[Audio clicks on. Brisk footsteps can be heard]

I'm going out. I can't stay in that apartment forever, as much as I don't want to leave.

[Jordyn sighs]

It's really quiet out here, though, and I need someone to talk to.

Um...

I don't actually have all that much to talk about. We still haven't had any more quakes, and I'm grateful for that. The neon lights came on again tonight.

They do every night, I know. But it's just something that gives me a tiny semblance of comfort.

No cars, though. Unsurprisingly, but walking in the road is weird. I still kinda feel like I'm gonna get run over, or like one of those robo-cops will get me in trouble for walking where I'm not supposed to.

I guess they all got shut off when everyone left, though. Or taken along—because I haven't seen a single android in the entire time everyone's been gone.

[Jordyn falls silent, and only her footsteps can be heard for a few minutes]

...I've somehow ended up by the tunnel entrance.

Lights... Okay, I guess we're going to explore a little bit.

Might as well, right? It's not like I have anything else to do.

[Again, footsteps can be heard]

Niki and I never went back to paint.

I wish we had.

I'd even gone out and gotten a whole bunch of spray paint, and we just never got around to using it. It's all sitting in plastic bags under my bed.

[Silence falls, excepting Jordyn's footsteps. After approximately a minute of quiet, a low, faint rumbling can be heard. Jordyn's footsteps stop, and her voice is a whisper now]

...What was that...?

[Several seconds of silence]

Hello...?

[More silence, before the low growl repeats itself, only louder now. Jordyn's footsteps, now heavy and hurried, start up again]

Hell no, hell no, hell no. What even was that?! Do I want to know?

[Her sprinting footsteps continue until a door creaks open and slams shut. Jordyn stops, breathing heavily]

What the hell was that?!
