who screamed when they saw the gif?

ELIJAH TOOK CARE of Klaus while Athena went to the bayou to join Thomas and Hayley on the quest to break the curse. To say the least, she was upset and was in need of some quality time with the King. When she arrived, the wolves surrounded her in their animal forms, following her as she walked as if they were protecting her. At first, it was intimidating and she wasn't quite sure to go react. Should she greet them? Smile at them? Ignore them? She didn't have an answer so she settled for glancing their way and picking up her speed to get to the others. But when she did find them, seeing Celeste — who was stilling possessing Sabine's body — she saw that the witch had her hands tied in front of her, leaning against a tree.

Hayley and Eve stood there with rifles in their hands, Thomas in front of them with a pissed off expression on his face. The other wolves were around them, some growling lowly in their chest at the sight of the person who nearly killed some of their own. The group hadn't noticed her yet it seemed because none turned her way. Each wolf bowed their head to her as she passed, acknowledging her presence.

Thomas removed the duck tape from Celeste's mouth, causing her to scoff in frustration, her tone of voice reflecting so. "So what's this, payback? Look. I'm sorry I tricked Hayley. I wasn't after her."

"Oh and everyone else is just dust in the wind?" he questioned, sounding furious as he stepped towards her, glaring. "You almost burned Hayley alive in that plantation fire and you put Athena in danger. That last thing alone would make me kill you the second I found you. Unfortunately, your presence is needed."

Celeste struggled against the ropes to free herself but Athena flashed over and pinned her to the tree by her throat. The group jumped a bit, startled by her sudden arrival. The Original made her hybrid face appear, smiling sweetly. "Careful, Celeste, that move made me nervous. And if I get nervous, I may accidentally tell the wolves to attack you."

"What, you're gonna kill me, honey?"

She laughed a bit at that though it sounded taunting more than anything. Thomas watched her with a smirk, Hayley and Eve keeping a tight grip on their rifles just in case things went south and they had to pull the trigger. Athena tilted her own head to the side. "No, because I'm not stupid. You see, my brother told me all about you. The second you grow bored with the current body you are in, you kill yourself, and jump into another one. And that is not happening on my watch. But if you so much as move to cast a spell on my friends, I will break your knees."

Hayley rose an eyebrow, looking to Thomas who looked proud, to say the least. He shrugged when he saw her looking, not minding that Athena took over things because she was certainly making more progress than they did.

"So, what do you want?" Celeste questioned.

"I am glad you asked." She let her go, stepping back a few steps. "Back in the '90s, you possessed a witch named Brynne Deveraux. Marcel had her, well, you, put a curse on a pack of werewolves so they'd only turn human on a full moon."

"I see," she hummed before nodding. "Yes. That was me. Let me guess. You want revenge?"

Athena thought for a moment before sighing. "Maybe later I'll chop off your fingers but for now, you are going to undo the curse." She turned around and her behavior instantly changed as she looked at the three, smiling gently. "Good morning everyone." She made her way to Thomas, looking up at him since he was taller than her. "Can I have breakfast? I want pancakes again, with lots of whipped cream." Her eyes lit up with excitement and he smiled, chuckling as he nodded.

"Of course, Ena, anything for you." He linked his arm with her's and led her to a cabin that he was having built just for the two of them. After all, they are a part of the Crescent pack, though he wouldn't admit that he wanted to be alpha so he could place a crown on his mate's head. What a sight that would be. Regardless, he aimed to make a home here but decided to keep his apartment just in case she wanted to get away.

Hayley and Eve watched Celeste while they walked away, making sure she didn't get away. Eventually, they got to the nearly finished cabin and Athena frowned, looking curious when they walked inside, only to see very few furniture pieces and the walls not painted but some different colors had been put on some, almost as if someone were deciding which they liked.

"I started construction around the time I was resurrected. Marcel is paying for it since I let him send those guys to look for you." She gave him a look at that because she remembered when he told her about that and she hadn't been too happy. "Thankfully he is much too busy to bother not paying for it anymore. It's almost done, I haven't gotten the chance to paint yet or get furniture. The bathroom isn't done and neither is the spare bedroom. But it'll be done soon—

"You're cute when you ramble," she interrupted, grinning before she skipped over to the kitchen, opening the fridge and saw that it had a decent amount of food. If she had to guess she would say it was recently filled up because he probably figured she would be staying in the bayou sometimes.

Thomas looked taken aback, blinking as he fell silent. And then he blushed when he realized that he had indeed rambled. "Um. . .thanks." He came over and got out the necessary materials, beginning to cook. She hopped onto the counter, legs crossed as she watched him, completely silent. He was steady and quick, his eyes darting, his hand working diligently. After five minutes, she was already bored. He hadn't noticed when she got up and snuck away to where she assumed he would sleep.

Athena looked around the room, seeing that the only things in the room where a mattress on the floor and a book on top. She walked over and quickly realized that it was not a story type book, it was another one full of songs. Instantly her eyes widened and she raced over to it, sitting on the bed and flipped to the first page. As she read through the lyrics, a huge blush appeared on her cheeks and then looked at the song title.

Fantasies

Well, and she sure couldn't stop her cheeks from flamming up to a hundred degrees. Despite the fact that she didn't understand much of what some of the words meant, she was intelligent enough to comprehend what they all focused on one thing. And that one thing? Was an adult thing. Rebekah had told her that babies came from a man and a woman and said that sometimes people have one night stands or have sex but don't have a baby. But did she ever tell her how the babies were made? Nope.

Her eyes kept scanning the lyrics because she liked it, even if she couldn't understand it, and once she got to the second verse, suddenly the songbook vanished from her hands. To think her cheeks couldn't get anymore crimson. Athena slowly looked up at Thomas who was staring down at her with a raised eyebrow. He didn't look embarrassed this time. In fact, he seemed irritated.

"I told you not to look at my stuff," he reminded, looking down at which song it was before he glanced back down at her to see her staring at the ground, her hair covering her face. His expression softened and Sebastian murmured in his head about he should kiss her. With a sigh, he crouched down in front of her. "This one is very, very private, Ena. It's my fault, I shouldn't have left it lying around, I know you get curious." He kissed her forehead and grabbed her hand, bringing her to stand. "Come, breakfast is ready."

She refused to look at him the whole way back to the kitchen, sitting down at the bar since he had two barstools. Thomas drew a smiley face with the whipped cream, making her smile and laugh slightly. He grinned in return, setting down the can as he went to clean up the dishes. Athena took one bite before she got an idea.

"Oh no, the whipped cream is going out of date tomorrow!" she gasped.

He looked over, frowning. "Really? I bought this the other day and I checked the date. Surely you're mistaken, love."

"No, it says tomorrow and there's so much more left." She grabbed it. "We can't let it go to waste." And with that, she sprayed an entire mountain on her pancakes, laughing when she saw him go wide-eyed, gaping in horror. His eyes said it all: it was never going to go out of date, she just wanted a reason to put more on her breakfast.

The male Nyx rushed over and snatched the can from her, in utter shock. "Athena! No, ma'am!" All she did was laugh, kneeling over slightly, her eyes shut tightly as her lips were curved upwards, her lips parted slightly as musical laughter spilled out. He tried not to smile but failed, shaking his head. "You're going to get sick eating all this whipped cream, I'm going to have to take some off."

She gasped, pouting at him. "You wouldn't, it's already there so just leave it, it isn't causing harm." Then she gave him a puppy dog face and he looked away fast.

"Damn it, don't give me that look." Athena got up, moving to stand in front of him, clasping her hands together and whined like a puppy, jumping up and down because he was taller than her. "I'm not giving in." She whined louder, her lip quivering. "I'm not." She jumped more aggressively and he smacked his forehead as he caved in. "Kill me now."

———

Thomas had taken off only two spoonfuls before letting her finish her breakfast, sitting down next to her and let her eat. He enjoyed the way she smiled the entire time, victorious almost. His inner wolf kept purring, thinking that she was the cutest thing on the planet sitting there with him, whip cream all over her lips. What he would give to kiss her breathless. But he didn't wish to scare her. Only if Athena could hear his thoughts, surely she would slap him across the face and tell him that she wasn't frightened. Yet she liked how he was taking his time with her.

Celeste was sitting against a tree stump when they came back, seeing her hands still tied together, a mason jar of herbs in front of her. "Here." Athena took it from her, handing it over to Hayley. "It is herbs ground into a paste. It'll act as a conduit for the spell. On the next full moon, your people become human. Feed it to them, the curse will be broken."

"Sounds like a great way to poison us and rid of us all," Thomas scoffed, not trusting her for a second. His playful behavior was long gone, replaced with the cold exterior he put on in front of those he didn't have faith in.

"Look. I know you have no reason to trust me, but, Hayley, I actually like her. I was her, caring for Elijah when he cared more for his brother, and I ended up dead. So did a lot of others. This, call it a chance for me to give her what I was too in love to give myself. It's a chance to free yourself from the Originals." Then she looked at Athena. "And you, all you have to do is give the wolves the herbs and stay here in the bayou, let the others go after one another. You have a chance to separate yourself from the Mikaelsons."

Athena stepped forward and slapped Celeste, hissing. "Bitch, I am a Mikaelson." The wolves growled behind her, causing her to turn around and see Elijah coming over to join them. She frowned, wondering what he was going here, especially when Klaus was attempting to go after Rebekah. "What are you doing here?"

"Whatever she's promised you, it's a lie," her brother told her. She sighed, her shoulders deflating. "She cannot be trusted."

"She's the only one that can help our pack," she snapped, causing everyone to glance over at her with shock, even the wolves themselves. This was the first time she had said that the Crescents were her pack. Though she wasn't the alpha, they were still her people, they were still those who she was born to rule over and lead.

Elijah took a moment to collect himself. "Do you have any idea what she has done to our family?" He was being patient with her, knowing that she was still new to this era and discovering things every single day. And he knew she sometimes made rational decisions because she didn't know how to think things through completely just yet.

"Yes, I am fully aware. But my wolves have suffered for far too long, hunted by vampires, treated like dirt underneath their shoes. Enough of that, I will not let them be put down any longer. And this is also Hayley's family. So you may want revenge, but come the next full moon when the curse is lifted and the cure is successful, Celeste is all yours."

"Are you suggesting that we hold her captive for an entire month? It would take an army."

She shook her head, licking her lips before gesturing her arms out to the wolves behind her. "What do you think this is, brother?" The pack howled in agreement. She placed her arms back at her sides and she gave him a pleading expression. "Please Elijah, help me, help us save them. They deserve to be free."

He seemed to think about her offer for a moment before he made his choice. "I'm sorry, Athena." Suddenly, he grabbed Celeste and the mason jar, speeding them away, leaving his sister standing there, fists clenched as she stared angrily after him. Hayley was furious, turning around and stormed away.

The Queen didn't know what to do, standing there, looking betrayed before her arm was gently pulled back in the direction of the cabin. Thomas brought her back inside, knowing she needed some time alone after all that. He set her down on the mattress, not speaking, not moving, merely sat there next to her.

"What shall we do?" he finally asked, his voice soft.

"He'll be back," she replied, whispering before running a hand through her hair. "I feel like something's wrong but. . .I've involved myself with my family drama for months now and it's been a lot in only this short time. For once I want to help someone else, someone who needs it. These wolves deserve it."

He nodded, understanding what she was saying. Then he cracked a smile. "You called them our pack."

She looked over at him, tilting her head with a confused look, not quite catching on to what he was saying. "They are, aren't they? I assumed that you were a part of the Crescents and so was I?" Of course, she was completely unaware that she was not ever meant to be a beta or some regular ranked wolf. She assumed that being Queen was something she had to earn.

Thomas shook his head at her. "We are allies to the Crescent pack, Ena. We are a part of them but we aren't at the same time." He licked his lips, listening to Sebastian for a moment. "I have no intention of being anything other than an alpha. Jackson is already the alpha and I intended to create our own pack along the way."

"Why do you wish to be alpha?" she asked curiously, looking up at him.

"Because I. . ." his words trailed off before he decided to screw it, he was going to tell her how he felt about it honestly. "Because I want to place a crown on your head. Because I want to marry you, I want to have kids, and yeah it's early to think about all that. But you don't remember me, I spent a thousand years with you, I know everything about you to the small freckle you have on your right shoulder blade. Nothing changed that. And if I am not alpha, I cannot see you be Queen, I cannot say that our kids are princes and princesses, and I enjoy the thought of ruling and leading the wolves."

Athena had brought her knees to her chest at this point, watching him. She nodded slowly. "I understand. And I am sorry that I don't my memories. They died along with my mother, but believe me, if I could get them back I would. For now, we just have to accept what we got and you can tell me stories." Then she gnawed on her lip. "I do have a question."

He encouraged her to continue, nodding at her with a warm smile. She glanced away from him for a moment, grabbing the songbook he had placed back on the mattress, holding it in her hands. "I did not know what these things you mentioned were but I want to learn, it seems you like these things. Am I wrong?"

That time he did blush, remembering what he wrote. "No, you aren't wrong. You mistake me though. I haven't. . .I haven't kissed anyone, I haven't had sex, I haven't done anything. I was engaged but it was nothing but an arranged marriage and she was a piece of work let me tell you." He laughed humorlessly as he thought of his bride to be. "I made it my goal to learn as much as I could so when you returned, I could teach you. Some of those things I learned was what you read." He looked at her, grabbing her hand. "I don't wish to scare you though."

Athena shook her head. "Why would you scare me?"

"Because what I want, what I think about is things you have never heard of, have never imagined, have never even knew existed." He brushed some hair behind her ear. "There are things I want to do to you that may be intense and I don't want to scare you off." He smiled though, causing her to smile back.

"You would never scare me, promise. I want to learn. Teach me, please."

He sighed, knowing that she truly didn't know what exactly she was committing to. "Alright, I will." However, he would never do anything without her consent, he would always ask her first, at least for a little while before she got used to him and got used to what he wanted to try with her.

"Can I kiss you?" she asked quietly, eyes widening a bit with interest, a small blush on her cheeks. The expression on his face was priceless and inside his mind, Sebastian was cheering him on, screaming at him, pointing him mentally, and was threatening him as to if he didn't kiss her, he would fight for control and take over his body so he could kiss her himself. "Sorry if that's random."

Thomas quickly turned his body to face her and turned her's as well, shaking his head with a giddy smile on his face. "It's okay, I don't mind. But yes, you can. Only if I can kiss you though." He winked and she laughed into her hand, smiling back at him. "It's not going to be amazing though, it is my first kiss and yours so. . .here goes nothing."

He leaned towards her, closing his eyes. Athena didn't know what to do so she followed his lead, leaning towards him and closed her eyes as well. Their lips got closer but then they bumped foreheads, causing her to jolt, their eyes opening. A second passed before they burst out laughing.

"Okay, okay, that was my fault, let's try again," he told her. This time, he brought her body closer to his but got her to sit on her knees so they were at a decent height. He told her to close her eyes and to not lean in, merely to sit there and wait for him. So that's what she did. As Athena sat there in front of him, he stared at her for a moment, noticing the way her chest was rising and falling quicker than usual, no doubt because she was nervous. Her hair was in front of her shoulders, her expression calm, and her mouth was still.

Thomas took a steady breath before closing his eyes and leaned closer to her. He gently pressed his lips to her's, feeling how soft she was against him. She didn't move, gasping in surprise before his eyes shot open, afraid he had done something wrong. He quickly came to realize that she had just been shocked at the sensation and smiled to himself.

He moved his lips on her's, noticing how she still wasn't moving with him. "It's okay, you're okay. Follow your instincts. It's okay, baby." Athena heard his pet name for her, her breath hitching but it caused her to react, finally kissing him back.

They were slopping at first, attempting to find a rhythm with one another yet neither made any move to stop. By the second the kiss evolved and she panted a bit, feeling him leading her, almost as if he were telling her what to do silently. He hadn't touched her, his hands firmly placed on the mattress with her's on top of his.

For a brief moment, they paused, pulling away. Both stared at each other's lips, breathing quickly, their chest rising and falling as Athena's had before. Then they went back for more, by this point they were finding a beat together, molding together, figuring out how they fit together. She was the first to move, scooting her body closer to his, reaching her hands up and winding her fingers in his ginger locks, pushing herself to stand on her knees slightly so she was above him.

Easily Thomas tilted his head up to meet her, wrapping his arms around her smaller frame. He kissed her deeply, a bit eager, a bit hungry for more. Gosh, the way she felt on his lips. He wouldn't forget it, not even if he died, not even if he was made to forget her. This feeling he would never find anywhere else. This feeling he could never get enough of.

Athena panted harder, pulling her head away to catch her breath but he seemed to have another idea. He instantly trailed kisses on her jaw to her neck, his grip tightening yet she didn't make a sound that told him that she was complaining. Her eyes that had opened when she broke the kiss, closed as she felt him sucking on her skin. She gasped, her fingers clutching to his hair.

"Thomas," she whispered in his ear which drove him insane. It took everything inside of him, all of the control he could muster to keep himself from pinning her to the bed and making out with her until the sun rose the next day. Maybe he would do so. For the time being, he brought her into his lap, forcing himself to stop which erupted a whimper from her.

He sighed, bringing her legs to wrap around his body, her eyes meeting his. "Shh, Ena, I know, I'm sorry. We are going to take things slow okay? We already got a little carried away but that's alright." Thomas combed his hands through her hair. "How about tonight I take you back to the apartment and we share the bed, hm?"

Playfully, she shook her head, making a sound that denied him. She had a big smile on her face, clearly giddy from their first kiss. Or, well, several kisses. "Nice true, mister."

The King grinned, rubbing her back. "Aw come on." He leaned to her ear, smirking. "I'll kiss you all night, until your breathless, how about that, hm?" When he pulled away, he saw that she was thinking about it before she ultimately nodded, blushing. As she agreed, he laughed, feeling extremely happy.

In fact, this was the happiest he has been in a long time.

———

By nightfall, Elijah returned and gave them the jar of herbs back, apologizing profoundly to Athena who told him that all was forgiven, however, if he ever did something like that again, she would chase him down because no one messed with the wolves, her wolves, Hayley's family. Speaking of the wolves, each one had thanked the Queen silently with a bow of their head before trotting off, no doubt to go sleep. Hayley headed into one of the cabins with Eve who was watching over her. Thomas had gone back to his apartment, waiting for Athena to return. He planned to ask her to be his girlfriend when she arrived from checking in on Rebekah after hearing what happened.

Oh, how the night had other plans. She walked past the crypts, her eyes darting around as she looked for Rebekah who had called her and told her of her location. When she turned the corner, she saw Elijah there as well, looking extremely worried for the blonde.

"What are you doing here? Rebekah, you should be on the other side of the world by now."

"You and I both know that wouldn't have been far enough," Rebekah replied, causing Athena to become concerned.

She shook her head. "What's going on?" They both spun to her, their eyes widening as they saw someone behind her. When she did turn around, there was Klaus, looking absolutely enraged.

"Get away from her, both of you!" He bellowed, his eyes turning golden, veins protruding from his face as his fangs came out. "She's mine."

Athena hissed at him instinctively, knowing he had intentions of harming Rebekah. Her violet eyes shone brightly back at him, her own dark veins appearing as well, backing up away from him. Elijah held Papa Tunde's blade in his hands, it shaking in his grasp as his own vampire face appeared, baring his fangs at Klaus. Rebekah did the same, the three of them prepared to fight against their brother.

The night always seemed to have other plans.

———

And there we have it ladies and gentlemen, the first Athemas kiss! I'm going to bet some of you scrolled down here, saw this sentence and are about to go scrambling to find this part, if you haven't done so already, lol. I portrayed it as realistically as I could for someone who hasn't had their first kiss yet. I already knew they would get a bit carried away in the feeling of one another and I found it to be cute in all honesty. I also tried to make it as detailed as I could without going overboard.

How did you guys like their first kiss?

I hope you guys have a great day/night and don't forget to vote on this chapter, comment your thoughts, and follow me for updates!
