Welcome Home

"Hey, sis." Bart said as he sped into an office chair and kicked his legs up onto the feet of the desk.Four monitors surrounded the desk with all sorts of heavy-duty tech covering all the remaining space.Nora and Bart had turned the loft of their apartment into their own little base of operations where everything left of Team Flash worked out of."Yeah? What's up?" Nora asked as she cracked an egg over a frying pan."You know that temporal monitoring device that you built to track any changes to the timeline?" Bart asked."Yeah, why?" She asked as she danced around the kitchen."Well, you may want to start looking at it again." Bart started as he put his hand into a bag of chips. "Because something just jumped into our timeline."Nora face paled as the frying pan started smoking as she stood there frozen. Her heart stopped all at once before she regained her composure and was at the monitors in seconds."One day ago." Nora said reading the chart. "Wait, Bart. What day is it?""Umm, September fifteenth?" Bart said checking the calendar. "Why?"A smile grew across Nora's face. "That's the day I gave Damian to jump into the new timeline."Bart raised an eyebrow. "But why September fifteenth?"Nora shrugged. "I liked the number, and it gave us a couple months for us to catch-up with our new timeline." She said disappearing and reappearing wearing her leather jacket that her mother had given her years ago.

Nora and Bart returned to the moment they left in an effort to not change the timeline more than they already had.

Nora spent the first couple weeks counting the clock, the hours, the minutes, as a speedster she counted it down to every second. Damian's return date soon slipped her mind, and she got back to work at CCPD knowing that the less she thought about it the soon the day would come. He never left her mind though, not once. It had been months since they returned and thanks to Nora's quick-thinking skills, she told Damian to return a couple months after them so they would be able to get all the answers about their new timeline before a bewildered Damian returned. "He's probably terrified. . ." Bart said. "You think he knows about the team, or Frost? "Nora chewed on her finger anxiously before shaking her head. "I keep thinking we're going to get this happily ever after, but he just gets one bomb dropped on him after another. "Bart winked at her. "You'll get it someday, besides if it were easy. Everyone would do it.""Wow, our trip to the past really matured you. I'm proud." Nora said smiling. "Now, if you'll excuse, I'm going to go find my boyfriend.""Goodmorninggggggg, Central City!" The radio host said over the comms system playing in Damian's ear as he ran across the rooftops of downtown Central City. "Home of the Flash, today is looking to be a beautiful sunny day with maybe a few scattered rain showers here and there throughout the day. Can we take a second to talk about the two youngest speedsters in town. Even with the Flash's absence the two youngsters have really stepped it up." "What do they have to step up to? There's no cosmic storms threatening to destroy the city or satellites falling from the sky. New meta encounters are dropping by the year." The co-host said as Damian vaulted off the side of the building and put himself into a free fall before using his web shooters to swing from the far building. "I remember when I was a boy, it seemed like every year there was a handful of new metas."Damian let the familiar rush of air hit him as the pendulum swung into the air and let go.

"Woohoo! It's good to be back!" He yelled into the Central City morning air as he fell back towards the city.

"Isn't that good news though, after decades of protecting this city Team Flash finally got their vacation." Damian accidentally swung too low and was caught with his momentum as he ran along the sidewalk still holding onto the web attached to the building. People jumped out of his way shocked as he came through."Sorry.""Goodmorning guys. "Hi puppy." Damian said before finally letting go as he rolled before an intersection. The busy crowed barely seemed to notice him as Damian just hung out in the crowd waiting for the light to change so they could cross. "Hey, check this out." The co-host said to the main host. "We just got some breaking news, Central City and trust me you're going to want to hear this one. It seems as though after twenty-seven years of absence the Spiderman has finally returned home, as he has just been spotted downtown Central City." The radio host said. The light changed. "Well guys, you can cross safely. Don't forget to look both ways." Damian said as he webbed himself to the top of the streetlight before point launching off it and back into the Central City sky.

A news chopper roared over the top of Damian as he webbed the bottom of it and used it to catch a ride as he swung freely. A cameraman leaned over the edge and took a picture. "Word is still coming in about the Spiderman sighting and we have confirmation this is not just a teenager roleplaying. CCTV is now reporting with this picture. Spiderman hanging from the news chopper." Damian looked below him and smiled as he saw the familiar flash of the purple lightning zooming through the streets.

Damian saluted to the cameraman as he continued to take pictures before dropping form the helicopter and using his webs to pull him to the far skyscraper before he began running up the side of the building towards the top. He vaulted over the top of the railing and onto the roof just as a speeding bolt of purple lightning came running up the side of the building. Nora skidded to a smoking stop in front of him and Damian pulled his mask off. His brown hair a mess and his heart racing from adrenaline at the sight of Nora. The radio station continued to play from the inside of his mask as he held it to his side. The complicated Couple smiled at each other warmly. "I don't know if you're hearing this but. . . welcome home, Spiderman." So, this is where the magic happens." I said examining the setup that Nora and Bart had turned their loft into. "Oh god, I hope not." Bart said acting disgusted. Nora punched him. "That's enough of that. But yes Damian, this is where we work out of. "Where's everyone else?" I asked confused. With the massive crime and meta human drop rate in Central City the last twenty-seven years, we no longer needed the whole team. Mom and dad retired, Caitlin uses her time now as the head bioengineer and CEO at Snow Incorporated." Nora said. "She basically runs the place. "How's Joe and Cecile? They still kicking?" I asked them. Bart nodded. "Happily, retired, they live in Florida now. "What about Jenna?" I asked mentioning Joe and Cecile's daughter. "Married and my boss." She's the police captain?" I said as my mouth dropped. "I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. "Chester and Allegra are in Midway. Chester runs Runk Tech, mainly dealing with electronics and Allegra is a news reporter with a serious case of UV rays. They have a son. Chuck Quincy Runk." Nora said as I took a seat at the counter. "What about Cisco and Kamilla?" I asked spinning on the stool. "Cisco is still at ARGUS and Kamilla continued her work as a reporter. They have two kids Dante and Ronnie." Nora said not taking her eyes off me."I was at the museum." I admitted to Nora and Bart. "I know about Frost. "Nora and Bart looked at each other before Bart spoke. "It's heartbreaking, but we weren't the incident so we unfortunately can't help you with any answers. "So, where are Barry and Iris?" I asked after an uncomfortable silence between the three of us. "They're traveling the world. Turns out it's kind of hard to do that when you're constantly saving the planet and then boom suddenly you have two kids running Mach three around the living room." Bart said smiling as he checked his watch. "I gotta run, catch y'all later. "He disappeared in a yellow flash leaving Nora and I alone in the apartment.

"Finally." I said smiling at her as I walked towards where she was sitting on the counter. She blushed and bit her lip as we got close. She wrapped her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist and gently pressed her forehead against mine. "I've been waiting a long time for this." Nora whispered to me."Well, let's stop waiting." I said to her as I went in for a kiss. She pulled back suddenly shaking her head and smiling. "Not yet mister. We have work to do. "I walked away holding my head back and groaned in annoyance, "What on Earth could we possibly have to do now? "Nora held up a résumé and beamed at me. "Job hunting! And touring Central City twenty-forty-nine of course. "Can't we do that after?" I whined as Nora threw my jacket to me.

She looked back and raised an eyebrow. "After what? "I followed Nora out the door. "After, like the magic? "She turned around and spread her arms. "What happened to waiting, last time I checked you had to figure things out. My mouth dropped. "Girl, you are on thin ice."***"My oh my, aren't you a sight for sore eyes." The dark-skinned woman with long brown hair and dark brown hair spoke as she stood up from behind her desk.

"Captain West." I said shaking her hand. "Wow, you're so grown up. Last time I saw you, you were three." The city is raving about you Mr. Abbott." She said smiling. "Everyone loves a good red, white, and blue. "I looked at Nora and mouthed 'she knows'. "Of course, I know, my brother-in-law is the Flash, my sister is his wife. You were good friends with my mother who also happens to be a metahuman and you worked for my dad." She said. "Have a seat."I took a seat and Nora took the chair next to me.

"Nora gave me your application months ago, showed me your old reports, and the work you did with my father who himself also referred you to take back your old position." Captain West said. "The work you've done for this precinct and this town is remarkable, any precinct would be lucky to have you but since your family, I got first dibs. "Wait, does that mean I'm hired?" I asked and smiled at Nora who was grinning from ear to ear.Captain West placed a badge in front of me.

"You will be assisting Nora in her work for the time being. You will not be late, and the old lab is where you will be working. "Thank you so much, Captain. "What can I say, when Spiderman calls. You answer." She replied back to me as she shook my hand. I began to follow Nora back out the door, but Captain West cleared her throat causing me to turn around. Normally, I don't allow workplace relationships. Especially not trainer to trainee ones, but I'll allow it for now. Keep it professional and for the love of God, no funny business in the lab." She said as she smoothed out her uniform before sitting down. I nodded my thanks and turned to head out but good ole Nora just had to poke her head back into the office. "Captain West, you have nothing to worry about." She said sarcastically. "We're not together. "Captain West looked up confused. "Oh? Barry and Iris say otherwise. "Nora looked at me. "I'm sorry in advance." She turned back to the captain and spoke again. "Yeah, they get it mixed up sometimes, but Damian has some stuff to figure out first. "I rolled my eyes as we headed for the lab."Never gonna let that one go, are you?" Absolutely not."
