Chapter Twenty-Three.

Lillian was shocked, surprised, and confused as she looked around as everyone chuckled at her surprised smiling face. Her baby shower wasn't for another week and half but is this it? She doesn't understand and she's so confused but the surprise couldn't help but her smile and tear up a little.

Her hands came up to her mouth as she turned around, "What's happening?", she asked Ryan.

"An early baby shower.", he said. "I kind of. . .I couldn't take off the day of the baby shower since there going to be a wedding at the restaurant hall so we all decided to have it today. I told you I was going to give you a perfect day.".

She smiled up at him and hit his shoulder, "Can't believe you were able to hide that from me.", she said. All the sadness she felt from today felt like it was suddenly drained out of her and all she wanted to do was shower Ryan with kisses. She understands why it was early and she didn't mind. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him.

Everyone said 'aww' and she turned around, blushing and chuckling as her close family member came up and hugged her. Lots of people she met on Ryan side hugged her also and when they all got their hug, she stood there a little awkwardly.

She blushed hard, "I'm in a t-shirt with a bikini under it.", she shyly said.

Ryan mom and hers chuckled, "Go change.", her mom said. "Cassandra picked out a dress for you and it's on your bed.".

Lillian nodded and hurried her butt upstairs. She saw a pretty white and yellow flower sundress on her bed and she smiled, picking it up. It was strapless and seem to look like it'll go past her knees a little. She hurried out of the outfit and bikini and into the dress, feeling more comfortable.

She went up to the dresser mirror and pulled her short hair up into a messy bun. It was simple and cute, a style Meredith taught her. She threw on some eyeliner and mascara, keeping her glasses off before turning around and looked at the bedroom. She smiled, loving the baby side. Both Lillian and Ryan were able to paint perfect clouds and everything was so boyish for a baby. A wooden crib with blue bed and blue blankets and stuff toys. A dresser for Zane only and lots of clothes already were in there cause it seem like Meredith couldn't help herself by going to Baby R's Us.

Lots of more stuff animals and toys all around for him and other things babies need. All she wanted was a bassinet, but she have to hold that dream up for later when Ryan can afford it. She felt bad for having him only to be the one buying everything, but he just kept saying don't worry about it. It still bugged her a little, but she knew Zane will need her.

She put on some sandals and left the room, going back downstairs to find everyone was out back. She went outback and she went over to a table, seeing a ton of food and her mouth watered up. She then thought about the cake and she frowned, Will there be a cake?, she thought.

"What's wrong?", her mom asked when she came up to her side.

"Was there time to get a cake or anything?", she asked.

"Well the one you wanted, we couldn't get.", she said and Lillian frowned a little more. "But we found another one just as close!", she said and Lillian felt a little better.

She smiled and hugged her mom, "Thanks, mom. I love you."

"I love you to, dear.", she said.

"Dad didn't want to come?", she asked, sighing.

"He's busy, Lillian.", she said. "But he did get you a gift.".

They broke from the hug and she looked at her mom shocked, "Really?".

She smiled, "Well of course, he still loves you silly. And he loves Zane also. I think he's got you the best gift here."

"Really?", she asked, kind of excited. "What is it?", she asked, grabbing her mom arm.

"I can't tell you that.", she said, turning her around and walked her over to another table where a lot of gifts were.

"Wow.", Lillian said, chuckling. "I didn't expect to get that many.".

"A first baby always important.", her mom said. "This way with all the cloths you have, you can save them for the next, you know if it's a boy again.".

"Then those cloths will be in a box for a long time.", she said, turning around. She smile again, "Today started out so bad and now it's great.".

"Why was it bad?", she asked.

"Oh, don't worry but I just didn't have so much fun at the pool as Ryan thought I would and a little jealously happened and the rest is history.", she said. "So where's the cake?", she said excitedly.

"In the fridge--which you'll have to wait to be surprise!", her mom said and she pouted, wanting to see the cake so badly.

"Mom, you know I'm no good with surprises. I'm impatient.", she said. "Just a small peak.".

"No.", she said, turning around. "Now go hang out with your boyfriend and friends."

"You mean cousin.", she said about her side. The rest were only Ryan's friends. But she went over to them and went to Ryan's side, smiling, "Hey.", she said.

Ryan wrapped and arm around her, "You've gotten pretty tan, the dress brings it out.", he said and Lillian smiled. "Now tell these losers I'm a king for making this happening.", he said, pointing at his friends and she chuckled. "I'm a miracle--hey!", he yelled when something hit him from behind and they turned around to see Brad and some of her older cousin chuckle.

"Come on, Ryan.", Brad said. "We know you're a soccer player but are you good with a football? We need some more players.".

Ryan looked down at Lillian and she smiled, nodding. Ryan and his friends joined her brothers and cousin in a match of football. She turned to her cousin who quickly started rubbing her stomach. Zane made his toss and turns, wondering if that means he was going to be a real ladies man when he's a teenagers since he moves a lot when it comes to girls touching her bump.

She chuckled at the thought and began talking to her cousins how her pregnancies been going.

Later, when Lillian went inside the house to get some ice, she looked at the fridge and pursed her lips together, looking around for her or Ryan's mom. No where in set. She bit her lower lip and placed her hand around the handle, slowly opening it.

"Lillian Chelsea Monroe!", she heard a male voice from behind her and she jumped, turning around to see Ryan's father looking at her with his hands on his waste. "I thought your mom and Meredith told you about it being a surprise.".

"I-I was just keeping some water.", Lillian said.

"There's water bottles outside in the cooler.", he said. "Now I was the one to buy the cake and I also want it to be a surprise.", he said and she pouted again. "Don't give me that face, Ryan may give into it but I wont. Away from the fridge now.".

She pouted still, "No fair.", she said as she walked back out into the yard.

"Game time!", Cassandra called excited. "Lillian, come on! I know your pregnant, but doesn't give you're an excuse to walk like a snail.".

She glared at her sister as she walked over to the another table and sat down, lots of the female family member sitting down and a bunch of diapers were passed around.

"Oh jeez.", Lillian said, awkwardly smiling at the shower game.

Everyone chuckled and Cassandra explained the game. They were suppose to guess the what type of chocolate bar was melted into the diaper. There was lots of guessing coming around and lots of chuckling around. When it came to Lillian turned, she brought the diaper up to her face and sniff. She took a second to guess and sniff and looked at it closely again, "It's a Crunch bar.".

Cassandra looked on the paper where there was number on both the paper and diaper and she looked, "Oh crap, your good. Maybe shouldn't haven't given you the one that's your favorite.".

Lillian smiled and her prize like the others were a bag of different types of candy mini's.

The next game was when everyone had to guess her belly size with yarn, cutting off while guessing how big she was and when everyone got there, they stood in line and wrapped it around her. Many failed until a cousin of her name Kelly guessed it right first and won a box that homemade cookies in from the same bakery her cake was. A good prize since those cookies are expensive and crazy delicious.

A few more games were played, one Ryan even joined about predicting what the baby could look like and they were drawing on a white broad. Since neither of them were good drawers, the baby came out pretty funny, but they all laughed about it.

And finally after they all ate, Lillian could finally see what her cake looked like. Lillian was forced to turned around as her mom brought the cake out and set it in the middle of the table. Ryan finally let her turn back around and she looked down at the cake.

It wasn't as decorating as the cake she wanted and the other one had rubber ducks and fishes, but this one was still really cute and she remembers seeing it, it was her third choice with farm animals and the cake was in box shape with fondant shaped as ribbings on top and around the button later where there was room was 'Welcome Baby Zane!'.

She smiled, "It's perfect, I love it.", she said, hugging her mom and Ryan's parents. When she hugged Ryan's dad, she whispered in his ear, "Thanks for the cake, Chris.".

He patted her back, "No problem, Lillian.".

She turned around and stared down at the cute cake. Ryan wrapped an arm around her waist as she cut into it, handing out pieces. When her back began starting to hurt, her mom and Meredith look over and Ryan and her took her their pieces before going over to another table.

Ryan sat behind her so she was able to lay her back against his chest as they ate their cake and she was happy today turned out to be a good day. "This cake is amazing.", she said, eating the huge piece of chocolate cake.

"Yeah. Pretty damn expensive but worth it.", he said.

"I know right.", she said. She turned her head and smiled at him, "Did I meant how much I love you?".

He chuckled, "I love you to, even when you have blue icing on the side of your mouth.".

She blushed and wiped it away, "Ha-ha.", she sarcastically said and she was happy when he kissed her. They finished there cake and Ryan put his arms around her, letting her lay there for a few more moments. She felt worn out, but she had to ungifted all her present first. She was wondering who the biggest gift which was in a box was form.

"Um, Lillian?", Ryan said.

"Hmm?", she said.

"Someone here.", he said and she looked at him confused, looking over at the entrance to the backyard and she leaned up from Ryan chest when she saw her father walk out and put his hands in his pocket as he looked around.

She was shocked to see him there and apparently so was her mom, brother, and sister. She got up from the chair and walked over to her dad. He looked at her when she came up to him and she had to asked, "I thought you weren't going to come.", she said as she wasn't able to control the tears coming in her eyes.

"How could I miss this, Lillian?", he asked, looking down at her in a loving apologetic way and her chest tighten. "Lillian, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you and-"

She didn't let him finish before going into her father arms, crying against his chest. His arms went around her and she felt like his little girl again. She didn't care if anyone was looking at them, she was happy he was here. It meant a lot to her.

"I didn't mean to yell at you, I'm sorry.", he said. "I love you so much, sweetheart.".

"It's okay, daddy.", she said. "You here, that's all it matters."

They let go of each other and she rubber under her eyes, happy Meredith talked her into getting that water proof make up since it was summer and she was sweating a lot, "I hope I'm not late.".

"No.", she said, shaking her head and smiled, taking his hand. "We still got presences and mom told me you seem to get me the best gift.".

"I hope it'll be.", he said and she chuckled, walking over to her mom, brother, and sister. They smiled at them both and they all hugged each other. Lillian felt like she go her family back and her father respect again.

She held her daddy arm until it was time to open up some present and two chair was brought out next to the gift table. Her and Ryan sat down next to her each other. He leaned over and whisper to her, "You okay?".

She smiled and nodded, "Yeah, so much better.".

They started off the with the small gifts first many of them were baby shampoo, cloths in different sizes for when Zane gets bigger, diapers and baby wipes, toys, baby powers and lotion, many bottles and pacifiers, toys blankets, and other things. She was also surprised with a mechanical swing. She felt like she had the stuff she needs, but she knows diapers runs out, but she feels like she's just going to be fine for the first months.

Now came the biggest gift and her dad had a big smile on his face. She gave him a smile back and Ryan helped her unwrapped the gift. Her mouth widen when she got half way and she realized what it was and Ryan was also shock to see the gift. It was the bassinet net she saw Baby R's Us she loved, but had to walk away when she saw the price. It was a beautiful dark wooden bassinet with a white and blue cover and it swung. She couldn't believe he got her this, it brought new tears in her eyes.

How much have I cried this day?, she thought, but ignored it as she hugged her dad tightly. "Thank you so much, daddy.".

"You're welcome, sweetheart.", he said.

"I love you so much.".

"I love you too.".

She went back to smiling at the cute bassinet and couldn't wait to set it up.

When it was time for everyone to go, she thanked everyone for coming with Ryan and when they were all gone, her parents and sister stayed behind to help clean everything up while Ryan and her took all the gift upstairs to her room. She kept the bassinet downstairs in the living room cause that's where she sure she'll be spend lot of time in the morning.

When they got everything up their room, Ryan wrapped an around Lillian waist and her arms went around his neck, "Still mad at me for earlier?", he asked.

She pursed her lips and made a thinking face for a moment. "Nah, I guess not, you did give me a perfect day. Just never talk to girl again unless I'm there with you.", she said simply, shrugging and he chuckled. "Kidding, but make sure they're not mostly ninety percent naked and no flirting.".

"Deal.", he said, pecking her. "A little over a month left, ready for it?", he asked.

"I think I am.", she said, smiling. "I mean, I know I wont be a bad mother or anything but I'm just really nervous. Are you ready though?".

"Of course I am.", he said. "I haven't been working my ass off for nothing. It's not like having Zane going to ruin our lives, he's special.".

"Special?", she questioned nodded. Lillian never thought in a million years she would be the one to ever get end up pregnant at sixteen and they were safe and how unluckily it is that in the one percent it fail? It should have worked, but it didn't and Zane here. God wanted it to happen, babies are god gifts and she sure he has forgiven her for not waiting. And she never thought in a million years she would fall in love with Ryan, someone who was so out of her league. She loved Zane and he wasn't even here already. She nodded and smile , "You're right, he is.".
