     SET'S ALIVE AND BUSTLING AS Vanessa makes her way from her trailer to another part of set. They're shooting Keira's death scene today, which means she has to try to mentally prepare herself for a multitude of things.

     For one, she has to watch and act as if Keira, as the Heather to her Carina at the time, is being murdered right in front of her. And two, she has some emotionally taxing scenes she has to complete with none other than Mason.

     When Keira's killed off in the movie, it's done on the set for Woodsboro's library. Carina is driven there by Mindy, but comforted by Chad throughout the entire scene, due to it following directly after the group scene at the Meek-Martin's.

     It's scripted that Carina is held back by Chad and ends up burrowing herself in his arms after watching her mother be murdered, and Vanessa knows there's a good chance the scene is going to need to be re-shot more than once. Not to mention they hold hands for practically the whole thing. This meaning she's going to have to get real used to being in Mason's arms for the day. If only that was as actually as hard as it should be.

     She pulled from her thoughts when she makes it to the set of Woodsboro's Library. Mason and Jasmin are already there, and she bounds over to them.

     "Hello!" she greets, immediately met with smiles from her co-workers.

     Jasmin puts a hand on her arm looks at her excitedly. "Hey! Some of us are going to grab coffee after this scene, you want to come?"

     She doesn't have any other scenes to film following this one, so she can't think of any reason why she wouldn't. "Sure," she answers. "Who's going?"

     "You, me, Mason, Jenna, Mikey, and Dylan."

     Mason gives her a smile that almost seems secret and adds, "And Iggy."

     Vanessa positively lights up at the news of Mason's dog being included in their coffee plans.

     Mason got Iggy a few months into quarantine, meaning a little while after they broke up. So while she never got the pleasure of meeting Mason's fur baby, he knows how much she adores dogs and has always wanted one of her own. For a while in the more serious times of their relationships, the two even teased adopting one together. Obviously, things don't always work out how you wish they would.

     Nonetheless she can't wait to meet Iggy, and from the look he's sending her, Mason knows it too.

     "Well there's no way I'm missing out on meeting Iggy. Sorry Mason, might just steal your dog while I'm at it."

     He gasps, but his eyes are too warm and fond to fully pull off the offended look he's trying for. "You wouldn't dare."

     "Oh, just try me."

     The two laugh brightly, and for a brief, blissful second, Vanessa forgets where she is. Forgets what the past year looked like for her and the person in front of her. Forgets anything but the love and happiness that come with knowing and getting to be with the human in front of her.

     Thankfully, before more damage can be done to her heart today, Tyler, one of their directors, shouts out.

     "Alright, we ready to shoot?"

     Everyone gives some kind of confirmation, and Vanessa shakes herself, forcing herself to remember that everything that's about to happen is Carina. The feelings she's about to experience and things Carina feels for Chad, and nothing else.

     (She's really bad at lying to herself.)
