"If I had known we would be playing against you I wouldn't have put my name down for the match," Leroy muttered as he adjusted his gloves.
"This will be fun," she said with a smirk as she stopped in front of the stall written Pegasus.
The thoroughbred moved forward allowing her to touch her nose as she whispered her greeting.
"I had another brought from my stables. You should find him to your liking," she said moving to a stall written Lucky.
He smiled looking at the beast before him.
"I will surely win this match," he said with a smile patting the black coat.
"We shall see," she said as the groomsmen tended to the horses saddling them up.
Leading the horse of the stable she smiled seeing her brother socializing with a group of ladies who all were swooning at his words.
"Come here," she heard as she handed the reigns to one of the attendants.
Taking her helmet he secured it over her head.
"If I had known how hot a polo uniform could look I would have made you wear one a long time ago," he murmured making her laugh out loud.
"If only you had known," she said in a sultry voice as she turned away from him only for him to grab her hand turning her back to him as he took her lips in a knee-shaking kiss.
Sighing once they parted he winked at her before turning to go to his horse.
Mounting their horses they made their way onto the field as people began to clap. They were the last to get onto the field as their team members had already lined up.
"Oh Mr King," he heard her say as he moved closer to her stopping beside her. "My good-luck kiss," she said as he smiled leaning towards her as she reciprocated.
Several ladies rolled their eyes as they pulled apart moving towards their respective teams.
"I hope that was not a kiss of betrayal Mr King," one of his team members said making the others chuckle.
"More of a good-luck kiss gentlemen," he murmured watching her as she was the only woman on her team.
"Miss Romani," the men greeted her.
"Gentlemen," she simply said in response. "Let's show those boys why we are undefeated," she said making the men chuckle as the other team looked at them in wonder.
It wasn't surprising that both of them were on position three. As they battle of the best commenced. At half time Lexi's team was leading the game with 2 points. She smirked as they prepared to start the second half. He didn't look angry but rather pleased.
"Where did you learn to play?" He asked.
"One has to be able to socialize on different levels. I do enjoy a bit a golfing as well," She said as he looked at her as though she was joking.
"Now that I'm sure I can beat you at," he said both her team meats and his sniggered shaking their heads.
He looked lost before one of his team members commented.
"You do not want to go golfing with that woman. She has a mean swing it will make you seem at though you don't know the sport at all," he said as he looked at her before a smile appeared on his face.
"This I would like to see," he said as the match started once more.
Scoring the winning goal she raised her mullet in victory as the crowd cheered for them. Having clinched another victory. She removed her helmet as the horse galloped towards his.
A loud bang had people falling to the ground as some ran for it. Her horse was spooked by the loud noise which resulted in it throwing her off him.
Her security team was already scanning the source of the noise as her brother and Leroy rushed to her.
"Ma'am, are you hurt?" She heard Sacha ask reaching her first.
"I'm alright," she said in anger crawling to her horse.
"Lexi!" Leroy called her as she pushed them away.
"I said I'm finet!" She said as she looked at her horse. Holding him she saw her hands covered in blood realizing what had happed. "Get the vet!" She yelled ignoring the commotion around her.
Leroy watched as she tried to calm the horse down knowing it would be pointless even if the vet reached them on time.
"I'm sorry," he heard her whispers as the horse responded to her touch. The deep breathing told them all what was to come as the animal went silent. She slowly rose to her feet anger and pain visible.
"Did you get them?" She asked Sacha.
"Yes ma'am," he said in a grim voice.
Removing her other glove she threw both onto the ground in frustration looking at her dead horse. Clearly the shot had gone through Pegasus' heart.
"Come," He said reaching for her hand seeing she needed an outlet as she looked at him. Taking his offered hand he pulled her to the gym facilities the club offered not saying a word long the way.
"Out!" His voice boomed as the people who had been working out stopped what they where doing to look at who had spoken. One man stood up to ask who he was to order them out.
"The man asked nicely," Alexis whispered as Sacha and several men arrived. Seeing Alexis several men quickly stood up leaving as they pulled out those who were resistant.
Taking her hand once more he pulled her to the punching bags helping her put on gloves.
"I need this shirt off," she said in frustration as he stepped forward pulling the shirt out of her jodhpurs she stood still looking at his chest. Slowly pulling up the material he carefully pulled off the shirt leaving her in her sports bra before she stepped closer to him as he automatically wrapped his arms around her. Her shaking shoulders told him all he needed as she cried in his arms looking at the door waiting for the man to be brought in. She quickly composed herself as she stepped back avoiding eye contact with him.
Taking a deep breath she looked at him as the shooter was brought in. He walked over to the man leaning down to whisper something in his ear before turning to her.
"Let it all out," he stated as she took her first punch at the man.
No one held the man as he touched his cheek before standing up straight. Over the next few minutes she released all the anger and pain he had caused in just a split second as she remembered the blood on her hands.
Her body glistened with sweat as she sunk to the floor breaking down once more crying. The man before her was bloodied and beyond recognition but still breathing. Sacha ordered two guards to get the man and leave as he removed his jacked handing it over to Leroy.
Pulling the gloves off her he unwrapped her hands before scooping her into his arms.
Walking out of the gym Sacha led the way out of the building heading to her house.
"Happy to see you are unharmed ma'am," Lyle said. "I have taken the liberty of running a bath for you. The same goes for you Mr King. A light hot meal will be brought up to you in an hour," he said his gloves hands crossed behind him as he stood to attention.
"Thank you Lyle," she said.
"Thank you Lyle," he said watching her walk up the stairs to her room.
Stopping midway she turned to Sacha.
"Find our who sent him," she murmured as she removed his jacket handing it over to a maid to have it cleaned.
"Send for my hairdresser," she added making Lee frown.
"Very well ma'am," Lyle said as though this wasn't surprising.
"Is it not late for hair appointments," he questioned.
"It's never late for Miss Romani," Lyle said with a hint of pride as he took out his phone most likely to give the hair dresser a ring.

Bathing quickly he went to her room. Knocking he got not response but found the door unlocked. He found the room dark with the only light coming from the bathroom. Stepping in he found her eyes closed as he took a tentative step towards her.
"Have you not soaked for long enough?" He said as she slowly opened her eyes looking at him. The bath salts hid her body from his eyes as he sat on the edge of the tub.
"Please hand me the towel robe," she said pointing towards one. "Turn around," she requested as he obliged her hearing her stand to her feet before leaving the tub and wearing the robe.
Turning to face her he looked at her before touching her hair.
"What do you want to do with your hair?"
"A light trimming to remove the split ends," she said as he nodded in approval.
"I shall sit with you," he stated looking into her eyes.
"Very well," she said leaving him with a frown as he realized she was hiding her emotions from him.
"Look at me," he commanded her making her stop in her tracks.
"I do not have time to argue with you Lee," she said.
"Who said anything about arguing. The only time we will argue is when it will lead to crazy makeup sex," he said as he walked towards her. "This is us talking not arguing," he said. "Now get dressed before I think of something better which doesn't require clothing," he said before smacking her lips with his leaving the room as quickly as he could.
"I'm done," he heard her call out just as their food was brought up. Having switched on the light and settled on her sofa he looked up finding her in white floral dress that reached the floor as she held it up with one hand.
"I seem to have worked up an appetite," she said making him chuckle.
"I am not surprised," he said as they shared their meal.
Getting her hair cut after dinner she watched as the man worked efficiently before styling the cut. Pulling out a hundred dollar bill she paid the man.
"She is also generous," he said breaking the silence as she turned to him with a chuckle.
"Don't act like you wouldn't do the same," she said with a smile.
"Well I'm not one to brag," he chuckled just as a knock interrupted them. She opened the door to find Sacha standing before her.
"Sebastian is behind the attack," Sacha stated.
She didn't bother with a response but simply closed the door.
Looking at Leroy she walked towards him. Wrapping her arms around his neck she kissed him as he quickly responded to her kiss. Pulling back she whispered, "I need you to make me forget."
He looked at her as though she had spoken another language.
