Paradox Then Got into A Running Stance.
He Then Waited Until He Heard His Friends and Family Say...
" You Can Do This Now, Run, Damian. RUN!" he heard them all say in unison. And he did, faster and faster launching lightning bolts - not just white ones but also red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet - at infinite velocity.
Soon it became too much and the Anti-Monitor, roaring with rage and pain, exploded with a burst of both negative and positive energy.
But Paradox didn't stop. He kept running, funneling the energy up into the sky, where it seemed to be collected into a huge ball of light.
The Paragons watched with both awe and fear, when suddenly Oliver,Nora,Barry Sara and Kara were all surrounded by a trail of white lightning. With a Woosh Paradox stood before them.
"Hey, guys." he said smiling.
"DAMIAN!" His family rushed to hug him, but he held up his hand to stop them.
"I'm not really here guys. I'm just an After Image. The real me is up there." he pointed to the ball and the funnel of energy leading up to it, where there was a visible white streak slowly moving up it. "I'm stretching out the last few seconds to say goodbye." he told them sadly.
"Goodbye?" Nora asked him, having a horrible feeling in her gut. "What do you mean?" she asked.
Oliver swallowed painfully, he nodded at the ball. "What is that, Damian?" he asked, that same sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.
"That, Oliver, is the new Multiverse being born" he revealed with a proud smile. "It's all ready. Planets, Galaxies and entire Universe all being formed. It's just missing one crucial element."
"Life." Nora said in understanding.
Damian nodded sadly. "Life. That's where I come in. I'm the Spark that Ignites the Flame and you guys Provide the Fuel." he reminded them.
But Nora was sobbing. "But you said you'd come home! To me. To Lia! You promised!" she reminded, trying to deny what she was seeing and hearing.
Damian walked up to her. "I promised that I come home to you. And I will." He smiled sadly. "You'll see me again. Just not like this." He promised. He leaned in to kiss her and was momentarily solid enough for their lips to meet, but then his body flickered.
"I'm out of time." He commented. He looked at his family one last time. "Be good to each other." he said before fading away. The lightning around them ended and time resumed.
The Heroes of the Infinite Earths watched as the white Flash shot up the pillar of light towards the ball. There was a brief flash of light which suddenly spread out towards them.
And then there was Life.
