{Personality}
Although Alva is more on the quiet side, he isn't what one would consider shy. He'll talk to people if they engage him but it's not usual for him to be the one to instigate conversations and he has the tendency to be cagey. He's a bit of a romantic, however, and his many past failed relationships have all left a decent impact on him; he's simultaneously afraid to fall in love and constantly longing to do just that. He doesn't get angry very easily but has been known to be self-destructive when it comes to his own failures. He's also very free-spirited and hates to have his creativity or freedom limited.
{Skills}
Alva can be unexpectedly charismatic when he wants to be; people are generally willing to talk to him and seem to enjoy doing so. He's also very observant thanks to his quieter nature. He spends more time watching and listening than drawing attention to himself so he notices things that most people might miss. He can negotiate quite well and he's very dextrous.
{Likes}
Alva adores the arts; they are his dearest love and he really doesn't need anything else to be happy. Although he does enjoy music and literature quite a bit (one of his hobbies is indeed reading), he excels most when it comes to visual arts. Painting specifically is his strong suit. He also has a liking for laying in patches of sunlight in an almost catlike manner, and he seems to constantly crave any and all forms of physical affection. He has an appreciation for beauty and seems to be able to find it in even the most unconventional places.
{Dislikes}
He actually isn't all that fond of sweet things, but the bane of his existence is the paint that gets in his hair when he forgets to tie it back and stays for weeks on end. He doesn't like being yelled at or being given restrictions; he likes to be able to be free to do as he chooses--which is why he dropped out of art school after his first year. He's also very disorganized, but he truly hates that about himself.
{Talents}
Alva is naturally skilled when it comes to painting, particularly oil. He can generally recreate most styles of painting, though he excels most in realism and impressionism. He can do several other forms of visual arts (watercolor, charcoal, etc.), though paint is his preferred medium. He seems to have a knack for dancing even though he doesn't do it often. He's also skilled with his hands, allowing him to efficiently perform tasks that require a delicate touch.
{Dreams}
It's always been a dream of his to paint full-time, but that has yet to become a reality. He also, like all people of his romantic nature, hopes to find 'the one', so to speak. He doesn't necessarily want a perfect life, just the perfect person to spend it with.

Job~
Alva works as a bartender at a nightclub, and on the side he paints commissions for extra money.
Education~
He went to public school his whole life, and after graduating, he attended an art school. However, he dropped out after his first year because he felt quite limited, like he was being forced to make art simply for the benefit of others rather than to express himself. He hasn't had any sort of formal education since.
Family life~
Alva has no siblings, and was raised by his aunt and uncle since he was an infant. Although he no longer lives with them, he is on very good terms with them and they call each other occasionally just to catch up. His aunt and uncle both work in the same museum as a curator and restorer of artworks.
Backstory~
His parents died in a car accident when Alva was still a baby. He was taken into the care of his aunt and uncle, who he didn't know weren't his real parents until he was about five. However, he took it surprisingly well and despite his guardians not being his parents, he thinks of them as such and addresses them as his mother and father. His aunt and uncle were very artistic people, and given that he grew up surrounded by works of art and knowledge of it, he naturally became interested in the arts at a young age. His guardians were surprisingly understanding when he dropped out of art school, although by that point he had already moved into a small apartment by himself to be closer to his former school. He decided not to move back home and instead found himself a job in the area and is currently working towards being able to support himself on painting alone.
