"Miss Romani," Jin said with a slight bow of his head as she did the same greeting him.
"Shall we," She said directing him out of her office skipping all pleasantries as they headed towards her garage via a private lift.

"I must say it is rather interesting that it has come down to you and King fighting for this tender," he said.
She smiled looking at the man before focusing on the doors before her.
"King and I have a mutual understanding. Our personal lives never mix with business it is like oil and water," she said.
"Commendable but very dangerous indeed," he said.
"Do I detect a threat Jin?" She asked.
"None at all. I am just stating the obvious. He is a powerful man. You are a powerful woman in a men's world," he stated.

"Hmm. Let me show you why the men in your world fear me then," she said as the doors opened revealing a car already waiting for them as Sacha stood by the door.

"Ma'am," he said helping her into the car as Jin followed.
She looked at her watch as they drove out of the underground parking. The silence was however disrupted by her phone ringing.
"How?" She simply asked as she looked outside anger written all over her face before she let out a sigh.

"Jin. I am sorry but we will have to postpone the tour," she said as she informed the driver to take them to Jin's hotel.
"Is everything okay?" Jin questioned with a hint of concern.
"Yes. No need to worry yourself. I shall ask my assistant to reschedule your tour."
"I'm afraid I do not have time for another visit. I have other meetings to attend to. The board and I will have to make a decision on the basis of your portfolio," he said.
"I will get in touch. If you are still around then who knows things might just work out in my favor," she said with a smile.
"Very well. I leave tomorrow evening," he said as the door was opened.

"Reaching the dock she found several firefighter trucks trying to control the flames whilst her men where being taken care of by the paramedics.
She looked around her seeing the chaos as she watched men run around. She thanked her lucky stars as one ship has been affected. All her other vessels were enroute to different destinations.
The control tower had sent her footage of what happened and it appeared the root cause was an explosion that originated from one of the containers on board the vessel.

Another explosion occurred as Sacha moved to shield her but what he saw next had his eyes building in fear. The white shirt she wore slowly became stained with blood as she looked at him in shock. Calling for help as he caught her before she hit the ground several men rushed towards her.

Trying to call her he frowned as her phone went to voicemail. He looked at his siblings as they waited for him once the chief accounting officer has finished speaking.

He kept looking at his phone growing frustrated just as his PA walked in holding another phone.
"Mr King," he heard the old man say making him become alert.
"I'm on my way," he said before Lyle could finish his sentence.
Rushing out of the office he gave orders as he told his siblings he would return ignoring their words.

She opened her eyes to find him laying his head on the bed as he held her hand. Moving her hand to run it through his messy hair she watched as his tired expression changed to one of relief.
Looking at his wrist watch he murmured, "Good morning beautiful," moving towards her lips as he lightly brushed them with his.
She smiled as she still felt drowsy from the medication. Looking towards the clock she found that the time was 2 a.m.
"Good morning," she said in a groggy voice. Swallowing what little of saliva she had smiling weakly at him.
Trying to move she froze her actions feeling the pain from the bullet wound as tears ran down her face at their own accord. Helping her sit up he took the cup of water and helped her as she drank a little.
"Must I leave you for a few days for something to happen?" He said.
"Why did you try to kill me?" She asked as he frowned looking at her.
"What are you talking about. I would never. Why would you...?" He said as realization dawned on him.

"I would never think of harming you over the sake of my business. I would never think of harming you for anything at all Alexis," he said in disbelief as he began to pace running a hand through his hair trying to see how best to make her believe him. "Is that what you think of me? A power hungry fool willing to do anything to get what I want?"

She looked at him. Reading his expression before she simply said, "Come here."
He looked at her in frustration before moving towards her. Moving aside for him he looked at her in question as she looked at his hands. She frowned seeing his hands trembling before looking into his eyes once again.

What she saw broke her as a lone tear ran down his cheek.
"I would never," he said as words failed him at that very moment.
She shook her head stopping him from speaking as he kicked off his shoes climbing into the bed. She held him close to her as his body shook with the sobs 

"I'm sorry," she whispered kissing his forehead before falling asleep.

"Morning beautiful," he murmured as he held her in his arms just as the door opened.
"Good morning baby," she said with a smile before he pecked her getting off the bed so the doctor could examine her.
"I think I can hand you over to your fiancé. He seems capable of taking care of you.
She looked at Lee as he gave her a wink asking her to play along. Smiling she shook her head yes. 

Leaning against him in the car he held her hand as he listened to her steady breath indicating she had fallen asleep. Reaching her house Lyle greeted them looking at his employer.
"Madam," he said with a smile happy to see her.
"Did you lose weight?" She asked in a serious tone as the old man looked at his boss shocked. "Do not lose weight at my expense please. How many times have I been in such trouble before. I always pull through. Inform my trainer to come in this evening so we prepare a timetable for my recovery regiment. I will not be held back by a single bullet wound," she said as Lee supported her.

"Did they get him?" She asked just as Sacha walked into the house.
"We caught him ma'am," he said as she nodded her head.
"Give him the presidential treatment," she said as he nodded his head leaving the house once more. "I need help removing my clothing," she whispered feeling the ache of her muscles.
"Let me help you," he said just as his phone rang.
"Guess you won't be useful now," she smirked as he lifted her into his arms taking her to her room before he left.

Just as he was leaving her house a loud blast had his car screeching to a halt. The next thing he heard a gunshot as the bullet hit the driver. Opening his door he crouched down as he took out his own firearm.
Looking around he couldn't spot the shooter realizing it was a sniper. Quickly moving away from his car he found himself thrown away by the blast as the car he had been in exploded. Trying to get up he looked down the road to find her car heading his way.

Lexi

Once he left she had an uneasy feeling as the maid helped her peel off the shirt she had on. It had grown damp due to perspiration which was not helpful especially in her injured state. She was yet to take her medication and sleep. Calling his phone she frowned getting no response.

"Lyle," she said via the intercom.
"Madam. There was an explosion down the road, some men are already preparing to go and see what happened," he said as she slowly made it towards him.

"Move," she simply ordered the driver of her car as they sped out.
Sirens could be heard from a distance as she saw the cloud of smoke. She saw the second explosion and saw as Lee was thrown away by the blast.

"Alexis!" She heard her brother yell as his own convoy arrived.
She didn't know where the strength came from but she found herself kneeling beside Lee as he opened his eyes to look at her.
"I'm alright love," he croaked as she looked at him in relief.
Helping him up she forgot about her own injuries as she saw one man drop to the ground.

"Stay down. The sniper is still active!" She yelled as her brother and several men reached her.
She watched as Alexander was handed his own sniper rifle having spotted the direction the shot came from.
"Got you," he whispered as he fired a shot taking out the said sniper. "Let's go," he said just as the officers arrived.
Leaving her brother to take care of them they rushed to the hospital.
"Your stitches," he said in concern seeing the blood on her shirt as she looked at him her forehead covered in beads of sweat before she passed out.

She woke up with a start yelling his name out.
She saw her brother, Lyle and Sacha in her room.
The three men stood at attention moving towards the bed.

"Where is he?" She asked in a frightened voice.
"Calm down Lexi. He is in his room," her brother said.
Throwing the covers off she moved towards the door as her brother rushed to help her. He knew stopping her would be useless. Showing her his room she walked in as he closed the door shaking his head in defeat as he took out his phone attending to damage control from both explosions.

Moving to the bed she climbed onto the bed making sure to not disturb him before she lay her head on his chest listening to his steady heartbeat. He woke up to find her like this. His arm secured around her protectively as she clung onto his shirt still sound asleep.

The sound of him speaking in a hushed tone was what she woke up to as she opened her eyes to see her brother standing beside the bed.
"We will leave for Zimbabwe once she is cleared to travel, preferably the ranch. I need her to heal fast without any interruptions," he murmured. "Once I know she is safe you and I have to deal with our common enemy," he added feeling her move.

Looking at her, he smiled seeing her awake before his expression turned grim realizing there where people behind her.
"You two. I will deal with you when I come home," he said.
"Brother," Lance said stepping closer to the bed looking confused.
"Don't you dare come near her," he said as he got off the bed.
Moving towards his siblings he stood between them and her.
"I told you no dirty games to get this contract," he said in a voice laced with venom. "I almost lost her because of your carelessness. I don't ever...," he said his voice breaking as his sister covered her mouth trying to stifle the sob that escaped her.
"Lee," he heard making him turn his head to look at her as she shook her head no.
Seeing his hand trembling she reached out for his hand as he broke down before their eyes burying his face in the crook of her neck as she held him soothing his pain.

"Please forgive them," she whispered holding his face in her hands before she gasped seeing the gem on her finger.
He simply nodded his head yes in response. Pulling his head down she took his lips in a tender kiss. Moving his hand to the back of her neck as his other hand snaked around her he slowly pulled her on top of him taking her weight so as to not put pressure on her wound.

He groaned as she pulled his lip between her lips with a smile before he kissed her neck gently nipping her skin as he marked her to his pleasure. She moaned in pure ecstasy feeling his bulge poking her abdomen as he held her close.
Running her nails gently down his neck to his chest his body shuddered beneath her as she looked into his eyes seeing pure desire.
"Oh my," they heard someone gasp as a nurse stood by the door with a doctor behind her.
Both women were blushing profusely as they entered the room.

"I see my patient is feeling better," she said avoiding looking at the couple. Moving to spoon her he looked at her seeing her expression serious as though nothing had occurred.
"Might as well check on my stitches," she said as the doctor took a pair of gloves before moving to examine her.
"They will hold," she said as she changed the dressing.
"That's good to hear," he said in a smooth deep voice making all three women look at him.
"We shall take our leave," he heard as he leaned down to kiss her ignoring the doctor.
"I could have been sappy and all but that's not me and that's not you," he murmured. "What I need is you by my side always. The thought of you leaving me hurt here," he said bringing her hand to his chest as she felt his heartbeat. "I have never felt this way for anyone," he murmured. "You have my attention whenever you are in the same room as I. You are the only woman I have prayed for God to keep safe. No boarders can keep me away from you woman," he said showing his frustration with the last statement as he took a deep breath releasing it as he looked at her.
"You... You are a complex and strong woman who has my heart in her hands. You are the woman I want to truly spend the rest of my life with Alexis Romani," he said looking into her eyes as he said the words that made her smirk.
"I love you," she whispered. "I too would like to spend the rest of my life with you too," she smiled.
"I love you too Miss Romani," He whispered. "Now get some rest," he said pulling her closer to him just as the doors swung open.
