Katherine's point of view

I was sitting on the grass, looking at the sunset and the beautiful scenery around me. The city. The busy streets. The lights of cars and houses. My  mind was clear now and I was much calmer, but this did not stop my mind from wandering off to the memories I was tring hard to keep buried. It made me think about them. The boys. The Dolans. 

*flashback*

''Hi. My name's Grayson, and what's yours?''

''Hi. I'm Katherine.''

''Hey bro, come over here.'' A guy shouted at Grayson while coming to us in the hallway 

''Woah...and who's that?'' The same guy said with a smirk on his face

''This, Ethan... is Katherine. The new girl'' Grayson said smiling at me.

''Well it's very nice to meet you Katherine'' Ethan said while bumping Grayson's shoulder and coming closer to me, shaking my hand

''You too, Ethan'' I smiled back. 

I remember that on that first day in school I was trying to be nice to everyone. Why? You can imagine how hard it was to move to a completely new country and find friends in an entirely new place. I was born and raised in Boston, USA. However, my dad got promoted at work which meant it was a really big step for his career. However, for me? It wasn't the best experience. Leaving Boston meant that I had to leave all of my friends and relatives behind. And move not only into a different city but to a different country.

''WELCOME TO CANADA'' was the first thing I saw when we entered our new country. Our new home. I remember that all I could think of then, were the memories of the past few days- leaving my best friend- Monica who has been my friend for... as long as I can remember, really. Leaving her was probably the toughest thing I had to do. I remember while we were entering Canada could see my reflection in the car mirror, my eyes blood red because of all the crying. I remember I looked at my parents who were sitting in the front seat of our car whose expressions were full of worry. That's when I decided not think not about the past, but the future. After all, the reason we were moving was to give us better life prospects. My parents they were doing this for us. To provide us with a better future- for me and my little brother, Chris.  

*Present time*

I tried to shake away from all the memories of the past year and headed back home. I didn't want my parents to worry. After all, they are really overprotective. I partly understand them- living in a big city like Toronto can be scary, but I'm 17. I'm not a child anymore. 

I walked in and saw my mum with crossed hands. 

''Why are you so late? School ended 2 hours ago and it only takes 10 mins to get here. Sooo? Explain youself please?'' my mum said

', Listen mum. I'm really not in the mood. Can I just go to my room?''

''No?! You're not going anywhere until you explain where you were.''

''Okay, fine. I was at my secret place, okay? I was trying to clear up my head after what happened at school'' I  said with a sad tone of voice looking at the floor

''Oh, honey. I'm sorry. Tell me, what happened'' my mum's expression changed drastically after I told her that I was at my secret place. She knows that only go there when I really need some alone time.

''Shawn happened'' I whispered

''What? Who?'' my mum  asked confused

''A new boy joined our school and... it brought all the memories from last year'' I said frowning

''Honey, you need to stop torturing yourself. It wasn't your fault!'' I'm sure you can tell that my mum's quite overprotective when it comes down to boys 

''I know mum. But I still feel guilty.''

''The twins probably forgot about it by now''

''I don't know. I can't think anymore. Can I just go to bed? I'm tired.''

''Sure, sweetie. I'm gonna bring you the dinner upstairs then, okay?''

''Thank you'' I smiled and headed to my room

I lied on my bed and put some music on for relaxation. After a few minutes, I grabbed the book I was currently reading and started digging into it trying to think about anything but the twins.

After a while, I realised that I've drifted away and forgot about the time, I guess my mum forgot about it too. It's been 1 hour since I last talked to her and she most probably forgot to bring me the food.  

Shawn's point of view

It was finally time. "This is it. I am sneaking into the garden of a girl I just met." I whispered to myself which led to me giggling and saying 'What is wrong with me'' while continuing my attempt of sneaking in. It was kind of stupid and maybe a bit wrong but I needed to talk to her and I couldn't wait until tomorrow. And Chrissy did say Kath's parents are not going to just let me in since they're super strict so, nothing was gonna stop me now. When I finally managed to climb the wall I looked at my phone and started dialing Katherine's number. 

Then I saw her shadow moving round her room, as she was trying to find her phone. When she finally found it, she stared at the screen for a while, probably wondering why an unknown number is calling her. 

''Please pick up'' I whispered 

''Hello?'' Her voice tone was confused. Understandable.

''Hi, Katherine. It's Shawn''

''Shawn? What... ho- how did you find my phone number?'' She asked

''This doesn't matter. How are you? Are you feeling better?''

''Umm, yes. Thank you. But.. what is the real reason you're calling me?''

''Okay, you caught me.'' I said

She laughed. Man, I love her laugh.

Then I heard a noise- it was her, opening the door to her balcony. She was wearing her PJs and her hair was in a messy bun, but she couldn't look any cuter.

''Yes, I did. Okay, tell me now'' I could hear a smile in her voice

''Fine. We,ll I wanted to see you...''I said guiltily because I was unsure of how she would react

''What? See me? Like now?'' She asked confused

''Well, yes. If that's okay with you.''

''Well...not really. It's a bit late, it's not the best time to sneak out, especially considering my parents' strictness''

''No need to sneak out'' I said smirking

''Well how do you suggest we meet then?'' She said while opening the door to go back to her room. Ohh no, no, no. I can't let her leave. Not now.

''Turn around'' I said quickly

Katherine looked confused but then a second later she turned around to face me. Okay...maybe not exactly me, but the garden, and well...the dark. 

''Where are you'' she said while furrowing her eyebrows

''Down here.'' I waved at her and ended the call.

Her eyes were searching in the dark and when she found me she seemed both happy and confused

Katherine's point of view

He was wearing a white shirt so I found him pretty easily. And then I realised- that beautiful boy was here because of... me? I still can't believe that he likes me enough to sacrifices his night in order to just come and talk to me.

''Can we talk'' He screamed 

''Shhh!'' I said laughing while putting my finger in front of my mouth

''Oh, sorry. Can we talk?'' Shawn said quieter

I just pointed at the tree which was right next to the house and it was just as tall as my balcony. A second later he was already climbing the tree.

I laughed quietly at how cute and concentrated he was while doing all of this. He already halfway there but he kept looking up at me, smiling. I blushed by the look of him. So handsome and so cute, but so fun and full of humor in the same time. 

He was almost at the top when he stepped on a branch that lifted him up unexpectedly leaving him a few centimeters away from my face.

''Hi'' Shawn said panting and smiling simultaneously

''Hey'' I whispered back and looked straight into his eyes. Our gaze so intense I could already feel the shivers down my spine just by looking at his lips. Yet, this was interrupted by a noise. Someone came into my room. 

''Hey, honey. Time for dinner!'' 

 MY MUM!!

Soo- this is my longest Chapter so far. And we finally found out about last year. Well, at least a part of it.. ;)

I decided to do this chapter longer because you deserve itttt- I haven't posted for a week. However, there is another reason why I decided to post a longer chapter- I have 87 reads, people! From 45 reads last time, to 87 in a matter of days. This deserves a celebration,am I right?
