"blue looks nice on you," you said, making me flinch at the sudden compliment.

i felt my cheeks heat up at the sound of your soft voice.

i wished i could hear it everyday.

"this dress is new," i answered, trying my best to mask my flushed face. "i got it yesterday."

your eyebrows arched up, eyes wide with joy. "really?" your fingers were raised to softly brush my hair out of my eyes. "you could've told me and we would've gone together."

you let out a loud, booming laugh.
