If you haven't already noticed the obvious, Yamori's character was inspired by Jason from Friday the 13th.

Yamori is referred as "Jason" several times and also tortures his victims... just like Jason. He is often seen wearing a hockey mask... just like Jason. And he originates from the 13th ward.
