Mysterious Note and Challenge Remindet

Thursday, December 1st, 2016

I was given a special role in my choir concert. I start off on the stage all alone singing a solo. This is going to be very interesting. I keep asking my director if he really wants to put me front and center the entire concert because my ugly Christmas sweater will have a giant face of Darth Vader on it. The entire choir really agrees with him so I am stuck where I am with all eyes on me the entire concert.
I recieved a strange note put in my locker. I could not eat the school's lunch that was served so I went to my locker to get money for a soft granola bar from the school store. When I approached my locker, I saw the folded note stuck in the vent of the locker. I thought it was an apology letter from my friend but he still has no idea why I am avoiding him. After looking at it I have come to two predictions. Either someone failed miserably at writing in cursive or it is written in the native language of one of the foreign exchange students. The latter is more likely. It is probably a mistake. I have not talked to either of them before so why would they give me a note? It cannot be for my locker partner because she moved into a different locker. If any of you can read a language from Pakistan or know anyone who can, please help.

If you remember last month, I set up a challenge. The challenge is to read a full length or a few short novels before Christmas day (ending the book Christmas Eve). The challenge starts today and I am starting with The Christmas Basket by Debbie Macomber. This is supposed to support reading and enhance good dreams leading up to Christmas. If you are participating in the challenge please comment what book you are reading. It would be even better if the book was about Christmas in some way.

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
– Genesis 4:6-7 (NIV)
"This is the first explicit mention of the word “sin” in the Bible. Notice the metaphor—sin is like a lion that is ready to pounce. It hides in the shadows of the doorway and wants to have you, yet we have power over sin before it pounces. If you want to win in your struggle against sin, you must build your devotion to Christ in the times that you don’t feel sin’s grip. This is our God given responsibility as Christians" -Dave Whitehead

Today, Tyler Joseph is 28. A lot of you might know him as the singer for Twenty One Pilots.

Because it is Tyler's birthday and my youth group talked about doubt yesterday, the song of the day is Doubt by Twenty One Pilots. The video does not belong to me and you may suggest a song for a future update.

I have no prayer requests. Please share if you have any prayer requests. I would love to pray for you. Soar on, Eagle Army!
