"Happy New Year!"

That was the resounding chorus that resonated throughout the building at exactly midnight. A fun party where Alex could finally have some fun. This was 2020 and the year was off to a great start. His friend Jason had planned for them to meet up with some friends after the party and celebrate with a pool party. Alex could still hear his words when he planned this, "This will be an awesome chance for us to hang out and the parents to talk!" such an innocent boy.

Now, all Alex had to do is go to Jason's house and finish off his New Year celebrations – not without posting on his Instagram his amazing new year.

At Jason's party, he could hear all his group. They weren't particularly the biggest nor were they the smallest, yet they all had connections to other groups.

"Hey man, glad you made it!" that was Will. The group's resident prankster and monkey. He was the smallest and the scrawniest and yet he possessed some hidden strength that allowed him to climb virtually any walls.

"Hey Will, prank anyone yet?"

"Maybe..." replied Will, "After all, a King's got to keep his crown!"

Shaking his head, Alex sauntered off to go meet Anna. The Brainiac of the group. Anna looked at his for a second nodded and went back to her book. Alex looked askance for a minute as he could have sworn that Anna looked a bit drunk but shook of the notion as he knew Anna wouldn't swim anyway.

Suddenly he fell as he was tackled by his girlfriend Katy. "Hey Lex! Did you enjoy the party earlier today? I couldn't come because I had to stay home."

"It's alright kit-Kat, I know how you can't go out past your curfew, anyway, want to meet up with the others in the pool?"

"I'd love to!" exclaimed Katy.

Lounging in the pool with his friends a few minutes later, the only thought that went through Alex's mind was, 'this will be a very happy new year.'
