Day 4
*This is one of the shortest chapters in this story but I hope you still like it. happy reading!*
When my eyes opened next, it was to look up into the eyes of two seperate Rens. One was in normal color with a stoic expression on his face. The other one was in purely black and white and looked monstrously furious. Phasma was off to the side, sitting and pulling up about a dozen monitors. Beside her was a third Ren, only half heartedly paying me any attention. I inwardly cringed at Phasma's fast paced data collection, never liking to do that when I went through data. Everything was carefully calculated when I looked at it. I tried to sit up, but nothing happened. None of the rooms occupants noticed my attempt either, which was also kinda bizarre.
"Do you think he'll wake up anytime soon?" Phasma asked the angsty man as she poured over the data. He shook his head to deny this and let Phasma continue working with the monitors before he actually spoke.
"He won't awaken while I'm keeping him under. Even if he is partially awake, he can't manage to become fully awake all on his own. The suppressants we pushed into his bloodstream should be keeping him from feeling much of the pain he would normally be feeling through his heat." Is that why they didn't notice me? I had to wonder.
"That's good. The last time Hux was aboard the ship during a heat, things didn't really go well for him." Why'd she have to reference that story? I hoped with all of my being that she wouldn't actually tell him about all the travesty that had occured then.
"What happened?" Ren asked, looking overly intrigued.
"It was while Hux's father was here monitoring him. He had to deal with so much abuse and that was before he became a general or Snoke's apprentice. It made everything so much harder on him." She wasn't wrong. Seeing my father while working had been a challenge and thankfully I'd never have to got through that again.
"And what are you to him?" Ren asked with what almost sounded like a hint of jealousy. Where did that come from?
"What's with the twenty question interrogation?" I'd like to know the answer to that myself as this discussion continued. Phasma let out an exasperatedly knowing sigh before she continued. "We're companions. Hux is hardly one to use the word friends, but we're closer to that then enemies. It's funny though, if you don't mind me saying so..."
"What?"
"Snoke is powerful and intelligent, but he knows almost nothing of Hux. And well, neither do you. But I do feel like he's starting to trust you. And while I understand that you don't trust me all that much, I do still care about the general. Despite not being quite as innocent as the general believes me to be, I have always cared what happens to him. I've done my research and I know the most likely way this will all shake out. I'm not blind to who will end up on top. But I can be just as impulsive as you Ren. You saw me take out that woman. I run the army and the army will turn on you without me within its ranks. All I'm saying is choose your battles. Nobody wants to be alone in the end."
The black and white Ren raged moving over Phasma with its hands hovering right above her throat. In color, the other Ren scowled over to her. I felt as if I had to move. Protecting Phasma from this horrible prick was definitely in my job description. Or at least, it shout be.
"Get away from her, you bloody beast!" I felt myself shout. Both occupants turned to my body as I slumped back over onto the medical cot, suddenly feeling very drained. Feelings left my body as soon as they had come and all I could hear was a buzzing sound as I went back under. This time I was fully under, but at last that was more of a blessing then a curse.
