"Hayley, who the hell are these people and why are they bringing kegs out back?" I walk outside the front steps of the plantation once her and Rebekah arrived.

A guilty look spreads across her face. "It's the full moon."

"And?" I cross my arms, wondering what she has up her sleeves. "Yeah, so what? You're preggers, you can't turn." Rebekah chimes in.

Hayley shrugs innocently, "Yes, but I wanted to invite a few people over..."

"Of course. Every red-blooded American werewolf will be a bundle of fur and sharp teeth tonight, whilst your cursed Crescent Clan will be—" Rebekah states before she gets cuts off by Hayley, "Human, but only for a few hours, and won't be again until the next full moon, so... I asked Josh to get a message out to Eve in the Bayou."

"Josh isn't dead yet? Well good on him. I love a nice survival story." Rebekah throws a smile. I let my arms fall and give Hayley a look, "So, you decided to throw a party for your wolf friends? Without consenting with me first? I could have plans."

"They're not my friends, they're family. And what plans do you have besides weeping over Klaus?" she responds and I roll my eyes, not saying anything back because she wasn't wrong.

"Right. It appears you weren't gonna wait for me to grant you permission to throw a kegger." Rebekah says.

"Listen, you all want me safe? Fine. I'll do as I'm told. I'll play damsel in the glass tower. But tonight's the one night a month that I can meet my family. Now, you could rat me out and send me to my room, or you could help me to throw one hell of a party." Haley tells us and struts inside the house.

I stop Rebekah before she could repeat her steps. "How is he?" I ask her, curiosity overwhelming me. I went back to Mystic Falls not that long ago after I got a call saying Katherine is dying. I wanted Klaus to come with, but at our current state I didn't think it was appropriate. I haven't seen him since Davina never raised from the dead...

"He misses you. He doesn't have to say it but it shows... are you planning on forgiving him soon?" Rebekah asks and I nod, "He had me believe he cheated and that the child I was preparing for wasn't mine. What he did was terrible yet I do find myself wanting to forgive him. Does that make me an awful person?"

"No, Maya. It doesn't."

§

I pour the last bag of chips in a bowl and look around the house, making sure I wasn't missing anything. I sigh, walking back into the kitchen and immediately spot Rebekah staring at a blonde, shirtless, man. He's one of the crescent wolves.

"There's shirts outside!" I turn my head right away and put the bowl of chips on the counter top. "Hayley, the party's here!" Rebekah tells out loud then gives me a look.

The man soon leaves outside and Rebekah exhales out a sigh. "Thank you for saving me." she smiles, going back to cooking the crawfish. "Who was that?" I ask, grabbing some drinks from the grocery bags.

"His name is Oliver and I think he was flirting with me." she tells me, but I can tell she seemed to like it. "I don't trust these wolves." I say and she turns to me, "You do realize the love of your life is a wolf."

"These wolves excludes Klaus." I tell her and continue on, "And Hayley."

"Are you saying you don't hate her anymore?" Rebekah raises her eyebrows with a small grin. I squint my eyes lightly. "I never hated her. Now, come and help me bring these outside please."

We make our way outside and set down the rest of the party snacks on some picnic table. The backyard has been decorated by dozens of candles and strings of lights. The full moon shines throughout the night sky as the rest of the crescent wolves dance freely with the music some of them were playing. There's so many scattered around. Thankfully they were fully clothed.

"I got my shirt." I hear behind me. I spin at the sound of the voice, watching Oliver show off his smile to Rebekah, who seems amused. "Although, I think you prefer me without it."

My mouth drops slightly and Rebekah glances me a look. I chuckle lightly and walk away from the two of them in hopes to find Hayley in this overcrowded backyard.

I step into the plantation after making no progress in finding the woman who's carrying my child. Inside, there's already empty cups and beer bottles showered everywhere.

A group escapes my lips and I grab a plastic bag and shove the garbage into the bag. I follow where the rest of them landed and into the living room. Hayley stands there with a shaggy curly brunette sitting at the piano, playing softly.

"Oh," I stand up straight. "I was looking for you." I tell Hayley, scratching the back of my head. "Oh, Maya. Meet Jackson."

I give him a small smile with a wave and he returns one. "Jackson was just telling me that he's supposed to be my husband." Hayley blurts out and I widen my eyes. "What?"

"It's just apart of the Crescent ritual. Obviously things didn't work out the way anyone thought they would. Our pack made a huge misstep with the vampires when we refused to back down, and Marcel had us cursed by a witch. You are the last one of your bloodline, Andréa. Or Hayley, whatever you call yourself. These people will follow you. You can help them—you and what you represent."

I furrow my eyebrows, not expecting to get so much information at once.  "And what is that exactly?" Hayley asks him.

"A time when things were different. When our people fought back. And after everything you went through to find us... You're the one who's gonna break our curse."

"What are you talking about?"

"Your witch friend. She told Eve she was coming here tonight to set us free."

"Wait, what witch friend?" Hayley questions and I set down the plastic bag. "I'm going to get Rebekah." I tell her, rushing out the door and into the backyard.

I stop running and looking around for Rebekah or Oliver, who were no where to be found. I tap on some nearby werewolves and they told me they went into the woods. I roll my eyes and follow their direction.

I walk into the unfamiliar woods and call out Rebekah's name and hear nothing but my footsteps stepping onto the dead leaves.

Suddenly, I hear screaming from afar. I can see the plantation house from here and it looked like it was on fire. Hayley!

"Well, hello. I was planning on meeting you someday."

My eyes travel to a redhead woman standing in front of me, a smirk playing on her lips. I gulp slightly, assuming she's the witch Jackson was talking about.

"Where's Rebekah?" I ask her, not even bothering to know who she is. "She's tucked away somewhere safely. Why don't you come with me and I'll show you where."

She sticks out her and and I didn't accept it. I needed to go back to the house to make sure Hayley was out of there. My feet behind scurrying out of the woods, but her voice stops me.

"Don't worry about going back in there. Elijah chose her over all of you, so she's going to be fine." I hear her behind me and I swiftly turn back to her. I have no idea what she meant when she said Elijah chose her. "Who are you?" I finally ask.

"Call me Genevieve."

§

I flutter my eyes open, glancing at my hands and feet that were tied down by restraints to a red chair. I jolted, looking around my surroundings. I wince slightly as a pounding heading continues to grow louder.

The walls were shredded, broken furniture scattered around—although they weren't normal furniture. It seemed to remind me of an old hospital. Pieces of metal bed frames were noticeable as well as some mattresses placed on them.

I yank on the restraints once more before a voice startles me. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

I slowly turn my head to face the witch I had met last night—or I assume last night considering the bright sun shines through the windows. "Where the hell am I?"

"You're in an abandoned hospital, but don't worry. I'll take care of you." she tells me, walking over to a table where she starts fending some ingredients I'm not aware of.

"Rebekah..." I say weakly, my headache continuing to bother me. "She's here in this hospital with you. Along with Klaus." she replies and walks over to me. Her fingers softly touches my cheek and she gives me a small smile.

"That headache you're feeling won't last long. You are very hard to handle and there's only one way I could bring you here without a fight." Her hand leaves my face and she turns around back to her table.

"If you're wondering why Rebekah and Klaus are here... let's just say I came back for revenge and I'm opted to tell you, but I am curious to see how you got caught in the family drama. You are close friends with Rebekah, are you not?"

I nod my head slightly, "I am."

"Oh, you poor thing. You're not familiar with Rebekah's treachery... yet." Genevieve's voice lingers on for a moment and I shoot her a questionable look.

"Let's not get into that right now. While you were asleep, I went into your mind to find your current whereabouts. And my, my, aren't you angry." she says, leaning down in front of me. "What are you talking about?" I inquire.

"Don't play dumb with me, Maya. We both know who you share that angry towards."

"Why bring me here?" I ask, averting that discussion. "I'm here to help you. I need you to see what you've gotten yourself into since the minute you laid eyes on Klaus."

"You're not the first." I roll my eyes vaguely. Genevieve's red hair swiftly turns as her hands grab onto a bowl. "Drink this." she orders, shoving the edge of the bowl to the tip of my mouth.

"What is it?" I ask, refusing to drink it unless I know what exactly she plans on putting in my system. "If you want that headache to go away, I suggest you drink this."

She tilts the bowl and the warm substance trickles down my throat. I cough at the potent taste, not familiar with it at all. However, the headache did fade away rather quickly.

She returns back to her table and starts to hum softly to herself. I needed to get out of here quickly without her realizing. If Klaus and Rebekah are here, surely they'll find a way to escape. I just hope they know I'm here too.

"The potion I gave you linked your mind with Rebekah's. I planned this just for Klaus, but then I realized you're in the picture. You need to know what your best friend is capable of. Now, if you excuse me. I have other patients to attend to." Genevieve then takes her bowl and walks out of the room and leaves me all alone.

I look down at the restraints to figure out a way to free myself, but I couldn't think of anything. My mind suddenly gets occupied. Rebekah and Genevieve from 1919 enters into my brain and soon reveals the truth.

§

I'm awoken by the sound of music blaring through the walls. I gasp, sitting back up yet my arm gets pulled down. I look down and memories flood from earlier sink in.

"No! No! Please!" I hear Rebekah's voice laced with fear echo in the hallway. Then, suddenly the music stops playing and that's when I call out her name. "Rebekah!"

"No, no, no..." Rebekah's body clings onto the doorway into the room I'm in. "Rebekah..." I look at her and worry for her life. Her clothes are disheveled and ripped, and unhealed wounds that are exposed. Her sweaty pale skin and dark shadows beneath her eyes are visible.

She lets go of the door and makes her way over to me. She breathes heavily, taking precautious steps in her weakened state. "What-what happened to you?"

"Nik! He-he's gonna kill me."

"What are you talking about?!" I ask her and her hands grab onto the chair I'm sitting in. "Maya, you have to help me."

"You can't hide from me forever, Rebekah!" I snap my head up at the sound of Klaus' voice. "Rebekah! What did you do?" I whisper in hopes Klaus cannot hear us. Then I remembered what Rebekah had done that can anger Klaus in ways words cannot explain.

She summoned Mikael, her own father, to kill Klaus so she can have a happy ending with Marcel. She had used Genevieve to cast a spell on their father, then she killed her when Genevieve wanted to tell Klaus what she had done. Now that she's back, she wants revenge.

"You sent Mikael to kill him." I turn to her, a small frown forms on my lips. A look of horror washes over her face and she rapidly shakes her head. "No! No, I wanted to scare him off. Please, Maya, you have to believe me. What-whatever she said it isn't true."

"You lived through his pain and terror. How could you do this to him?" I ask her and she stands up, tripping over her own feet. "You don't get it. He-he's going to kill me. You have to help me." Tears form in the corner of her eyes, her lips quivering in fear.

"Rebekah!" Klaus yells and he seemed to be getting closer. "Rebekah, you need to leave now. I'll hold him off." I tell her and she nods. She looks down at my tied hands and releases half of me. "I got the rest. Go!" I instruct her and her feet slide against the floor as she helplessly tries to leave the room.

I release myself completely and let my feet hit the ground. I stand up to gain my balance and leave the room shortly after Rebekah did. My eyes wander around the place as I weakly walk around to find Klaus.

The hallway looks worse than the room I was in. Doors were missing, old items dispersed everywhere to the point where I was stepping over them. I take a deep breath and let my feet come to a halt when I see Klaus standing there with a curved knife in his hand.

"Klaus."

"What are you doing here?" he says almost immediately and takes small steps to approach me. "I don't know. She left me here." I tell him as I push my hair away from my face.

"You're shaking." he observes me and I look down at my hand, which is in fact shaking. I am scared. Scared for Rebekah because at this point I'm not sure what Klaus is planning on doing. I can't read through him anymore.

His black shirt hangs tightly around his body, his hand holding tightly on that knife, his pale and sweaty skin showed distress. "What are you doing with that?" I point to his knife.

He holds it up with a smirk. "Meet the Papa Tunde blade. This was embedded in my chest and I've never felt such physical pain. You're immobilized, imprisoned in a state of raw, inescapable anguish. Time loses all meaning. It's not unlike a living hell, which I find rather fitting, given Rebekah's treachery."

"You're not implanting that in Rebekah."

"Yes I will. Nobody, not even you, can stop me." Klaus tells me and he moves past me. His legs taking him where Rebekah had gone not that long ago.

"No, you can't. She's your sister." I ran after him trying to stop him. He continues walking as if he cannot hear my cries to him. His anger is so powerful that there was nothing I could do.

I stop chasing after him, finding it no use. My breathing hitched as I try to regain control of it again. A hand grabs my arm and I spin around, gasping.

"Where has Niklaus gone?" Elijah's accent whispers behind me. I meet his eyes and he tilts his head, caressing my cheek for a split second before pulling away. I point to where Klaus had gone and he nods, thanking me.

"Go outside and do not go back inside. Do you understand?" Elijah puts his hands on my shoulders and I nod quickly. "Protect Rebekah." I tell him and he smiles softly, speeding his way to his siblings.
