It's been well over 24 hours since I've last seen or heard from either of the three Mikaelson siblings. I've assumed they're all together trying to settle this, well, at least I think Elijah is.
However, it turns out Rebekah did come back to New Orleans with Marcel to fetch the witch Davina. They killed one of the witches that came back from the dead and as of now, Davina is back and living. That's the most I've heard, but other than that, it's been silent.
A small sigh falls out of my lips as I look down from the balcony, my hands stretched out to hold onto the metal railings. The night sky stares down at me and a small breeze of wind brushes past against me.
The lights from other buildings and streetlights shine throughout the city and it truly is a stunning view.
"I've always imagined the two of us on a balcony together beneath the New Orlean's lights."
My heels spin at the sound of his voice. Klaus stands there with his hands behind his back. My eyes travel with his every move until he's next to me on the balcony, except his eyes are looking at the view like I was not long ago.
"Rebekah. Is she-"
"I let her go," he simply responds and a small smile appears on my face along with a sigh of relief. "She has the freedom I should've gaven her ages ago." he then adds.
"Thank you." I tell him softly, turning my attention back to the streets down below me.
"Maya," I hear his voice grow more serious. "I need to apologize."
"Klaus, you don't have to..." I turn back to him, reassuring him. He shakes his head as his eyes burn into mine. "No, Maya. Let me explain."
"I've kept track of those who hurt you over the years and I wanted to keep your pain minimal, however, I've hurt you more than those who hurt you and I'm sorry." he tells me, his voice showing compassion, which almost made my heart melt.
"Truth is, I was so frustrated that my siblings have decided to go against me and I took it out on you. There's no excuse for what I did, but I want to make it up to you."
"You don't have to apologize. I have already forgiven you..." I trail on, revealing the truth. My response seemed to offend him, "How could you possibly do that? I don't deserve your forgiveness. Not after what I've done to you."
"Because I love you," Those words fall out of my lips, causing his head to snap up with a small warm smile. I wanted to divulge this to him, so he understands completely.
Silence fills the balcony, but it was nice and peaceful. His hand touches my arm and my attention turns to him and he leans in closer, whispering softly. "I broke us and I'm willing to fix us. You just have to let me," he says and I nod softly.
He plants a kiss on my cheek, his next words as soothing as they can be. "I love you too,"

I slip on a pair of high heels, sighing as I proceed to get ready for the party Elijah decided to throw. Something along the lines of wanting peace with everyone. This included the humans, vampires, witches, and even the werewolves.
Ever since Hayley was able to get the cure for her family from Celeste, they want control of New Orleans as well. As if now, the werewolves are able to walk on their barefoot freely for the rest of their lives besides turning on every full moon... Their Crescent curse was broken.
Speaking of Hayley, she's been staying at the bayou for the past month. I didn't want to force her to stay here when the only reason why she's carrying my child was to find her family. And when she did, I didn't want to take that from her. However, I have been doing daily check ups on her and the baby and everything seems fine for now.
Rebekah has officially left the compound and I'm not sure if she's coming back. Last I talked to her was a few weeks ago, but other than that it's been silent between the two of us. I know she's happy on her own though, so, I accept whatever decision she makes.
And as for Klaus... we hardly made any progress. I've been taking up my free time wandering around New Orleans and he's been disappearing lately. We haven't actually had a real conversation in weeks. From what I learned, Klaus abandoned his throne to the city and Elijah as been cleaning us his mess. Hence why he decided to throw a party...
Another sigh escapes my lips as I take a glance at myself from my full-length mirror. I managed to find a tight black dress that fits just above my knees with the very limited clothing I have since everything I owned got burned down, again.
I exit my new bedroom and take my time walking to another room. The party has already started and blue lights shined everywhere, voices clattered down below me, and some people were hanging out by the stairs.
By the time I got to the room, the music and voices had faded. The door's already opened, so I step inside to be greeted by Klaus standing in front of his mirror, fixing his tie.
"Hello, love." he says as I make my way over to him. A tingling sensation rushes through my body once he said those words, but I chose to ignore it.
His room is incredibly huge. There's two entrances to walk in, one to one side of room which contains his bed, and the other, which walks right into his sitting area. That's the door I walked into.
I stand next to him, admiring his new paintings he had scattered around his working space. He turns around and his eyes travel up and down at my figure. He licks his lips, making my knees feel weak.
"You look absolutely stunning." he tells me and I give him a small smile, "Thank you and you look..." I couldn't even find the right words. He is just so breathtaking.
Klaus nods once, opening his arm and I wrap mine around it. We leave his room and make our way to a balcony that hovers over the activity happening downstairs. Other people were also nearby.
"I'm impressed, brother." Elijah steps in, handing the two of us drinks.
"Yes." Klaus responds simply, his eyes still watching over the party. "Now if I can just keep them from tearing one another to shreds." Elijah says and a small chuckle comes out of me.
"Well, then for your sake, here's to a spectacularly boring evening." Klaus raises his drink and clinks it against our drink. I take the drink of the alcoholic beverage and Elijah nudges me. "Watch over him, please." he tells me with a hint of humor. "Now, if you would excuse me,"
I watch as Elijah leaves the two of us and Klaus scoffs besides me, calling out to his brother. "I do not need to be watched!"
"I'm glad you're here with me." I hear Klaus say besides me after a few minutes. "I'm glad I'm here too." I tell him softly and the corners of my mouth curve slightly upward.
"And besides, I've been here for about a month in case you haven't noticed." I tell him, trying to hint the fact I wanted to spend time with him, not completely ignore each other.
"Of course I've noticed, Maya." Klaus turns his full body towards me and his right arm rests on the railing. "If you feel like I have been avoiding you, I'm sor-"
"Stop apologizing to me!"
"How can I not? Every time I look at you, I can't help but feel guilty to what I've done to you." he confesses and I exhale a breath, lowering my voice so the people around us wouldn't notice. "You don't need to feel guilty. I told you already that I forgive you."
"Yes, however, I cannot forgive myself." Klaus tells me with a frown emerging on his lips. "You are the one who lied to me and I chose to forgive you. I'm the only one who should forgive you. Not you or anyone else."
"I find that absurd."
"Really?" I question him and he nods once, "Yes. I find it ridiculous that you found a way to forgive me when the witch Genevieve tells me you feel the exact opposite."
"Don't you get it? I'm trying to push this past us so we can finally move on and slowly go back to where we were, but you're not letting me!"
I watch as he begins to respond back, but his eyes travel behind me and he inches closer to them. I spin back around, seeing the brunette wolf I met with Hayley, walk into Klaus' room down the hallway.
"Excuse me," Klaus says as he walks past me. He turns towards me once more, "We will finish this discussion later."
I roll my eyes, shaking my head at his actions. I should've known he would somehow find a way out of this. Taking the drink Elijah handed me earlier, I chug it down my throat and eventually make my way downstairs to join the party.
My hand grabs onto another drink once I take my last step on the stairs. As I take another sip, I take a look at my surroundings. Groups of people were dispersed around the dance floor. Some were near the food stand and some near me, at the drink section.
"Last time you drank, you kicked me out." I hear a feminine voice speak from behind me. I rotate my position and smile as soon as I see Hayley standing there. Her baby bump was so much bigger than the last time I saw her.
"Yeah, we don't talk about that." I tell her and give her a look with a playful smile hanging on my lips. I take one more taste of my drink and Hayley's eyes furrow at me, "Everything alright? You seem upset."
"I'm fine. It's just-"
"Klaus?" she questions and I simply nod once. Hayley doesn't reply and instead, she glances besides me and shrugs, "Speaking of the devil."
"May I have this dance?" My heels spin around and I'm face-to-face with Klaus. Before I had the chance to protest, Hayley beats me to it. "Of course she will."
After I glare at the woman behind me, I take Klaus' hand and he leads me to the dance floor where multiple people were dancing around us. I put one hand on his shoulder and the other intertwines with his. His free hand then rests on my lower back and he grins down at me.
"This isn't going to make me forget what we talked about earlier," I tell him and he nods, "I know it won't, love. And we will discuss it later but, it felt like ages since the last time you and I danced."
His statement quickly reminded me of the last time we danced and I immediately smiled at the memory. "1920s dance, wasn't it?"
The thought alone made me realize how innocent we were, relationship wise. I was just figuring out my feelings for Klaus and I knew they were there and I was choosing to ignore it. We all know how that chapter ended...
I lean in closer and rest my head on his shoulder as we continue to dance to the music. My eyes meet Hayley's who is dancing with the wolf boy Klaus followed earlier. I spring my head back and look into my lover's eyes. "Are you going to tell me what you were doing with Jackson before?"
"You know him?" he asks me, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly, and I nod quickly, "Yes. We've met before but that's not what I asked."
"I'll explain later. Not here," Klaus' voice lowers and I sigh once more, understanding because there's vampires nearby.
When I turn my head back, my face is so close to his, making my breathing hitch. Our gazing eyes never leaving each other and I can feel his breath right on my lips. My left hand suddenly clutches onto his shoulder as he pulls my forward. And it truly felted like it was just the two of us in here. Before his lips could reach mine, I pull away from his grasp.
"No, we're going to take this slow." I tell him and he softly rolls his eyes, "You're really going to make me work for this, aren't you?"
I didn't even get a chance to reply when his arms suddenly wrap around my body and moves us backwards. A blonde body crashes into the table close to us and champagne glasses shatter and another person vamp-speeds to the destruction, only for that blonde guy to pin the vampire to a wall. Diego and Oliver.
Suddenly, Elijah appears and pulls Oliver off of Diego before pushing him against a table. "This ends now. I won't ask again."
"Oh, we'll end it all right." A new voice arrives to the scene. Jackson has Diego pushed up against the wall, a stake aimed right at his heart.
"What's stopping you? Kill him. Go ahead, Elijah. Do it. I mean, it's not like he doesn't deserve to die." Hayley retorts from the top of the staircase.
"Shouldn't you intervene or something?" A woman besides Klaus and I inquires. Klaus shrugs with a grin, "Why would I? This party just got interesting."
I decided to follow by his rules and not include myself in their upcoming argument. Hayley steps down from the last flight of stairs and makes her way down near Elijah and the rest of them.
"I mean, it was Oliver who handed Rebekah over to the witches so they could torture her. But, then again, wasn't it Diego who led a werewolf massacre last month? And the witches cursed the wolves, while the humans stood back and let it all happen. So, when you think about it, everyone here deserves to die."
"Are you approaching a point?" Elijah questions, his words lingering in anger.
"My point, Elijah, is this—if we can't all learn to get along, if our families can't create some sort of community, then what's the point? Kill each other and get it all over with."
Elijah lets go of Oliver, and Jackson reluctantly lets go of Diego as well.
"That went well," I hear Klaus behind me.
