Every relationship she had or attempted was ripped apart by the media, no one deemed "good enough" to love America's Sweetheart. It didn't hurt every time, but it almost killed her once.

EXTRA: okay so to explain! this fic loosely follows the timeline of filming scream 5 and 6. vanessa and mason dated from november 2017-august 2019. vanessa would've been 23-25 and mason would've been 21-22 (turning 23 in nov). they got casted for scream a year later, 2020. when filming starts in september, vanessa will be 26 and mason will still be 23. but don't worry it'll all come together!! i'm so so so excited for this omg
