Archer

"Maybe we should just commit suicide together?" Renjun suggested. "I mean...we're all dying eventually and it kind of ruins their stupid game. What do you think?"

Taeyong dabbed his nose with Jaehyun's sleeve as the younger rubbed his shoulders attempting  to comfort him. "Renjun I'm so sorry." He gasped. "Everyone, I'm so sorry. I've failed as a leader."

Collective disagreements spread through the room. No one believed Taeyong had failed them. He was still a wonderful leader. He would never disappoint the members of NCT. They loved him too much.

"It's not your fault." Doyoung shook his head. "How could it be?"

Taeyong scoffed, dried blood residing on his upper lip. "I sincerely doubt any other leader in kpop history has gotten their group murdered by psychopaths whilst having said murders streamed to crazy people around the world. You don't see RM or Jihyo doing that, do you?"

"No but that still doesn't make it your fault baby." Jaehyun have Taeyong's shoulder a squeeze and locked eyes with him. "No one could have predicted this."

Taeyong's heart pounded in his ears so he couldn't hear anyone else. Jaehyun was so beautiful, even in such a horrible situation he managed to stay so handsome. The elder looked away and turned to the rest of his members.

"I don't care what you guys say, I've failed and I can never make this right." He mumbled, choking back tears as everyone watched him.

"It's okay to cry." "It's okay to cry."

Everyone craned their necks to look at Ten who slapped his hand over his mouth. Simultaneously as he had spoke, the speaker in the corner of room had said the same exact sentence. Haechan narrowed his eyes at the elder and scooted away from his obviously.

"Oh my gosh." Ten breathed. "I didn't-guys I didn't-"

"Let go of your feelings Taeyong. Here you can say anything, let out all your emotions you've been keeping inside. If today is your last day, you may as well take a chance. Be bold! Now it's time for our next activity! Which-oh look at that! It's an honesty game."

The shoot in the ceiling in which the weapons had previously dropped from opened up with a loud screeching sound and out fell five lie detectors.

"Lie detectors? Really?" Hendery cocked his head to the side, recalling the times Wayv had played around with them. "They aren't even accurate! They're fake-"

"Not here Hendery. These lie detectors on the contrary have been modified by top scientists within our staff members to actually tell who is lying. It tests your heart rate, which tends to speed up when lying, and your body position. If you're squirming, you must be lying. It's really a genius invention now that it works effectively. So who's first?"

Silence. Ten still held his breath, horrified by chorusing with the speaker. Haechan watched the Thai boy intently, curious and suspicious. He jumped on the opportunity within his reach.

"Ten how about you go first?" He prodded. Ten's eyes widened in surprise, opening his mouth to begin arguing but was cut off.

"That's a marvelous idea Donghyuck! Someone help Ten into the device!"

Before he could even react, Haechan strapped his hand into the machine. "What?! No! It's not me!" Ten frantically tried prying off the device. "Guys believe me!"

"Shut up. You're suspicious okay?" Haechan just hissed back a retort.

"Now." The voice sounded. "Ask any questions you wish to know the answers for!"

Ten grimaced as Haechan immediately raised his hand and opened his mouth. "Are you or are you not the murderer?" After, he pushed the button on the detector.

"You idiot, my heart rate is going to accelerate either way so here's your false answer." Ten pointed out, sarcasm lacing his voice. "I'm the murderer."

Ding

"It says it's true." Haechan clucked his tongue. "Fucking knew it." He muttered.

Jumping up, Taeyong shouted. "Hold on! Ten made a good point." Wide, inquisitive, and nervous eyes fixed on the leader who had walked over to the raven haired boy and put a hand on his shoulder. "If asked a question we need to answer honestly, it might be difficult to keep our heart rate down. Here-try me next."

Cautiously, Taeyong helped the younger unstrap the device who helped him in return by putting his hand in place. Taeyong pushed back a strand of hair with his free hand and nodded to Haechan.

Haechan sighed and asked the same question again. "Are you or are you not the murderer?"

"I am." Taeyong responded.

Ding!

Shocked faces turned around as everyone began talking over each other. "See?" Taeyong pushed coolly. "It's a matter of being nervous or hurt by the question. This thing is the liar, not us."

Embarrassed, Haechan took a few steps back as Ten watched him go through narrowed hard eyes. "I told you." The elder spat.

Flustered, the game master began stuttering over the speaker. "Now, now boys. Calm down. Is it-is it possible these two are working together? Yes? No? Um, I-"

"Just shut up." Jeno crossed his arms. "I may not be able to here but I can tell you're spewing bullshit by the looks on my members faces." Taeyong smirked as he was proud of the Dreamie. "Renjun Hyung looks like he might laugh at you, Taeyong Hyung is smiling, and Yuta Hyung looks smug."

"Well then...." the members listened carefully as the game master had stepped away from the microphone and was-well, it sounded as if they were speaking in a low voice to someone.

"Very smart of you all." The voice returned at maximum volume. "Turns out the hour is over. Lee Jeno is the member voted out. Thank you."

Jaemin felt his whole body tense. He squeezed Jeno's hand and turned to him, his good eye prickling with tears.

"Jaemin?" Jeno asked, worried by his boyfriend's actions. "Jaemin-"

"It's you." The younger choked out and threw his arms around the deaf boy. "Nono don't leave me!"

The familiar sound of the door being busted open echoed through the dimly lit room as Jaemin let out another, louder sob. "Stop!" He pleaded as one of the masked men began to pry his fingers out off Jeno's hair. "Please!"

Out of instinct both Renjun and Taeyong bounced up to help but the guards pointed their guns threateningly at them, causing both heartbroken boys to retreat back to their spots.

"Jaemin let go!" Jeno roared. "They'll kill you if you don't let go."

Jaemin didn't listen and howled his fury as finally the guard ripped his last finger out of Jeno's hair and threw him onto the cold floor. "Jeno!" Jaemin yelled, tears streaming down his face. "Jeno....." Renjun crawled over and put his arms around the younger to reassure him. "Breath Jaemin...breath..." but the elder's voice was wavering too.

The masked men dragged  the poor Dreamie out of the room, Jeno clearly fighting to get back to Jaemin but it was no use. Soon, somewhere in the corridor leading away from their room, he gave up.

The monitor flipped on above Taeyong's head and he craned his neck to see it. A grassy field covered by a reddish evening sky, the sun setting on the horizon showed on the screen. It looked innocent, almost beautiful until the screen panned to Jeno.

He was struggling against the ropes tying him to the archery board. He was pulling, fingers scrambling to undo them. Taeyong felt a pang of misery strike his heart. Jeno wouldn't survive, like all the others before him, he would die painfully.

An archer stood across from him, holding up a large bow and an arrow. The camera panned over the arrow and Taeyong felt himself cringe. The arrow was sharp, very sharp. It glistened in the setting sunlight.

Pfft! The arrow shot through the air and Jaemin screamed in horror.

"Bullseye." The voice on the speaker laughed.

Taeyong felt a wave of nausea overcome him as the arrow had buried itself deep within Jeno's stomach and the boy's eyes glazed over. They would never see the world again.
