With help from Seamus, Dean and Neville, Posie had more ground cover than she had expected. She'd agreed to meet them again in the abandoned classroom of 105b on the fourth floor, as they promised to exchange information there, by the end of the week.
Before leaving, Seamus had shared a piece of information with her, saying that many students believed that Potter was behind the attack or 'prank' as he put it. And with his all so brilliant entrance of the start of the year, with the flying car, it didn't take much convincing that it wasn't. The Weasely twins weren't any help as they concreted this foolish idea. From what she heard from the three, at times they would accompany Harry around cheering him on as if he was a famous Quidditch player.
Posie frowned at their foolish behavior and couldn't believed she felt pity for Harry for having so much unneeded attention on him.
Soon, Posie paused midway as she felt as if a bolt of lighten have course through her body. Quidditch!? If she'd remembered clearly, didn't she signed up for a position earlier this month? She sighed at the thought, how foolish of her, why didn't she listen to Pansy and Millicent? In matters of two days time there would be try-outs, she also remembered a promised Draco had made with helping her.
At first she was thrill at the idea. From her frequent visits to the Malfoy manor Posie had seen first hand on how amazing he was at flying, it seems so natural to the blonde. Almost like breathing or how natural it came to Posie to remember her notes or spells. She was also saddened at the fact that Draco hadn't gotten any real recognition for his natural Quidditch skills, she would loved to blame it on Potter, but she thought better of it.
The real reason as to why she was so angry at him when he bought his way in, was because now, no-one would be able to acknowledge his skill since everyone would be too focus on his broom and how he had bought himself in.
Too bad Draco didn't knew and the way things were tense between them at the moment, Posie highly doubted that he would be waiting for her down at the stadium with Pansy and Millicent. So with that she headed to her dormitory. Still thinking of whether or not she should show up at the try-outs Tuesday evening had leave Posie with an unpleasant feeling inside her stomach as she opened the door to the dormitory to only hear a voice whispering furiously.
"Shh I will think of something Sebastian!" the voice said heatedly. Posie perked at the name, Sebastian? She tried to remember if anyone in Slytherin bear the name but her mind came up blank. With her curiosity getting the better of her Posie burst the door open to reveal Dahlia hunched over her night-table, her hair in a terrible state and skin so pale that it rival snow.
She hadn't saw anything so disastrous other than some first years whom was down with he flu, due to them being exposed to the new environment.
"D-Dahlia?" the words left her lips with precariousness. Swiftly, as though her words were fire Dahlia stumble to face a disbelieved Posie.
Quickly, Dahlia's prey-ful expression quickly shifted to a more bitter visage. Trying her best to be the once poise self which Posie knew and love but failed adversely.
"What do you want?" she spat as if the words on her tongue were distasteful. Posie face coiled, saddened by her former friend respond.
"Are you okay, you don't look well?" Posie continued nonetheless, trying her best to forget Dahlia's coldness.
Dahlia shifted uncomfortable under her stare, her hands behind her back. Time between the two seemed to moved like a turtle crawling up a lubricant wall.
"Why do you care? You don't look better yourself, so why don't you try to fix your own business other than poking you nose in others?" she fired.
"W-what that supposed to mean-"
Posie tried to speak but Dahlia beat her to it, "It's mean why you had to be so chatty and inquisitive about everything? It is so annoying. No wonder you and Draco had a fall out. Pestering others about their life, while your yours is in total shambles . You're positively pathetic Posie and it is no wonder you don't have any friends..."before she could finish Pansy stepped into the room with Millicent behind her .
Suddenly the once spacious and luxurious room now fell too small to house the girls. The air was almost poisonous as Posie, whom had now refused to breathe, had she had believed it certainly would killed her.
Millicent was the first to speak, "Wow, Dahlia haven't you heard of a mirror, they're tons for free in the girl's lavatory if you didn't know. Also I have some make-up in bag, you can borrow some if you want, but please don't imply upon it more than once. I'm not charity you know."
"Don't waste your time Milly, clearly she'll need more than make-up to hide her distasteful personality." quipped Pansy as she handed Dahlia an equally nasty stare. Without anymore words from the raven haired girl, she shoved herself through the two newcomers, excusing herself from the room.
It felt like a century for Posie before she could feel anything and by then, her legs, which could no longer support her weight, broke under her weight. She had expected to meet the cold floor beneath her, however, instead, fell into Millient arms whom tightened her hold onto her tiny frame. The red hair girl fight her way through her restrained.
However, her fight was fruitless, as in the end, Millicent was like a python which tighten her hold every time Posie resisted. As though she was forcefully squeezing her emotion through her mask she had created.
"It's okay Posie." coed Millicent, Posie shook her head, no, they were wrong. Everything was not okay. What did she ever did that made Dahlia hated her so much? Was she not a good friend? Where they even friends to begin with?
And with that Posie break.
She was like a river that which had broke it's dikes as she overtopped into Millicent arms.
The two Slytherin girls remained silent as they decided Posie needed silent at that time as they solemnly watched her cried. Even though her body ached from Millicent hold, she let her tears flowed. She cried until she empty out her already void body. She felt so stupid, she felt useless. Her relationship with her mother also came tumbling unto the bundle of load.
How could one person be this pathetic? Posie wondered. Dahlia word came back like an Australian boomerang, "You're positively pathetic...". Hearing someone affiring something she did already know make her feel
"I know," Posie whispered under her breath, her salted tears stained her swollen face.
Not long after she dried her nose in a handkerchief that Pansy handed her before rubbing her puffy red eyes.
"T-thanks Millicent. Sorry that I soiled your shirt" said Posie, her words fighting through the hiccups in between.
"No problem, it was getting worn out and I was looking for an excuse to throw it away anyways."
Posie gave a weak smile before she sniffed loudly," Still I'm sorry." Millicent waved her off.
"It's nothing ,"
Posie slowly made her way over to her bed, everything Dahlia had said came back slapping her in her face.
"If you want someone to talk to I'm here?" offered Millicent weakly as her eyes bounced back from the red head to Pansy.
"It's good. I don't want to bother you two with my trouble. After all, Mr. Bins essay is due tomorrow and I haven't yet explained as to why the Goblins started the riot." Posie turned her back to the two as she started to search through her trunk. Millient wringed her hand, trying hard not to collapsed in the stiff environment.
"Are you sure?" asked Millicent.
"Yes I am. So can you bug off already!" exclaimed Posie as she threw her parchment onto the bed.
"Hey. I got it that things quite messy right now. But that don't give you any right to be so mean to Milly." said Pansy as she throtted over to Posie, tugging the parchment from her hands. She tried to recover the item but Pansy had already handed it to Millicent. After a pointless banter at trying to recover the parchment, Posie gave up. Still furious she rummaged through her pocket , withdrawing her wand.
"Well. I didn't have to be soon mean if you just leave me alone!" said Pose before muttering the 'accio' spell. The parchment dances itself from Millicent stifling grip. A loud rip was heard in the room before a fast gush of wind blew past Pancy face, as the parchment galloped through the air. Posie then mended back the paper before settling in her bed.
"I told you already, I'm fine...perfectly happy,"
"Now, just leave me ,I have Mr. Bin essay to do."
it was not long after that Millicent decided to speak up, her lips pursed and on the verged of tears.
"Posie. You don't have to keep this pain all lock up inside you. We are your friends."
"It don't have t be much, you can start by telling us as to what happen betwenn you two."
Posie kept quiet. She would loved to tell them the reason as to why things where bitter between them, but Posie had just realized that she too, just as Pansy and Millicent, didn't have the answer to that question.
It was at that moment that Pansy had saw that it woud be quite some time before the red head would answer her them, has she released a heavy sigh, not before giving a long glance to Millicent, telling her it was better to drop the topic.
If Millicent kept asking her more questions, no doubt, it would do more harm than good. She cared for her friend, very deeply, even though she may have a hard time reflection this. So as Pansy sat, eyeing her friend, she had came to a conclusion that she would be patient, that she would wait. No matter how long it would be. She will wait, until Posie is ready to open up, even if it will take forever. After all, that was friends for.
If she was angry with Dahlia then she was raging mad now, so mad she was close to spit fire. She was always envious of her, the fact that she was able to create a bond with Posie in less than a year, while they had known each other over a decade, made her bitter. She wanted to be annoyed at Posie too , but she couldn't, she wouldn't. Not when all she could see was the girl who asked her all those years aback, to play gobblestone with her, when the boys insisted on excluding her in their games .
"Hey Milly, why don't you show Posie what your aunt had bought for you?" it took Millicent quite somewhile before he understand Pansy as she had jerked up so quickly it amazed Pansy as to why her spined hasn't snappd at the her quick movement.
"Oh, it quite beautiful, it made Greengrass so upset when she saw it, you see, she was begging her parents the entire summer to buy it you see." an almost girlish giggle left Millicent lips. pansy too joined in.
"I think its stupid to spend your money on items like that, when there is dress and robes to buy, no Posie?"
It was still for a while as Posie sat staring dully at her parchment.
"I think it is stupid also" added Posie hesitantly . Pansy breathed a sigh of relif as she send a glowing smile to Millicent.
"But I'm not defending you Pansy, so don't get ahead of yourself , dress and robes would always come out of style.
"But books, would always remain the same, infact, it become even better as time goes by,like fine wine.
The girls burst into laughter," Draco said you'l said that, " said Pansy with a giddy smile on her face.
"Really, when?" asked Posie, who was at that very moment, trying desperately at now showing how her face fell at hearing his name.
"You see, we were down at the field waiting for, that's why we came up here to get you. Draco seem so excited to show-"
"Draco was waiting for me?"
Pansy halted for a moment, surprised at Posie sudden abruptness.
"Y-yes, why wouldn't he, he did made a promised?"
Without any more words, Posie quickly excused herself from the room. She didn't know how long she was running for but she soon find herself down at the quiddicth field, there, she saw a stream of silver and green madding themselves off the field. Quickly, her eyes hysterically scan through the team, trying desperately to find a spot of blond hair, but failed. When she finally noticed that draco was no where to be found she decided to ask Marcus Flit.
"Have you see Draco anywhere?" asked Posie feverishly.
"Draco, dunno, he was here before the others. Says he was here to meet someone, but they didn't came."
Another boy, with light brown hair, whom Posie recognized as Kupier Rowle, a third year.
"More like an excuse I'll say. He just didn't want to practise, what else to expect from a spoil rich boy."
Posie bit her lips, trying her best to ignore the latter. Kupier's groused spark others, as the began to complain, completely forgetting Posie.
As Posie stood their, watching the retreating team, she couldn't help the sunken feeling in her stomach. They were right about one thing though, Draco was a fool.
However, she was the biggest fool of them all.
