Chapter 3

Allyn's story

[In brief]

Allyn and Dysen were dating when she was pregnant. Unfortunately, three months after their daughter's birth, they break up and she starts dating Simon. Dysen is crushed and cannot put up with them being together. How will things end?

***

Love is just an illusion. This is what I learnt during my awfully emotional pregnancy. Yeah, I can say that again. My life has been a roller coaster in the last two years and now the only thing I want is just a little of peace. After all, I am not asking for anything more.

***

When I got pregnant by my then boyfriend Dysen Bivings, I was sixteen while he was nineteen. When our relationship began, two years before, we used to go on quite well, but then, as soon as he made me pregnant, things went rocky.

Not that he was cheating on me (he isn't a player at all), but he was starting feeling quite uncomfortable. He felt we were rushing things way too much, but, after all, it was all his fault if I ended up being pregnant. So, this led to arguments. Lots of arguments.

And, believe me, when he is angry, he reacts very badly. I thought at that time he had massive anger issues he still couldn't manage on his own, to the point that his mother convinced (better say, forced) him to take part in an anger management course.

Well, in the end it worked and he was way calmer. We were still working to improve our relationship, all for the sake of our baby. Dysen was an awesome guy at that time: he always helped me, he always cared about me, and, furthermore, we never argued.

We started planning our future, and he confessed he wanted to marry me. He was so excited when he said these exact words. I, on the other hand, was not that excited, and, to be honest, had to admit he was rushing things way too much. When I pointed him out this, he exploded, "So, what on hell is the point? Do you want me to be here in yours and our child's life?"

Then, he calmed down and took a deep breath. After all, I was his girlfriend, and deserved a little of respect.

Months later...

I gave birth to a daughter, Sydnee Evanna. She was very cute. She was so cute that made us forget about our personal problems for very long.

Things went on well during the following three months: he studied and worked, I studied and mainly raised our daughter. He tried to help as much as he could, but, honestly, that was not enough. He seemed not to have put much effort, so he worked even harder, pushing himself over the limit. But I still felt that wasn't enough. He saw his daughter relatively little, compared to me, due to his job, but I couldn't fully believe him.

One day, I was getting fed up with him coming back late from work and even suspected he was cheating on me, but then he accused me of lying. He was right, after all. Though I didn't like him dedicating more time to his job than to his daughter. He needed to shape up.

So, I decided it was high time to confront him and his absurd behavior.

"Listen, Dysen," I began, "we can't go on like this. You work all the time, and hardly ever see your daughter. This is not fair at all, you should know."

He retorted, "Allyn, I am not working for myself. I am working for my family!" He put high emphasis on the word 'family', like it was the most important thing for him. But I still didn't believe him.

"Dysen, if we cannot agree with anything, then we should end this relationship."

"No! You must be kidding! We are not ending this after all the effort we made! Allyn, believe me, you're going to regret this..."

"Save it. We are over." My arms were crossed as I pronounced the crucial sentence. Dysen was crushed, he still couldn't believe I had split up with him. He packed and then left without saying goodbye to Sydnee and crying his eyes out. But the true truth was that things between me and him couldn't work well at all.

Three other months later...

I was over with Dysen. But he wasn't over with me. He refused to date anybody else and did whatever he could to get back to me. When I had too much to do, he took care of Sydnee and brought her at his house. Meanwhile, I found a new boyfriend, Simon, with whom I got on much better.

I knew I loved Simon, and even started considering marrying him. But, for some reason, Dysen was still there in the surroundings, stalking me and my daughter. I wanted full custody of my child, but, unfortunately, he hired a lawyer and I had to share it with him.

Particularly, one day, I was really getting fed up of him constantly coming round at my place. I needed protection. Luckily, Simon was there with me and could help me to throw Dysen out of my life for good.

But Dysen was actually there. And I knew what he actually might do.

"What the hell!" scowled Simon. He disliked Dysen because of his insistence.

"Oh no!" I commented.

The two boys were close to each other. Glaring at each other, they were about to insult each other.

"What are you doing here, you dickface?" asked Simon quite rudely, I have to admit.

"It's you who is the dickface," replied Dysen coldly, then he exploded, "How dare you take my place as my daughter's father? You are nobody to do that!"

"You are nobody," hissed Simon.

"Shut up!"

Dysen punched Simon's face, and viceversa. Simon kept hitting Dysen, and that was becoming increasingly irritating and embarrassing at the same time. I tried to bring back peace and yelled, "Both of you! Stop it!" while Sydnee was crying. However, Dysen took the baby and her stuff and put them all in his car. He yelled, "Choose: your daughter or Simon!" then he left, never to return.

I was crushed. Simon attempted to persuade me to call the cops, but I gave up. Maybe I wasn't ready to become a mother yet.

Two years later...

Sydnee is still living with Dysen. He is still single and solely focusing on her. He wants to win my love back, but I'm just not ready to forgive him and ask for forgiveness.

As of now, I am no longer with Simon. He immediately broke up with me and fled with another girl. After all, he isn't that good, and his behavior is proof that I shouldn't have trusted him.

Yeah, love is just a silly illusion.
