5:20 P.M.
"Gwiyeopda," I mumble.
Brendon looks over at me. "What was that?"
My eyes widen. "Uhh... Nothing."
"Suspicious..."
"I was just muttering to myself in Korean is all."
"Oh I see..." Brendon raises an eyebrow. "What were you saying?"
"Stuff."
"I wanna know!"
I sigh. I said 'you're cute', but I really don't want him to know that. "I'll teach you some Korean, if you want."
"Yeah!"
"Alright. Well I don't know that much, I'm only learning."
"That's fine. Just teach me what you know."
"Alright. Yeom so is goat, bogoshipida is I miss you, gwaenchanha is I'm okay, kuki is cookie, and haengbokae is I'm happy. And then there's yeppeuda, gwiyeodpa, jagiya, aegyo, and saranghae."
"Saranghae," Brendon repeats.
"Yep." He has no idea he just said 'I love you'.
"What do those last ones mean? You never said."
"Because maybe I don't want you to know."
"Then why'd you teach me? I can just look it up, now."
Dang it. He pulls out his phone. I whack it out of his hand and it hits the carpet. We both stare at it for a minute. I hope it didn't break. I don't really have the money to pay for a replacement.
"Fine. If you don't want me to know, I won't look them up. But I'm on to you, y/n. Don't think you and the Illuminati can fool me." Brendon picks up his phone.
"The Illuminati? Naw. I'm not part of that," I say. "Poppy is the Illuminati, not me. I'm just an innocent person trying to make it through life."
