Chapter 27

While Mrs. Wang is cooking the breakfast, she is into deep thoughts. What had happened last, she concluded the two had a serious fight.

Wang Yibo wakes up and goes to the dining room but Mrs. Wang is a surprise. It is a rare sight to see Wang Yibo wakes up before Xiao Zhan.

“Oh my, you are awake already.” Mrs. Wang said.

“Yeah. Did Zhan go to school already?”

“Nope, he hasn't come down either and somehow overslept. Can you wake up Zhan?”

“Okay...”

Wang Yibo speaks before opening the door.

“Zhan I am coming in.”

When he hears no one answered, he opens the door and saw Xiao Zhan still lying on the bed sideward facing the wall.

Xiao Zhan is not responding so Wang Yibo pulls his shoulder. Xiao Zhan is bead sweating and his face is so red and gasping. Wang Yibo quickly checks Xiao Zhan's temperature and finds out that he is burning hot.

Wang Yibo panics and helps Xiao Zhan sits and let him carry on his back and shouts as he approaches rushing down to the dining room.

“Mom! Mom! Zhan is sick!”

“What? Put him in the car first, I'll right out!” Mrs. Wang removes her apron and closes the fire of the stove.

Wang Yibo places Xiao Zhan slowly and carefully in the car securing the seatbelt. Wang Yibo wanted to go with them but Mrs. Wang did not agree.

“Let me go with you too..”

“You don't need to. I'll call you later so just go to school.”

In the hospital.

“There is no particular abnormality but it can be caused by stress. Let him take a rest.

“Yes...”

Mrs. Wang caresses Xiao Zhan's forehead and thought it is weird that she wants the one who is sick.

Xiao Zhan opens his eyes when he feels the touch.

“Ah, Auntie?”

“Zhan, can you hear me? We are at the hospital.”

“I am not sick, I am going home.”

“Zhan, you can't”

“I am seriously fine. I want to go home...”

“Ok then, let go  get an IV injection first..”

In school.

“Hinggg...why Zhan is sick....” Zou Cheng asked.

“If you are that curious, we can go to his house later.” Ji Li said.

“Wang Yibo, you know where is Xiao Zhan's house right?” Ji Li asked.

Wang Yibo went blank and speechless. No one knows that they are living in the same room.

“Yibo...” Zou Cheng called.

Wang Yibo's phone vibrates and when he sees it is his mom, he left the two dumbfounded.

“How's Zhan?” Wang Yibo quickly asked as he answers the call.

“He is fine, can you buy for him porridge after school? I am not sure if I will be able to go home early.”

“Where are you right now?”

“I am going to work.”

“You are leaving a sick person and go to work?”

“Do you think that I want to? Even I wanted to be by his side. But Zhan just wants to be alone so what can I do?”

“I understand.”

“Yibo! Makeup with Zhan, okay? We are only his family.” Mrs. Wang thought this is a hard situation for them right now.

“I am hanging up.” Wang Yibo gets back to the classroom and picks his bag.

“Where are you going?” Ji Li asked.

“Home.”

“Huh? Suddenly?” Meng Ziyi gets confused with Wang Yibo's action.

“What happened?”

“Dunno...”

Before going to the hospital, Wang Yibo bought the porridge. He is in deep thoughts.

Xiao Zhan is sick because of me. Even if I can only be by your side, that's good enough. This happened because I am greedy.

Before entering the ward, Wang Yibo announces his presence.

“Zhan, I am coming in.”

Xiao Zhan startled and shifted his body, don't want to face Wang Yibo.

Yibo? Why he is here at this time?

Zhan...” Xiao Hn flinched hearing Wang Yibo's voice and did not respond.

“I want to apologize about yesterday. I am sorry. I don't have any words to say. I got you some porridge so eat it. I...”

“Why do you like me? I don't have anything...”

Wang Yibo faces Xiao Zhan's back and speak.

“Do I need a reason to like you?”

Xiao Zhan becomes speechless.

“Zhan...I liked you for a long time. I want to be really good for you. I don't want to burden you.” To think you will pity me or maybe realize my situation. It's pathetic, right?

Xiao Zhan just listens to Wang Yibo.

“But I can't even do that. So I just helped you when you are having a hard time. In the end, I just burdened you.”

“Yibo...” Xiao Zhan suddenly gets up.

“Let's forget about my confession.” Wand Yibo said and smile bitterly.

“I'm sorry...” Xiao Zhan lowers his head, feeling guilty.

“You don't have to say sorry.” Wang Yibo answered.

The next day in the school.

“Zhan, are you alright now?”

“Yeah, I am fine now.” Xiao Zhan answered happily.

“Weak, weak. Don't you know that health is important as third years.? Ji Li said.

“You're not even studying, you only good at talking.” Zou Cheng said to Ji Li.

“Wang Yibo, why did you go home early yesterday?” Xiao Zhan who hear the conversation was surprising.

“Something came up.”

“Really?”

“Is everything okay now?”

“Yeah.”

“Hey guys, after school today, wanna go to Karaoke? Do you feel like going?” Zou Cheng asked.

“Why not.” Ui Li excitedly answered while Xiao Zhan is not decided.

Xiao Zhan though he has friends and not alone they are all Wang Yibo's friends so he won't know if he can stay with them.

Xiao Zhan and Ji Li are the cleaners. Xiao Zhan talked to Ji Li. When Ji Li came out to meet his friends including Wang Yibo, they were all surprised that Ji Li is not with Xiao Zhan.

“What? Why are you alone?”

“Xiao Zhan is not feeling good so he went first.”

“Ah, but I want to play with Xiao Zhan too..” Meng Ziyi said and pouted in disappointment.

“Won't he run away if he sees you?” Zou Cheng said teasing Meng Ziyi.

Meng Ziyi attacked Zou Cheng and punch him.

“Ouch!”

“Do you want to die?”

“N-No!”

“Who is Xiao Zhan?” one of their friends asked.

“Ah, our classmate.” Ji Li answered.

Wang Yibo decided not to go that made his friends shock.

“I'll get going too.” Wang Yibo said.

“Why?” Meng Ziyi asked angrily.

They don't want Wang Yibo to leave but there's nothing they can do about his decision.

As soon as Wang Yibo arrived at their house, he quickly checked Xiao Zhan in his room. He knocked but no one answered only to find out that Xiao Zhan is not yet home.

He is not here. If he is not here, where did he go?

Wang Yibo gets worried and feeling uncomfortable. He heard the beeping sound of the door when someone unlocks the code.

He is back!

When the door swung open, it is his mother.

“Mom!”

“Oh my, when did you get home?”

“Xiao Zhan is not home yet? I came back from the library after studying.

“Yeah, but rather than that, do you know where is Zhan?”

Wang Yibo asked with a worried face as he thought, again, they're back to a square one when they were young.
