA out of the way. GHOSTFACE directs the blade into the meat of CHAD'S thigh.

     CHAD: (in pain)
Ah!

CARINA grabs a discarded candlestick and slams it on GHOSTFACE'S head. CHAD pushes GHOSTFACE into the bushes and grabs CARINA'S hand, running away. Halfway across the yard, CHAD trips.

     CARINA: (frustrated & scared)
Fuck!

Picking CHAD up, the two run around a shed to use as cover. CHAD pulls out a phone, but CARINA takes it and turns it off. After, CHAD throws it into the woods.

     CARINA: (whispering)
We have to get you back to the house.

CHAD nods and peaks his head around the corner. Taking a deep breath, he grabs CARINA'S hand and starts running. The two are slow due to the leg injury.

The shed doors fly open, GHOSTFACE runs out with a blade held high and glimmering in the moonlight. Once close enough, GHOSTFACE strikes CARINA, and the girl falls to the ground.

     CHAD: (angry)
Don't you fucking touch her!*

GHOSTFACE bends to cut CARINA with their blade again, stopped when CHAD hits them. GHOSTFACE turns the blade on CHAD, who falls next to CARINA'S body. GHOSTFACE'S attention falls to CHAD.

CARINA opens her eyes and looks at CHAD, reaching out a hand to grab his*.

Lights flash ahead. GHOSTFACE runs away.

*off-script, improvised

"And, CUT! Okay, you two, don't move. That was beautiful. I think we might have gotten it in one take. We're going to have make-up come in and do some changes to Vanessa's back, while we set everyone up in the house, and then we're going to go ahead and pick up right there with Sonia and Vanessa to do the next scene."

Vanessa, instructed not to move, opens her eyes to be met with the sight of Mason already looking at her. Their hands are still together, and she couldn't explain to you why she had done so in the first place if you asked. Sure, it seemed to make sense for their characters, but she wasn't thinking about their characters when she did it.

     No, all she was thinking about was Mason laying there after taking a blade, even if fake. It had felt so real, that she had needed to reach out and touch to know he was still there. She thinks he might have felt the same way when he squeezed her fingers in response.

     "You okay?" he asks, cheek a little squished on the ground. She grins at the sight.

     "Yeah, I'm good. Proud of us, that wasn't necessarily an easy scene." And it wasn't, it was rare to get a kill scene in one go, especially with multiple people.

     "Me too." He squeezes her fingers again. "I'm so fucking proud of you." For a moment, it almost sounds like he's choked up. She blinks, something almost like tears clouding her vision. "Thanks, Mace. That means a lot."

     "I mean it, Nes. You're one of the most talented people I know. It shouldn't be a surprise you did it so well." He sounds so sincere, and Vanessa hates that she doesn't have to words to tell him that hearing that from him means so much to her. Almost everything.

     Before she can even come close, the director yells out again. "Alright everyone, places!"

     It hits her then that's she going to act as if Chad is close to dead, meaning Mason is going to look like it, and she shudders. The acting for that might not be too hard in the end.
