Sasha
Lashina. That was the name given to her. She was sick of it. She couldn't remember her birth name and the government agents in charge of the barracks gave her that name. She thought it was stupid. She liked Sasha much better. It was sweet, yet salty, nice, yet harsh, cute, yet mysterious. She liked the name Sasha.
And Sasha was currently running out of a farmers market, six apples in her arms, while being chased by three farmers. She hadn't eaten in two days. At least at the barracks she always got food. However, this was better. She was completely free, not having tests run in her, not being monitored every second of the day, and she was happy. She knew she would never go back. Her plan was to hide in the crowd. And where was there a bigger crowd than New York City. Ok, there was probably a bigger crowd in Los Angles but that was a bit too crazy for her, and I bit too far away. Besides, the book is called 14 reasons why I ran away to New York, not 14 reasons why I ran away to Los Angles. Sasha took a bite out of an apple. It was worth getting cased. She ducked past some cars, quacking as she did it. She turned a corner and then she'd completely lost them. She sat down on a bench to enjoy her apples. Her new life was looking good.
An hour later she had settled down in an alleyway. She fell asleep.
Seven people were gathered in front of a castle. Somehow she knew about them. There was a brave brunette boy, appearing to be the leader. There was an athletic, pretty blonde girl, a shy brunette girl, a mysterious Asian girl, and an odd girl with starch white hair. There was a snarky African American and a brainy red head. The castle was white with some blue. It was beautiful. They appeared to be in a town. It was night and the town was completely lifeless, except for the seven teens. They spoke but Sasha could not hear them. Leader was instructing the others on what to do. They then split up and went their separate ways. The vision disappeared and she saw a large purple dragon. It hissed at her. Sasha backed away. The dragon came closer and pushed her against a wall. It took one of its large claws and impaled her straight through the heart. Her vision went black. When she could see again, she saw she was back in front of the castle. The kids all came running from separate directions. Leader spoke, then Red spoke. Shy added something. Snarky made a comment. Pretty argued with him and Snarky didn't like it. Mysterious told everyone to shut up. Odd agreed. Pretty said something and Odd spoke afterwards. Leader told them something else. Then he pulled out what looked like a garage opener. He pushed the button and the teens disappeared, leaving Sasha alone.
Sasha awoke to the rising sun. She wondered what her dream meant. Whenever she had a dream like that it always felt real. It didn't matter now though. She got up and started walking. She was almost there.
Sammy
Sammy boarded a bus behind a lovely couple, pretending to be their child. The couple was so in love that they didn't realize they were paying extra. The couple he had tagged along with were heading to someplace in New Jersey. This would get him close to his final destination. He looked out the window. He new his siblings would be worried sick, especially his sister. But he needed to do this. Sammy quickly fell asleep. A while later, he was shaken awake. He looked up so see the couple he had snuck on with. The woman had dark hair and looked young. The man looked kinda like Steve Rogers, if Steve Rogers was wearing a lab coat. "Your stop is coming up," said the woman. "Wha?" Sammy asked. "Your stop. You came in with us so it would draw suspicion if you didn't come of with us" she said. "Wait, you know?" Sammy asked. "Of course we know," boomed the man. Sammy just looked at them in shock. "I'm Brielle and this is Dr. Don Pepper, my senpai," she said. "Samuel," Sammy introduced. The bus stopped and they got off. The woman handed him a piece of paper with a phone number on it. "This is my number. Call me if you need anything," Brielle said. "Thank you," Sammy said. They separated. Sammy started walking again, humming one of his sister's favorite song, I'm almost there, from the Princess and the Frog.
