Chapter Six
Ne Ne Mother-
Arthur quickly turned hostile just by seeing Francis. He tried to stand and attack him or something with the lace handkerchief on the table, but upon standing, he collapsed on the floor. Déjà vu...
I held back my laughter since the mood seemed tense.
"_____? A hand please?" Arthur cried out.
I walked to his side and held my hand out, he took it and I helped him back to his seat.
"Why are you so mean?" Francis huffed as he walked closer. He gave me a smile and I made my way out of the room.
Once out, I looked around the room, it was empty which gave me some relief. I loosened my petticoat by unbuttoning the buttons and let my hair down. Dressing up is so tiresome.
Just as I was about to take another step to my room, I heard someone call out to me, "_____!" I turned to see Antonio.
"Hi.." I froze. He was wearing his farming clothes so he wouldn't comment on my appearance. In his hands, he carried a basket filled with tomatoes.
"Is he still asleep?" He asked.
I nodded, "They're in the dining room right now, you know Arthur and Francis." I explained.
"I know who you meant." He laughed lightly, "I'm going to go make the food for tonight then, I've waited quite some time to make it, actually. Do you want to help?" He asked. He paused momentarily but before I could answer, he added, "You don't have to help, of course, I know you're not really into doing these chores, but it'll be fun." He smiled.
I laughed lightly as I picked a tomato out of the basket and tossed it in the air, "it's no problem, I'd be more than happy to help!" I admitted.
He turned, the smile still printed on his face, "Great! I don't think you've ever seen the kitchen, so this should be fun!"
I frowned slightly at the tomato, Antonio couldn't see me since his back was turned to me so he wouldn't think I'm peculiar for frowning at food. I dusted it off with the blue part of my skirt then took a bite out of it.
It.. Wasn't that bad.
---
"I'm surprised, I thought I would feel happier when you were awake, but no." I admitted to Arthur who leaned on the table.
The kitchen doors opened and Feliciano and Lovino entered, carrying two bowls of food and wine. Maybe the drink would ease some of his pain.
"Just set them there." I ordered the two. They did as so then left the room quickly.
I gave a sigh and sat on the table, "I know it's a little rude of me, but now, if you want to eat, which I'm sure you do, you have to go and get your food." I pointed to the other end of the rooms where the hot food was.
He just stared at me, "What am I doing here? What is _____ doing here? In Paris, to be exact.
I got off of the table and explained, "Right now, we're all in my castle. Samantha was here too but when she tried to get you and ____ back to London, I sent her down to the cellar. She can't just disobey me in my own home."
"She's in the cellar?" She frowned.
"Not anymore, I sent someone to give her food, but she took their keys and escaped. I've sent an assassin for her, but there's been no words from either. Not yet." I spoke.
"You idiot." Arthur hissed, pushing himself up. He was putting his weight on the table, now making his way towards the food. He was still a long way though.
"That doesn't explain why we are here though." He hissed.
I reached back and fixed the ribbon tying my hair back and smirked. "Well, how much do you think that England would pay for you and _____?" I asked.
He stopped talking and turned to me, but before he could speak, I laughed, "That was a joke, I wouldn't do that... Well, not always."
Arthur turned away and made his way towards the food again. He was quiet.
"I just thought to be nice and let you all stay here while that Johnny merde doesn't get what he wants back in England. Besides, I'm a nice person, so I'm doing you a favour!" I spoke.
"Oh? Well why don't you do me another favour and bring me the damn food!" He shouted. I rolled my eyes and got off of the table and walked towards the food, passing him as I did so.
But as I passed him, he kicked me, knocking me down. He took a few steps away from the table and took a sword down that I had on display above the fireplace. He turned towards me and aimed it at me.
I squinted slightly as I stood up and pushed it to the side, "Let's not do this, Arthur. You're in no condition to fight, besides, how are you even moving now, a moment ago you freakin looked constipated!" I shouted.
He didn't seem fazed by my shouting, instead, he kept the sword by his side as he walked over to the food.
"While I eat, I want you to explain to me, why I am here. I know it's not out of the kindness of your heart." He spoke as he lifted the cup of wine to his lips.
I crossed my arms, "You'll thank me you know." I stated. I really didn't want to tell him how the plague had reached London last week. Not yet, that would really hurt.
As for my home, no plague, no matter how lethal, will ever enter my fortified castle. Everything we need is here. There are four farming areas, sixty rooms, twenty bathrooms, seven kitchen and seven dining rooms.
My friends in Asia don't have as many people dying from the plague as we do, so when I observed how their lifestyles are different from ours, no demons are to blame.
I think it has something to do with the rats, maybe the insects, or even the filth. Rats are attracted to filth, so I have servants who clean on a daily basis and everyone is to shower at least once a week in order to remain clean as well.
I don't know what else to do other than that, doctors all over Europe are searching for a cure, but there isn't much that's useful.
"Are you going to answer me?" Arthur asked.
I snapped out of my thoughts, "What?"
"I asked what is it that I will thank you for?" He repeated.
I blinked a few times then looked down, "Allow _____ to explain later if you wish." I groaned as I left to the hallway.
I want to tell him, really, but would he even believe me?
---
"Tomato soup?" Lovino asked as he leaned on the counter.
"And pasta!" Feliciano cheered.
"We can do both, but remember not to add to much salt to the pasta, Feli-" Antonio was abruptly interrupted by Feliciano, who gave a chilling frown.
"I know how to make pasta, Toni, I know."
The room became unsettling as Lovino rushed to Feliciano, "He knows that little brother, relax, that bastard doesn't understand!" He tried to reassure Feliciano.
Feliciano turned back towards Antonio and mummbled, "ne ne mother-"
The door swung open, "Alright, is the food ready?" Francis asked, looking slightly anxious.
"No, you bastard! We have bigger problems here!" Lovino stated, Francis looked over at Feliciano cautiously, "What's wrong?" Francis was barley able to say before Feliciano burst out, "MY PASTA IS THE BEST!"
-
It took a while for him to settle down, let's just say things were chaotic afterwards. Italians, amIright?
Antonio apologised after he found a pasta noodle in his tomato soup.
It was very horrific.
In the late afternoon, we all finally got together in the kitchen to eat. Arthur and I hadn't talked since the morning because I was busy helping everyone with the meal.
When Arthur didn't wake up a week after he was poisoned, I made Francis agree to have a giant meal to celebrate that he's not dead.
This is the giant meal, good-job, Arthur.
-
As soon as the sun went down, some of the other servants helped set the food and drinks out while I freshened up and put on something more comforting.
Once I had on a softer blue dress on, I was ready to head back down to the dining room to eat. I left my bathroom and turned towards the drawer beside the bathroom door to see a small ring. It was tainted red, but I could see the jewel on it clearly for it to make me unsettled.
As I turned towards the door, I was shocked to see that it was open. I stared for a moment before realisation hit me. I called out, "Arthur!"
I took a few steps towards the door, I was afraid to look back and see someone.
"Arthur?" I called out once more.
"Yes?" He finally appeared in the doorway. I ran up to him and left my room, closing the door behind me. My heart was pounding and Arthur clearly saw my distress.
"What's the matter, _____?" He asked.
I turned towards the door and responded, "There was someone in there."
He quickly frowned and opened the door, as he did so, there was a quick glimpse of a dark figure jumping out the window, "You there! Stop!" Arthur shouted as he ran towards it.
"Hey, _________, the food is ready!" Antonio called from the hallway.
I took a few steps away from my bedroom until my back hit the hallway wall. Antonio frowned and approached, "Are you okay?" He asked.
I shook my head while Arthur ran out of my room, "Someone was just in there with her." He rushed to say.
"That's impossible." Antonio was quick to say.
"Obviously not!" I argued. He frowned then turned, "I'll talk to Francis about this then, afterall, it's pretty hard to break into a room, five floors high."
I stared as he ran downstairs to find Francis, "_____? Are you okay?" Arthur asked. I turned to him slightly and took in a deep breath, "Yeah, I'm fine." Responded.
"Then lie better, did you see their face?" He asked.
"No, but, that ring." I paused.
"What ring?"
"The one on the drawer."
He walked back inside the room, towards the counter and picked it up momentarily before letting it fall back down, "Why's it wet?" He asked.
I shrugged while he picked it up again, "Is this a wedding ring?" He asked, examining.
I nodded, my breathing suddenly slowing down...
------------------------
OKAY IMMA BE STRAIGHT WITH YOU GUYS, I DUNNO HOW LONG WEDDING RINGS HAVE BEEN AROUND BUT SKREW IT
Come to think of it, I don't know much about weddings :/
In other news, I got braces! My teeth are magically straighter and it's hella rad B)
Also, I'm really hoping that my friend does band next year. The teacher handed out a paper asking whether or not we want to be in band and/or marching band next year and I said that I wanted to have both band and marching band, because a girl told me that I should do marching band. I'm so easily convinced/motivated.
I'm.. Not sure if I regret putting a yes on the marching band part yet... /)0(\
Enjoy this part now, with Francy-pant's POV ;D
Until the next author's note... BYE-BYE!
