Another story about a girl!!!

News Flash: She's my first!!!!
Her name is Colin (or at least that what she wants people to call her); she WAS my best friend in middle school, until we moved out of each others lives. During seventh grade we were inseparable: nothing could come between us. We supported each other and fought for each other. There were time I would've killed someone for her. Our love for each other ran deep. Out of the blue she completely iced me out. With the drop of a hat, we never talked again. Just as fast as she came into my life she ran right back out of it.
Now, I could write the story of how we'd hang out, kiss, eat twizzlers, and dance all night, etc., but I'll do something better. I'll amplify the narrative. Change it up a bit, make us older so it's more real and mature. This wasn't a big romantic relationship. She was from the west coast and initiated the idea of lesbianism. I'll mention this again, I grew up catholic, on the east coast, in the south. Gays aren't out and proudly walking the streets, unless you're in New York. We kissed to experiment with each other and in my mind it was a best friend kiss. I was really gullible and excepted information from my middle school friends like it was fact. Since she's from the west kissing girls wasn't new to her, but it was sure as hell new to me.
So here's the story of Kat and Colin: Kolin... IDK it sounds cute in my head.
Introducing Kolin:
As Katherine walked into school on her first day she thought many thoughts: Summer is over and it's time to get serious. Where am I going to go to college next year? How am I going to afford it? What am I going to do after it?
Katherine Marie was a stressed out senior who asked too many questions and not enough answers. Despite her shortcomings, she was smart—one of the brightest students in the class. On the other end of the spectrum was the delinquent Colin Henry. She was the laid back new student that everyone except Katherine had questions about; Katherine only cared about her own future troubles.
Colin was the hipster west-coaster, who had to move to the east coast due to her dad's job. She wanted nothing more than to ditch and smoke weed. She hated everything about east coast, except for New York. She especially didn't love the south. It was conservative republican central. Her parents wouldn't let her do her usually habits because the east was "critically conservative", as her mom liked to say. As she walked into school, she only imagined one thing, graduating and going back to California. She didn't have many other plans; she wasn't one who got bogged down by planning for the future. One of the few free spirits who went where the wind took her.
Days went by and the seniors of 2020 were getting used to running the school. Colin ran with the stoners, she spent most of her days getting high in the abandon school swimming pool. (The school didn't have the budget to maintain the pool.) Katherine didn't hang out around the stoners, other than picking up her weekly Adderall fix. Colin found this particularly interesting.

Katherine: Hey Brandon, can I get my pencil pouch.

Brandon Matthews was a good friend of Katherine. He and her had an arrangement where he'd give Katherine their special pencil pouch which was filled with pens, pencils, and an Altoid case; that wasn't filled with altoids. Once she was done, she'd give the pencil pouch back in the morning and Brandon would have her drugs or special medicine, she liked to say, ready before senior lunch period.

Brandon: Katherine, about that, it's not ready.

Katherine: What do you mean, "It's not ready"? What happened?

Brandon: I don't know my guys hasn't gotten back me in days. I'm fresh out. Sorry.

Katherine: I have a huge paper to do, and I need this for inspiration.

Brandon: I'll try to contact him, but times are tough. More people are getting caught. It's important to lay low.

Katherine: Is there anything you can give me to hold me over.

Brandon: Not that I can think of. You should ask Colin, she my second biggest customer.

Brandon pointed to Colin who was at the edge of the deep end of the pool. She sat back while smoking a joint. Katherine endured her breathtaking appearance; scrawny, tall, long blonde hair, angel blue eyes, and luscious pink lipstick.

Katherine: Her?

Brandon: Yeah.

Katherine: She looks like a praying mantis.

Brandon: Give her a chance.

Katherine: Fine.

Katherine walked up the stairs of the pool, and headed towards where Colin was sitting on the edge.

Katherine: Hi, do you mind if I sit here? This will only take a minute.

Colin was in the middle of a high.

Colin: I'm busy.

Katherine: (Annoyed) Doing what?

Colin: Tryna catch a vibe.

Katherine: Oh my gosh, really?

Colin: You can sit here but I can't make any promises.

Katherine: Ugh, I just wanna know if you have any adderall.

Colin: Who do you think I am? Pablo Escobar? I don't sell.

Katherine: First, off Pablo sold coke. Second, this wouldn't be a permanent situation. Brandon is out.

Colin: I told him to slow it down but he wouldn't listen.

Katherine: Listen to what?

Colin: Reason; the cops here in Atlanta are slow, but they're catching up to him.

Katherine, intrigued by Colin's knowledge sits down.

Katherine: Wait, you think he's going to get caught? How do you know?

Colin: I might have a couple of friends on the inside tell me stuff.

Katherine didn't know how to interpret what she was just told. Colin's father is a cop; but Colin can't tell Brandon or anyone, because who wants to sneak drugs to a cop's kid?

Katherine: You're withholding information that could help your friend; all because you're too lazy to say "hey, you might get caught".

Colin: Like he would listen to me. You a really bringing down my vibe.

Katherine: Unbelievable.

Colin: It's just the nature of the game.

Katherine: This isn't a game.

Colin: Isn't it. To the cops, it's a game of whack-a-mole. They hit one operation, and three more pop up. They'll take Brandon and then another person will fill his space. I don't really care.

Katherine: What kind of sadistic game are you playing.

Colin: I don't know? Whack-a-mole, maybe? (she chuckles at her own joke).

Katherine: I can't with you.

Colin: Oh boo hoo, go make a difference then.

Katherine stomped off and went back to Brandon.

Katherine: That bitch knows something. She's got info that you the police might be onto you.

Brandon: I've known this for weeks.

Katherine: Wait, what? How could you not tell me. If you go down...

Brandon: Kat, you know I care about you. I wouldn't do something as shitty as snitch on you. You're the only one here who has a future and I wouldn't take that away from you.

Katherine: Well, (holding back her tears) I just don't want to loose you.

Brandon brought Katherine in for a hug.

Brandon: I know what I'm doing. You ain't got a worry about me. How bout we hang out at the Varsity. Friday night.

Katherine: Okay, sounds nice.

---Friday Night: Katherine gets ready to hang with Brandon. She put on a cute fluffy shoulder-less blouse and skinny jeans. She walks to the Varsity which is only a mile from her house. When she walks in, Brandon and Colin are sitting at the counter.

Katherine: Hey (opens arms to give Brandon a hug).

Brandon: What's up (returns the hug).

Colin's wearing sunglasses to hide red eyes. She causally throws up a peace sign.

Katherine: So, what's the plan tonight.

Brandon: After Steve gets here we'll go hit up the park, or maybe the movies, or maybe laser tag. I don't know what I'm in the mood for.

Kathrine: Okay.

While Colin sleeps with her head down. Katherine and Brandon get to talking. They catch up on new music, both having a love for the 2000's rock. Finally, Steve arrives. It was at this moment Katherine sees with her own eyes, Brandon is currently taken. She watches as he kisses Steve a hello kiss.

Steve: You crazy bitches ready to go have fun.

Colin wakes up suddenly saying, "yeah", still buzzed from whatever she took. The four of them leave to go on their adventure.

What Brought tHem TOgether:
As they walked the streets of downtown Atlanta passing a blunt, catching vibes, they stopped to hang out at a park. Colin and Steve were making out in the castle on top of the slide. Katherine and Colin were left on the bottoms to entertain each other. Katherine sitting on one of the see-saw and Colin sitting on the other, bounced back and fourth.

Katherine: I'm sorry.

Colin: For what.

Katherine: For getting upset at you the other day.

Colin: It's cool, I like that you fight for your friends.

Katherine: Yeah, I just get pretty stressed and aggressive a lot.

Colin: You know they have drugs for that.

Katherine: Why does that sound like the selling point of any drug. Got a problem; we've got a drug for that.

Colin: Yeah. (chuckles) Here you should try this. God knows you need it more than me.

Katherine: You're probably right.

Colin and Katherine both got up and met at the center of the see-saw. In Colin's hand was a brownie wrapped foil.

Katherine: Please tell me it what I think it is.

Colin: yeah, what would you think.

Katherine: I don't know. I'm just excited.

Colin broke a piece of the brownie and gestured as if she was going to feed it to Katherine.

Katherine: What are you doing?

Colin: I promise if this is more fun.

Katherine suspicious, but goes with it. Katherine opens her mouth. Colin places the brownie on her tongue. Katherine close her mouth... but Colin's finger is in between her lips. Katherine playfully sucks her finger a little then retracts her head. Colin licks the left over brownie Colin misses.

Colin: Wanna go to the swings?

Katherine hates swings because they're absolutely disgusting, but she doesn't want to loose the vibe.

Katherine: Sure.

The two of them sit on the swings. The conversation was awkward at first since they thought they would have nothing in common; until they started talking about movies.

Katherine: What's your favorite movie?

Colin: Alice in Wonderland. What about you?

Katherine: (shocked face) OMG... it's my favorite too.

Colin: No way, you probably like something old like "Pride and Prejudice".

Katherine: You've got me all wrong. Tim Burton is absolutely my favorite director/writer.

Colin: You have to be joking. I thought you were all prim, proper, and anal.

Katherine: Yeah, at school I'm like that because I have to be. I have to stay focused in school so I can get out of this town.

Colin: Where are you hoping to go? Harvard.

Katherine: You've really got me twisted. I want to move to California and get away from these conservative pricks. My dream school is Stanford.

Colin: That's crazy cool. I'm plan on moving to California.

This was truly the start of a blossoming relationship. They went on about their dream life in California. They got into talking about their favorite season. They loved the fall. Before they had reasons unrelated to each other, but they enjoyed the fall season together. They became the best friends and that friendship blossomed into something more on September 28, 2019.

To Be Continued
(A/N): This story was not meant to be this long but once I started I got more and more inspired. Next, Chapter will be coming soon but I'm going to take a tiny break.
Merry Christmas Eve!!!
