Dear future me,
I was tagged by the amazing ida1598 to do the age tag, I have to write to my future self, go check out their poetry book! (It's really good)
So here we go...
Dear future me,
First off all, how are you?
Have you finally finished high school?
Did you get into the college that you wanted?
Did you choose to study in England, or did you stay in the Netherlands?
Do you even know what you want to become?
Have you told your parents about wanting to become a YouTuber? Someone who inspires people and brings a smile to others faces? Did you tell that you love song writing? And dancing?
Probably not.
Dear future me,
Do we still have the same friends?
Have we lost a few? Or have we gained a few?
Probably the latter, since you always like to meet new people.
Do we have the same best friends? Or did they leave?
Are you still as insecure, about believing people genuinely liking you?
Do you still have those trust issues you grew up with?
I'm hoping no, I'm guessing yes.
Dear future me,
Did you learn more about life, random things, feminism etc.
You probably have, after all, you're always browsing the internet and Wikipedia at night.
Do you still have existential crises?
Do you still lay awake at night or pace in your room at night, thinking about why we are where we are?
Probably, I mean who doesn't?
Right?
Dear future me,
Do you still love reading and watching YouTube? As much as now?
Still obsessing over FanFictions and YouTubers?
Dear future me,
Do people still say that you're to young to understand?
That you don't have a say in things?
Does everyone still question why you worry and care about people you don't even know?
Are you still trying to stay kind?
Or did you see that there is no point in trying?
Did you give up or not?
Dear future me,
Do you know what your sexuality is?
I'm guessing it's bi or pan. (Even tho there is a huge difference)
Have you told your friends?
I'm guessing you have hinted it.
More importantly, have you told mother and father?
Probably not. After all, father is a huge homophobe. And mother tells everything to father.
I'm guessing you haven't told your sister yet either. She's as big as a homophobe as father is.
Dear future me,
How are your panic attacks?
Are they less frequent? Are they less frightening?
How are the bad thoughts doing? Still in your mind I suppose?
Have you finally told someone about them?
Have you stopped harming yourself?
I hope so.
Dear future me,
I know that you're put under pressure.
I know that you're tired.
I know that you're having a hard time.
I know that mother, your sister and father have insulted you a million times already.
I know that there will be more times.
I know that you've been hit quite a few times when you were little.
I know that you didn't have the best childhood.
I know that you didn't grow up with any friends.
I know that you want to give up.
But I also know that you will fight and stay strong. That everything is better now. And that everything will fall in place eventually. Just hold on tightly.
Dear future me,
I hope you're happy.
I hope that you are trying to follow your passion and dreams.
I hope that you have let the toxic people in your life go.
I hope that you are happy and comfortable with what you do.
I hope you found someone who makes you happy.
I hope you have finally bought a dog!
I hope that America has elected a better president. (Instead of a sexist burned orange with a toupee)
I hope that life's well.
Love,
your past self.
