First period ended abruptly. And the remaining classes went by fast, till it was now recess.

Students were now swarming the lobby, on their way to the cafeteria. James and Ayo were the last to leave the class, and they were strolling out like kings. Few people hailing them left and right. Those hailing them partly feared them too, as they were the prank kings, and they did that pretty well.

One time in J.S.S 1, they replaced a chart with an embarrassing photo of their arts teacher. All because he gave them a very tight deadline for an assignment. A year later, they did the same thing to one of the science teachers in school. This time, it was a skeleton chart, and instead of it, a huge photo of the teacher's face was stuck to the head of the skeleton, and some other parts sprayed. They said that was payback for calling them an unintelligent student. They had one time switched the vector image on the teacher's toilet doors, from male to female, and what happened after that was pretty embarrassing. On the principal's birthday, an anonymous gift was sent to him, and when he opened it, huge slime popped onto his face. But because it was his birthday, he didn't act out rashly. Even if he wanted to, he wasn't going to find those behind it. Some students have been reporting issues that their bag's zipper was glued, until that died down.

Ayo and James felt justified within themselves that it was those who deserved it that got it. All these, and many more have these troublesome minions been doing since their first year there. They felt it was fun, and a way of expressing themselves. And also teaching those who messed with them a lesson.

James couldn't still get over how Ayo planted that glue on the Government teacher's seat. As they took a stroll to the cafeteria, they couldn't stop talking about it.

"I had to get to school early, to be able to pull that off." Ayo confidently said.

"Man, you're starting to get better than me." James teased.

"What can I say?" Ayo raised an eyebrow. "Though that doesn't mean the assignment is off the table." It then dawned on him. His actions didn't mean they weren't still going to attempt the assignment the teacher had previously given them.

"I know right." James laughed.

"Well, I did it. And that's all that matters." Ayo concluded, and James agreed.

The cafeteria doors were already in full view, as they could see students throng in and out of it. They could already smell the sweet aroma of varieties of food. They were picking up hints of fried rice, hotdogs, fried egg, and something so delicious that they couldn't quite figure out what it was. And then all of a sudden an image caught their attention.

"Hey, look. It's Feyi." Ayo pointed, and immediately he did, Feyi looked back to meet James and Ayo's gaze.

"Hey, Feyi! How's your hair?" James asked loudly, and some students that heard snickered in mockery. James was referring to when Feyi was going for basketball practice and then she tripped on a rope, which caused a bucket of milk to pour all over her. It ruined her clothes but most importantly, her hair.

"I know you guys are behind this." She gnashed, showing off her slender frame, with her melanin skin, glowing beneath her uniform.

"What? We weren't even in school." James lied, laughing wryly.

She didn't say another word. Only her glare was what they saw when she mouthed, that she was going to make them pay, and then she disappeared behind the cafeteria doors.

Feyi was Amaka's best friend. Amaka being the girl every guy would love to hang out with or even date. And that included James and Ayo. One time, because James was too scared to walk up to her, he asked Feyi to give Amaka a rose and a note on how he felt about her on Valentine's day. Instead, Feyi ended up reading it out loud to the whole class, embarrassing him. Which was what brought about the spilt milk on Feyi. Though she didn't have proof, she was sure they both planted it. Which they did. They waived her bluffs instantly, and with a burning urge for food, they thronged into the cafeteria.

She didn't even have to scan the cafeteria to look for her friend, as she already knew their favorite spot. With slight rage burning through her, she walked over to their table, having maneuvered through the sea of tables and students. She didn't even make eye contact with her friend, and the other two girls whom she shared the table with, and just planted herself into the bench.

"Hey. Feyi?" Amaka called, her deep red lips spread widely in a smile.

Feyi looked up, meeting her friend's gaze, but not returning the smile.

"What's wrong?" Amaka asked, the smile fading off, as other students' chatter faded into muffles.

"I swear to God, I'm going to..." Feyi made a fistball, jaws tightened and face flushed.

Amaka gave a half-smile, "is it James and Ayo again?"

"Oh my God. They're such idiots!" She agreed, in a vexed tone. "And I'm gonna make them pay. That's a promise." She affirmed.

Amaka took a sip out of her orange juice, and asked Feyi to just ignore them. What did Amaka know anyways? She had never been pranked. She wouldn't know how it felt.

"Come on. Forget about them." Amaka said, and it seemed Feyi had softened her looks a little. "I hope you've not forgotten about my birthday tomorrow?" She chipped in, with a patronising gaze.

"I dare not!" Feyi replied cheerfully, and now a smile hung on her lips. "It's gon' be lit!" She howled.

"Yeah, yeah. And I know your definition of lit." Amaka lifted an eyebrow, giving her a funny look. "Remember, I didn't invite the whole school." She said, and it seemed like the other two girls whom they shared a table with didn't seem to bother about their conversations. They just ate.

"Of course," Feyi agreed, and her eyes randomly fell on James and Ayo, as they ate on a table far off. She now glared at them, even though they didn't notice. She glared hard and long enough that she was starting to drown in a stream of thoughts, until Amaka brought her back to herself.

"Are you still thinking about those dummies?" Asked Amaka, as her brown irises glinted under the combination of white light and the sunlight from outside, perfectly complimenting her light skin tone.

"Nah." She said, and looked to her side, like she was coming to a desperate resolve. "I can bring my own guests, right?" She asked.

"Duh. You can bring your mom, if you want to. Just make sure she wouldn't mind the stuff teenagers do when they party." Amaka said, and out came a laughter from both of them.

Amaka's laugh was genuine because she found that question funny. But Feyi on the other hand, was concealing an suspicious agenda behind her series of wry laughters and chuckles.
