"TONY!" Kaelyn exclaimed worriedly as soon as Thanos was gone, running over to the man and wrapping her arms around him while he was using his suit to heal himself or at least tie himself back together again. She was so scared of losing him, she didn't want to let go. "I thought... I thought you were..."

"It's okay, I'm okay, we're all okay, right?" Tony reassured, looking around to make sure everyone was good, "Is anyone hurt?"

"Did we just lose?" Star-Lord's question interrupted the concern as his eyes met Tony's. His expression was incredulous and Kaelyn understood why. They had him, but now he had one more stone and they were weaker than ever.

Tony didn't answer Quill's question, instead, he turned to look over at Doctor Strange who had a somber expression on his face, "Why would you do that?"

All the man had to say to defend himself was, "We're in the endgame now."

"Wait, I mean, Strange, you saw one future where we won, right? So... in order for us to get to that point, you had to sacrifice the Time stone, right? So we still have a chance?" Kaelyn did her best to connect the dots, but she was terrified of sounding stupid in a situation so detrimental. "What if wherever Thanos went, the rest of the Avengers are, what if they can get us out of this?"

Peter nodded along with what she was saying, "Yeah, Thanos needed the Time Stone in order for us to get to the future where we won, right Strange?"

"It's not up to us anymore," was all the man had to say and Kaelyn hated him for being so cryptic in such a desperate moment. The girl scoffed, groaning in frustration as she let Peter wrap his arms around her. She hated having her fate be so completely in someone else's hands. A creeping feeling made its way up her spine that seemed to be screaming at her that they would not be making it out of this alive. She wondered what death would feel like or if she would be part of the 50% that survived. What would her life be like without half of the people in it? Would they be gone forever or would the remaining Avengers bring everyone back? Even if they brought them back, there's no knowing how much things would change.

Of course, all of these feelings morphed into anger as she stormed over to Strange, shouting, "Can you give me a straight answer for once in your goddamn life? We could all be dead in the next five minutes and even if we don't, we are stuck on some random planet and I have school tomorrow, god damn it! I don't know if my parents are some evil anti-S.H.I.E.L.D weirdos, I don't know if my best friend is okay, I don't know if my brother is okay, and I still have a stupid math test I have to study for! These problems may seem trivial to you Mr. Master of the Mystic Arts, but I don't give a shit! I'm seventeen and I am staring death in the face! Do you have any idea what that's like? No, you don't. You fucking don't."

Everyone seemed to be taken back from her explosion as in the last year Kaelyn had mostly gotten her killer mean streak under control, but she was a little stressed at the moment. Not even just stressed, but downright terrified. She whipped around to look at the others, almost daring them to say something, anything.

"Ex-fucking-actly," she exclaimed once no one broke the painful silence, "I'm sick of fighting and I'm sick of being a superhero, I just want to go home."

Without saying anything, Peter walked over to her, his eyes meeting hers for a moment. Hers were watery and angry, but his were gentle and understanding. He was just a kid, too. They were too young to have the world on their shoulders, yet here they were. Without another word, he wrapped his arms around her and didn't let go. Kaelyn didn't realize how much she missed being a kid until she didn't have the option anymore and it was killing her. It was painstaking to look at her future in the face and kiss it goodbye.

Speaking of goodbyes, she moved away from Peter slightly so that she could cup his face in her hands. She spoke softly, so just the two of them could hear, "I love you. I... want you to know I don't regret any of it. From catching you on that stupid rooftop to following you out the door at homecoming. I will follow you into the end of the world, Peter, always."

"Kaelyn..." he began, but words fell flat as their eyes met with so much left to say between them, "I love you."

This was the end of all things, truly. She tried and tried to have hope, but it wasn't enough, it was never enough. As she held Peter's face in her hands, she wanted to cry but what good was there in tears when the end of the world, of her world, was upon them? Nothing, there was nothing. Kaelyn didn't know if she had quite accepted that she was stuck on a planet in the middle of the universe with fate as her enemy, but as she met Peter's eyes it was beginning to settle in. All she could see was the end.

That's when it started; the beginning of the end.

"Something's happening," Mantis spoke as they all began to struggle and regroup. Within a moment, Mantis had collapsed to dust.

A tear slipped from Kaelyn's eye, this was it. He had done it.

Next, Drax began to fade away, his last word was filled with confusion as he looked towards his leader, "Quill?"

Kaelyn clutched Peter tighter, now crying, "Peter, I don't wanna lose you."

"Steady, Quill," Tony spoke firmly, trying to stay calm, "It'll be okay, kids, we'll be okay."

However, she had a daunting feeling he was just saying that to keep her from crying anymore, but she was tired of holding it back. She was going to die, she knew it. Two people had already turned to dust, but who would be next? Her fingers clutched Peter's suit, not daring to let go, petrified he would turn to dust in her hands.

"Oh, man," was all Quill had to say before he, too, was dust in the atmosphere.

"Tony," Doctor Strange called out, shaking his head with an apology in his eyes, "There was no other way."

With that statement, he was dust as well, leaving the three of them. If she was any good at math, she would be calculating her odds, but it was useless. Even if it didn't take her, there was no way it wouldn't take Peter or Tony and she didn't want to live without either of them. Not to mention she would likely die alone on Titan anyway.

Clutching her love as tightly as she could, she sobbed, "Peter, I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go. I don't wanna..."

Everything went black.
